"Flashy, but effective," Wenomir comments, surveying the carnage. Won't be getting any more use out of that dummy. But he goes through them quickly at the best of times. "What would have happened if your thrown sword had missed? Would you have followed up with the rest of the attack?"

Mia will follow them on therir way. She can be skiped unless addressed to.

"I would have," she replies calmly as she looks to the two of them, "it doesn't truly matter whether the thrown sword hits its target because it's true objective would've been to blind its target with its bright aura as I disappeared and struck from behind. It is said that the energy emitted from these blades come from the realm of my deities, but once a target is hit the energy seeps into their system, then it's only a matter of time before they go poof. It's trickier to use on stronger opponents though, and they don't work on people that share the same faith, but my other blade acts as the cure when its abilities are activated," she smiles.

"It was very flashy, wasn't it?" she giggles softly before continuing, "I prefer not to use stealth attacks," she hesitates for a split second, "it requires me using this," she points to the abnormally large longbow, which if stood upright would be taller than she is, but is currently wrapped in several layers of cloth and strapped to her back, "I made a pact that it wouldn't be used unless my back was against the wall in a do or die situation. It's a cursed weapon so it's quite dangerous, and only brings about trouble to its wielder."

Wenomir takes it all in silently, then nods.

"Could you shoot a bow if we provided you with one?"

Hmm. Do we get the sense that this has happened before?

Commandant Ruby Ignitis of Southside, the same envoy sent to Lenai's meeting while the General was escaping a MagAmbush. In her epaulet-happy dress uniform, the half-dragon woman doesn't seem to have come to fight, but to talk. Hopefully to someone in authority, but they also need information that could come from anyone.

Spako Highclaws is snoozing in the lobby, but wakes up as the visitor enters, eyes snapping open. Good thing dragons always look regal, right?
Don't burst his bubble, Commandant.
"Oh hello welcome how can we help you?" he asks hurriedly.

"Definitely!" Veya smiles at Mia as she sheathes her blades, "but I would also like to know more about Vigil."

"We need information on them," The first man speaks his mind.
The more forces we have to work with the better, The second voices out.
It's clear that they're interested in recruiting me, and I agreed to helping them power the island, but if they're going to fully recruit me we could possibly get them to help us, Veya replies to the men in her mind.

Of course not! We wouldn't want to offend the dignity of this weird little VIGIL member by telling him how silly he looked. Or what picture it paints of VIGIL to have him apparently sleeping on the job.
"I represent the city of Southside; I'd like to speak with someone about VIGIL and how it relates to some other organizations and individuals."

Spako straightens up to his full height, looking down at the commandant. His head is dangerously close to the ceiling. Little?
"I think I can probably help you, Ma'am. Or at least point you to someone who can. Can you be more specific? "

[Recaiden]

Compared to the dragons The Commandant is familiar with? Tiny.

"Thank you, sir. Our main concerns are the return of Magtok, for obvious reasons, and the Chimera Syndicate, which you may remember attempted to destroy the whole of Riverside some time ago. But if you have anyone who would care to discuss how VIGIL fits into the Nexus geopolitical situation in more general terms, that would be appreciated."

Those red dragon genetics must come from somewhere I suppose.
"Well I can try to answer your questions for now and ask my superiors if there's something I don't know." he offers.

"Great! I can start with what ought to be some easy ones!"

"What is it that you guys do, exactly?"
"And what's your relationship with your former leaders?"

"Well, Vigil protects the Nexus from threats of all kinds. Invasions, crimes, all the things in the brochures. As for relations...I don't think we have any? Magtok and DC were pretty clear when they left that there would be no further relations." he says, pondering. He wasn't there for either of those events.

Mia looks back confused. She looks behind her to check if she stands between the bows and Veya. Nop not the case.
If Vaja assumed a reaction about the devine Aura, she will get disappointed. The spell used is something a spellcaster would use not a priest, at least in Mias point of View.

"Have you got a brochure on hand?" The Commandant inquires. Just looking one over might help.

"Yes, I understand that there's no formal connection, but how do you feel about them, the circumstances of their leaving? Are they enemies? Resources? Truly completely ignored?"
"And about the other thing - invasions of what? Crimes according to whose laws?"

"We don't actually have brochures yet. I have suggested them but I don't think we actually have a big printer to make them. Or approval.
"Both of them almost completely vanished. That's all there is to it.
Right now we fight against threats like the demons because they are a threat to life. They kill and corrupt everything and refuse to negotiate. Petty things like crimes we don't usually police to be honest but if someone requested our presence I think we would go."

