"There's about a dozen of us at any given time," Wenomir says. "Members come and go, but some stay for a while. Like myself, or Mia here. We also have a civilian staff."

[Command Center]

"Yes, I imagine we are," Wenomir says. He smiles without humour. "Maybe we'll burn them to the ground, and won't have to deal with that cartoon, or their television show, anymore."

[Deathkeeper]

The Academy- Reception

"Well I guess the desk doesn't strictly need guarding, Miss...?" Spako trails off. Ruby only introduced herself as representing Southside.
Spako frowns at the paper and shifts into his kobold shape so he can easily slip it into his pocket.

[Recaiden]

[The Academy - Reception]

"Commandant Ruby Ignitis. Pleased to meet you."
Her eyes go wide when Spako transforms.
"Oh! That's something you don't see everyday."

[Deathkeeper]

"What, this? Pretty normal dragon ability. I can only be three things, though." Spako admits, sitting down on the desk and kicking his legs idly. He's much smaller than Ruby all of a sudden. Child-sized.

[Recaiden]

[The Academy - Reception]

"What's the third?" The Commandant inquires. She certainly isn't expecting a bird.
"I'd heard of dragons changing shape. None of us can do anything like that, though, so it must be pretty different from, say, breathing fire."
Some people would mutter something bitter about flying, but not Ruby! Her siblings with wings can't move like she can, manipulate like she can. No, every day is a great day to be the way she is!

She takes a seat next to him on the desk, looking this kobold form up and down.

Spako's kobold shape is a very dragony kobold. Ugly pest to some, cute cuddly lizard to others.
"Oh, it's a little red bird. Who is Us exactly?" she looks like a half-dragon but then wouldn't her father or mother be able to do it?

[Shadowcaller]

[Command Center]

"Great, so who are we bringing along? Just the two of us?" Anika asks with a smile. "I've been itching for some real action."

[Recaiden]

Cute cuddly lizard to them!
"I mean my siblings and I. But I never heard of our dragonfather changing shape either."

Spako looks at her, interested.
"Oh, your father was the dragon? Who is he? Would I know him?" he asks. He doesn't know many Nexus dragons by name but some have some fame as businessmen and other things.

[Recaiden]

[The Academy - Reception]

"Ravrarath." He was mostly known for creating volcanoes and eating people. But he hasn't been seen in years and years.
"We're not really on speaking terms." Ruby admits, with a wistful look out the nearest window.
"I only know what our human mother and father told us, really."

"You never told me your name, mister."

Spako sticks out a hand for her.
"I'm sorry Miss Ignitis. It's Spako Highclaws. You shouldn't worry about him. I never knew my dragon ancestor." he assures her. Though he certainly acted like he had...

[Recaiden]

[The Academy - Lobby]

Ruby twists to face him, and a firm handshake ensues.
"Oh, we're not meeting the commanders or anything, so it's just 'Ruby'."
She raises an eyebrow at the implications of that.
"So you had non-dragon ancestors? Kobolds or birds, I'm guessing? But you turned out like this anyway."

"I don't know who the dragon was to me. We didn't keep records of whose egg was whose. So I don't know what percentage of dragon I really was. I was born this way, mostly. Magic got me the rest of the way, you see." Spako explains to Ruby.

[Morty]

[Command Center]

Wenomir considers this.

"I'll see if I can get one of our newer members on this," he decides. "They need to see action under the Vigil banner."

[Shadowcaller]

[Command Center]

"Sure, I love working with new people." Anika declares confidentially. "I can show them all the ropes. Just send them to me and I'll make sure they all return in one piece."

[Lazorath]

Training Grounds

"Well I would love to join you, anything to repel the forces of darkness," she abruptly pauses, "I still have to find something for my friend once we've powered the island, but once I do I'll have more time to lend support to your organization."

[Recaiden]

Ruby considers.
"Do you miss not knowing your family?" She asks. It might be different for proper dragons.
"Oh, and could you tell me how you came to join VIGIL?" That shouldn't need any higher-ups, but it might still be enlightening.

[Morty]

[Command Center]

"Alright. I'll send someone." Wenomir calls for one of the staff and asks them to fetch Xavouir.

[Training Grounds]

"What do you need to find?" Wenomir asks. "And I'd still like you to demonstrate your archery. We've got plenty of spare bows here."

[Deathkeeper]

"I mean, I knew everyone in the clan. And pretty much all of them were dragon-worshipping crazies. So that being why I left, I don't have any real attachment to my blood except my dragon ancestor.

As for here, I met a cursed knight who wanted to do good and he convinced me to join Vigil with him. I don't know where he ended up." the kobold admits.

[Recaiden]

[The Academy - Reception]

"I see." The Commandant quickly grows cool. This is going nowhere.
"Thank you for answering my questions, but I should be getting on my way."
She gets to her feet and heads out towards the shuttles down to the surface.

[Celticbear]

Command Center

A very tall man wearing hooded green robes walks in. He wears a mithral chain shirt over the robes, and wears a black bladed weapon. This weapon has a large catlike eyeball upon it's pommel, and the pupil appears to study the movement of every person in the command center.

You rang? says Xavouir.

[Morty]

[Command Center]

"Anika has brought a matter that requires Vigil attention. And since you're a new member, I decided to bring you along," Wenomir says. "We'll be rescuing someone from a gang of mercenaries."

[Shadowcaller]

Command Center

"Yeah, a crazy person." Anika decides to chime in as she approaches the two. "So you better be prepared for craziness, and, uh, you know where Skyside is right? Since that's kinda required."

[Celticbear]

Command Center

Kitty knows where Skyside is, and she says that she lives with crazy. Don't know where she got that idea. says Xavouir while gesturing to his sword.

[Shadowcaller]

Command Center

"There are different brands of crazy, my man. This one is religious crazy, one of the worst kinds of crazy." Anika argues. "But are you ready to go then? I hope you can fly, or something, since I don't want to take some lame ship up there." That would let her miss out on all the fun of flying there!

[Morty]

[Command Center]

"I can't fly, and I have a score to settle with those people," Wenomir says. "So we'll use a ship. There's plenty of those flying there."

[Lazorath]

[Training Grounds]

"A lost weapon that belongs to a friend of mine within my division. The last piece of potentially valuable information I received was that it had been transported to an underground facility that used to be a civilization. I was told to make my way southwest, and somehow ended up here, " she sighs at the fact that she'd been falling behind at her initial task, "it's crucial that I find it fast," she speaks whilst approaching the spare bows, "what will I be aiming for?" she questions as she looks back to Wenomir and Mia.

[Celticbear]

Command Center

Ship it is! boldly states Xavouir. Let us set sail for justice!

[Shadowcaller]

Command Center

"Seriously? I guess I can fly besides it then." If she can fly as fast as the ship that is. But either way, off the go I suppose.

[Morty]

[Command Center]

Off they go indeed.

[Training Grounds]

"Can't really help you with that, so..." Wenomir fiddles with a control panel. Several differently-sized targets begin moving back and forth on the training grounds. "You have ten shots. Hit as many as you can."
