The endless cycle (3.5 trying out pbp)

Yonaton takes a moment to look at the still form of the half dragon and let's out a sigh. Leaving him felt cold, but Yonaton was a man of logic. There was no way for him to save him and he'd only add one more body to the count by risking the trap.

"Let's go. He is beyond our help."

As Frederick hears the parties decision to leave the dragon, a look of sadness rolls across his face. "Are we certain there's nothing more we can do for him?" he asks, looking down the hall and already knowing the horrifying answer. He hangs his head in silence as his hands now grasp his holy symbol.

Torgham calms down a bit.

"I'm sorry, Frederick. May he continue his journey elsewhere." He makes a gesture, as if casting a spell, but he says nothing.

Torgham leads the way once again down the path he burned a hole through. As he does, he talks to the rest of the group.

"We need to stay close," he says with his uncharacteristically articulate tone. "If there are more traps down this way, we can't make it past them. If that is the case, we might be able to hide in this exceptionally colossal room, using the spider's carcasses. He glances backwards at Frederick to signal that he's now talking to him. "I know it is our job as followers of the divine to save everyone, but that isn't always possible. That said, there may be more foes to vanquish down this hall, and I need--we need--our strength in the front to protect those we can help. For... wait, what did the dragon say his name was?

it sounds like they are nearly done with the door, maybe 10 mins left

The party briefly mourns sir nameless and moves on down the path that had spiders, they notice it gets brighter the farther they go untill..they come out into a cavernous area!! There is a path going onwards..and a large opening that gives a wonderful view of..a waterfall?? But there is no noise ( probly my last post for today, girlfriend is sick and baby is fussing)

The party does see or hear anything strange, although they see. Yonaton pick up a rock and throw it out of the waterfall area with nothing strange happening.

After about 2 minutes ( leaving 7 for information thorgam knows) there is a rumbling feeling and out of the ground bursts a large armor plated mouth!!! Oh..with legs

Ok so after the monster's surprising entrance, the first to react is..the paladin fredrick!! Then dave musters his str and goes after!! Thorgam and yonaton show a bit more surprise and hesitate letting monster go before them!!

Fredrick looks like a turtle! !! He tightens his defence and forgoes offense for this round. Then Dave surges forward hoping to deal damage..but its armored body is just to much for poor dave ans his weakened self!! Then..the monster retaliates!!! It takes a vicious bite out of dave for him missing its itchy spot

Since thorgam said he tells yall... His history of the world has him recalling numerous sightings of beasts like this...its a bullete!! But this on seems smaller than he recalls..maybe its a baby?

With that info in hand ( ima say everyone gets to add +2 to attacks on it..since we are rolling bad) thorgam goes for what he thinks is its weakness!!

But his great sword gets denied by the creatures plated body

Yonaton tries to move so he is positioned just 20 ft away from the creature. "Let's see if you can feel fear."

Cast cause fear on the creature. Dc: 14 will. Frightened for (1d4)[2] if failed, shaken 1 round if successful.

If within 20 ft will save dc:14 shaken for 1 minute due to dreadful wrath if failed.

Yonaton steps back and starts casting magic!! The very air feels colder and the world seems like a darker place as cause fear happens!!

Dave goes next. ..in the meantime the bullete notices the smell of...dwarf!! Its hated foe it turns and jumps!!! Doing so provokes aoo from dave,fredrick, and thorgam but it strikes with all 4 claws!!
