Avita takes her life in her hands and takes a deep breath. "Stop? Yes, I've another that could STOP it. But we don't want to STOP it do we? We want to kill it." She raises her hand again. "So if I can; let's give this another try."

Andras' guts finally give way as she stumbles to her knees and empties the contents of her stomach.

Unfortunately, Avita's luck fails her again. The dretch ducks under her spell at the last minute, and continues it's violence against Silvet's poor shield, it's claws hardly scratching the metal. Olidar reaches the demon and swings his broadsword at the demon's side, but he seems too weak to penetrate it's flesh.

Silvet continues to duck and dodge, glancing at her companions.

Sarim sees Andras losing her lunch and only barely holds back his own. "Bluh... I'm made o' stronger stuff 'n that... Just wait'll I c'n swing my axe, you wretch demon..."

The dretch, finally deciding it's assault is futile, turns on Olidar and tries to claw him to death, with no more success. The gnome fends off the storm of limbs, but his attempts to retaliate come to naught. Avita looses an arrow at the demon, but it bounces off the beasts's thick hide.

Silvet attempts to bash her shield against the hide of the beast, awkwardly. Just die already!

Steadily, Andras rises from her knees to her feet, her brow taking on a look of fierce determination as she wipes the rest of her breakfast from her lips.

She raises her sword high and charges, hoping to blindside the dretch. However, her feet seem not to have yet recovered from the nausea, as she trips over herself and nearly ends up sprawled in the ground. Needless to say, she misses spectacularly.

Sarim rises to his full height, takes in a breath, and.. lets out a hearty laugh. "Gah ha ha! This thing got us good!" He then scowls and raises his axe. "But this be the end for ya, mangy wretch!" Sarim lets out a battle cry, charging right in front of the dretch and swinging his mighty axe, but the impatient attack hits the ground next to the dretch with a loud crack rather than hitting its intended target.

"Oh; frell me catatonic with a nice vintage of burgundy..." rasps Avita ambiguously, and her right hand flares black as she attempts to reach out and touch the foul, feckless, fiendish foe.

The dretch avoids all your attacks with greater agility than you would ever expect from such a squat creature, then lashes out at Sarim, with a raspy growl, leaving a long, shallow gash across his chest. Olidar takes a stab at the demon, but slips on a mud puddle and misses.

"I'm getting really tired of this fellow's company" mutters Avita. And she sidesteps to get a better angle and reaches out with her darkly-radiating hand to attempt, again, to touch the hideous thing.

Sarim snarls and shouts in the dretch's face in fury as he swipes the axe at the its side. "Away with ya! You are nothing compared to me!"

Bringing her sword around, Andras manages to just barely scratch the dretch's skin.

Silvet moves to a good flanking position, making sure to keep the demon at least a little distracted, all while dodging.

Avita's burst of negative energy hits the dretch straight in the chest, causing it to double over with a whine, leaving it vulnerable to Andras who finally gives the demon something to complain about. The dretch tries it's old favourite of clawing Silvet's shield, but is completely ineffective. Olidar cuts at the demon's back, but can't penetrate it's leathery skin.

Andras tries to take advantage of the dretch's turned back, but the nausea threatens to come back, throwing her swing wild.

Teeth clenched, Avita throws another black-flaring punch at the thing.

Obviously heartened by it's "success," the dretch turns on Olidar, determined to slay one of you. The poor gnome tries to his best to fend off the attacks, but screams in pain as a claw penetrates his armour, sending blood gushing down his chest. Still fighting, he yells words of encouragement to your group. "Come on, it's weakened. Let's send this thing back to hell!" Lunging at the demon with his sword, the dretch just barely manages to leap out of the way.

Avita just glares. "The urge to kill something has become basically overwhelming" she says as she tries to swat the Dretch again.

Quickly recovering from her miss, Andras steps to the side, brings her sword around and over her head, and into a solid zornhau that connects with the meaty thud of a butcher's practiced chop, cleaving all the way through the dretch's body.

Avita, back held very straight, steps right onto the wreck of the Demon and looks straight at Oligar. "Regular weapons would do the job, you said. I saw how my arrows turned. I do not know if you were lying or if you were misinformed and I do not care. We fall back now, and re-equip"

She turns to Andras; and bows "Good. Stroke. Blue-Eyes".

She turns to Silvet. "I thank you for your defense, and for getting rid of these...other things." She gestures at the Demoniac corpses further up the alley.

And then she steps off the demon corpse and puts a hand out toward Sarim; "Sir. This morning has not bought you glory. This was misfortune, and fortune can change. The sun is still high. There is still time today to see greatness from you."

"But it would help if we were properly equipped. Those idiots in the tower have kept so long, they can keep another hour. So I suggest we go get some Cold Iron gear. And do that now. Before we get surrounded by a gang of these...things."

"Finally it's over. Is everyone all right?"

Wiping the cold sweat off her brow, Andras nods a thanks to Avita.

"Good work, everyone! I hadn't seen this much bad luck in decades, but perseverance and endurance got us through. Now, I agree. Cold iron would do us some good, and I could use some extra equipment."
