The hobgoblin flings the door open and tumbles back and out of the way.

Suga steals a quick look and sniff inside the opened door.

Feagon stands ready, fletching to his cheek, as the door is flung open.

Anticlimactically, the room on the other side appears to be a featureless 20-by-20 stone room, with no exits except the one door you got burned opening.

"Hmmm... should we inspect this room or move on?"

Tarak

"Well...the mission is to eliminate the dwarven forces occupying this level, so if there is no opposition, I say we move on. Grack?"

Celesta look disappointed at the empty room. "No one there. Let's move."

[Cavir]

Y"es, the door over there?" Suga points to the south door. Heads down that way. Wary of another trap, he keeps enough distance to be clear of another trap. He sniffs, the air, hoping to pick up the scent of any dwarves around.

[Kish]

"It looks like the whole room was a trap. Either that, or the Maker of Death stored something there once centuries ago," Grack says.

As Suga starts toward the south door, it abruptly swings open. You hear a female voice saying,

"I tell you I heard something."

The (male, you think) dwarf who opened the door blinks at you, looking shocked, then grabs for his axe.

Suga goes from walking to the far door to sprinting in a flash. "Keep them at the door!" As he closes to the first dwarf he raises his dire axe and times the slash to when the dwarf would be just in reach.

Not sure what the area marked as 'v' is on the map, but I assume it can't be crossed (or at least charged through), so double move to AR20. Speed 40 ft.

Grack draws his sword and starts running around the edge of the room toward the door. You hear chanting from the room to the south in a female voice. Another (also, you think, male) dwarf emerges from the room and tries to cut Suga with a dwarven waraxe.

Suga didn't know what the latest dwarf said as he attacked, but it was obviously full of hate. Suga kept his focus, eyeing a weakness in the dwarf's stance, and struck at it.

Gorm Gulthyn is the god of watchfulness and defense. You believe most--but not all--of his followers are good, though nearly all are stern and often humorless. Actively pursuing a policy of genocide would be surprising but not impossible, if a particular worshiper, even a priest, defined "defense" in a sufficiently twisted way.

Suga did cut the dwarf, but the dwarf cut him back just as deep. Suga continued his assault.