The Commandant slowly nods.
"Printer problems are a pernicious evil indeed." she intones, mock-serious.
"Do you have any actual, ah, rules or opinions, or is this like, a social club for 'heroes'?"

I'm not at liberty to generalize our goals." Spako says formally. He's a little annoyed at the half-dragons dismissive statements.

Wenomir nods.

"We're a group that fights threats to the Nexus and its people. Big and small, whatever comes up. We all have our own methods of doing it. I'm one of its commanders, the other is a sorceress named Cessie. But we don't give orders, so much as... oversee things. We used to be called Watchtower, but the name changed. Our old fortress was overran by demons, and I destroyed it to deny it to them."

"Ma'am, I'll be honest. Almost all our resources are going into rebuilding the organization and fighting the cuthun demons. Almost everything else is subject to the Commanders' decisions. I'm not at liberty to generalize our goals." Spako says formally. He's a little annoyed at the half-dragons dismissive statements.

"Is it possible to speak to one of the Commanders then?" The Commandant can tell this isn't going well. This dragon isn't taking her questions seriously at all. Maybe it's just not possible to get information through official channels. Maybe it's not his fault. Considering that, her expression softens. "You're very shiny and all, but we need to hear from someone who is at liberty to speak about your goals."

[Shadowcaller]

[Where the Wild Warriors Are]

Anika approaches Wenomir, wherever he might be. She will of course knock if he happens to be in the loo. "Hey, I need to talk to you. It might be urgent."

Anika will find Wenomir there, looking over some maps.

"Everything is always urgent. What is it?"

"Well I can certainly get you an appointment for a few days from now. They are very busy leading the war effort and all. I can assure you that we do our best but...really, we haven't done much else besides this demon war lately. What does Southsode want from us?" Spako asks, trying to dig through files with his big talons.

"Information, as I told you. We want to be sure that we can both work towards a safe, stable world without being at cross-purposes."
The Commandant gives a knowing shrug.
"If they're busy fighting demons, all the better to them. I'll speak to them when I can. You don't seem too busy, though. "

[Shadowcaller]

Anika will find Wenomir there, looking over some maps.

"Everything is always urgent. What is it?"

[Command Center]

"I just got contacted by a former 'colleague' of mine, with empathize on former, called Shanti. She's kinda crazy, so keep that in mind. She contacted me through a dream, its a druid thing, and it seems like she's being hunted by some mercenary organization called 'KABAL'. I swear I heard it before, just can't recall where. However, she told me that she wants my help getting out of skyside or KABAL is going to kill her, apparently they've already massacred all her 'people' and now they're coming for her." Anika explains as she looks down on Wenomir. Talking to humans this much would give her neck pain eventually, why were they all so short? "Now, I'm pretty sure she got into this on her own, so I'm not really sure we should take the risk to help her out. But she promised valuable information if we did."

Wenomir frowns. Well, he's frowning more or less all the time. But now the frown deepens.

"KABAL. A reporter claimed that the bloated carcass who made that... show about us has something to do with them. I wouldn't mind finding out more."

"Information, as I told you. We want to be sure that we can both work towards a safe, stable world without being at cross-purposes."
The Commandant gives a knowing shrug.

"I'm just sitting here so nobody tries raiding the desk! The person who works here is off on lunch break, and I just ate is all." Spako can't help it if heat and food make him sleepy. It's a very sleepy day for a reptile, is all.

Wenomir frowns. Well, he's frowning more or less all the time. But now the frown deepens.

Anika slaps her own forehead. "Oh right! That goblin-gal at the parade! That means those other little buggers around here are with this KABAL gang? That's really bad if its true." She bares her pointy canines with what is unlikely to be a grin. It was a habit she had gained from being animal part-time. "So that means we're getting her out of there then, huh? I'd do it myself, but I don't even know the way to skyside."

"Vigil sounds promising," Veya smiles, liking the thought of working with them to suppress the forces of darkness.

"I'm sorry for your loss," she frowns after hearing the rest of what Wenomir had to say, "how many people are currently members of Vigil?"

"I'm just sitting here so nobody tries raiding the desk! The person who works here is off on lunch break, and I just ate is all." Spako can't help it if heat and food make him sleepy. It's a very sleepy day for a reptile, is all.

"Should I leave you to 'guarding the desk' then?" the Commandant offers.
She gets out a scrap of paper and writes something.
"Here's a number. Call when an appointment opens up or just, whenever." This is where Ruby would say something about Southside being all ears, but she doesn't have external ears. It would be strange.
