The elemental slams hard again into Suga. Orc hardiness was the only thing keeping him on his feet, but even he would fall with another hit like that. He refocuses and strikes back with precision while still on guard then takes a step back.

As the earthen creature tumbles to the ground, the hobgoblin steps lightly through the rubble and places his hands on his orc friend, "Hold still ya big lout."

"Hahahahaha! Take that, piece of rock!" Celesta laughs and kicks a part of the crumbled golem away. Then she walks up and smacks Suga on the shoulder, in what she considers to be in a friendly manner. "Damn, you took a direct hit to the face and didn't even flinch! I like you!" She laughs some more and seeks a little bit of support from her spear, as her battle rage fades away, and a cold shiver passes through her. "What next?", she asks, the question mainly directed to Grack.

[Kish]

"*huff* We go further in? I don't know what's past this point," Grack replies.

[Cavir]

The elemental fell apart from the combination of blows. Suga seemingly just stood there breathing heavily. In his mind he ran through the fight again. He had been overwhelmed and he would learn from it. Tarak's healing touch brought him back to the present. He used his own healing belt on himself too while nodding in thanks.

Then she walks up and smacks Suga on the shoulder, in what she considers to be in a friendly manner. "Damn, you took a direct hit to the face and didn't even flinch! I like you!"

"Maybe that hit made my face less scary for town merchants? Ha!"

"*huff* We go further in? I don't know what's past this point," Grack replies.

Suga looked down at his collection of dwarven beards and thought some more. "30 dwarves you said? I have 20 beards plus the three outside of the main gate. If Ulf can summon the rest as help, then best to deal with as many as possible now when they are split up. Overnight if they don't realize their lack of numbers then they dumber than people say of orcs."

"Ulf is a crusader. He'll be harder to take down than his followers. No followers to help him the best. Search the western path here? Grack, Zuhgan have any healers back there?"

"There was a priest, but we already killed her," Grack replies. "Oh, sorry, still thinking about the elemental; yes, Kagatami should be able to heal us."

"Suga and Celesta could both use a bit of healing. We do have a number of curative potions though if we want to try to continue."

"Here. Drink this." Tarak hands Suga one of his potions.

Then moves off toward the corridor leading away from where they had just come from. He pauses in the hall just before the doors and begins to examine the area for any traps.

Tarak finds no traps.

[Cavir]

Suga takes and quaffs the offered potion. "Thanks." Tarak heads towards the east passage and Suga gives him a puzzled look. He heads to the east side of the water so he's in a position to support the hobgoblin. He looks toward the south where the party came from then back to Tarak. "The doors on the right might also lead to Ulf. Careful. Better to leave those for later?"

The hobgoblin looks back at Suga, "Maybe. Let's find out."

He steps to the door and opens it.

[Kish]

This room looks like it was once a bedroom. It appears to have been ransacked years or decades ago. Furniture lies scattered around the room.

[razorback]

"Good. No priest spells for Ulf."

Feagon just arches an eyebrow at Suga's comment but lets it drop.

Suga moves up to the door Tarak just opened and peers in too. He then turns to face down the hallway, trying to pick up any scents of dwarves.

Oops, I had read AM8 not AM6, thus Suga's comment.

[Kish]

Suga smells no dwarves. He smells an odor of decay from the west and something he doesn't recognize from the east.

[CWater]

Celesta follows close behind Suga, spear readied to strike anything hostile.

[Cavir]

"Huh. Decay smell I caught must have been down the other way.... Something down this way I don't recognize." Suga keeps track of the smell, trying to get a better sense of Where.

Tarak

"By 'decay', you of course mean 'death'."

Looking back at his large friend, "I know you think I'm being silly, my friend, but I was serious earlier when I said I'll have no part in defiling any remains or final resting places of the dead. If you want to go back that way and look, however, I will not attempt to stop you."

Closing the door and nodding to the others that lay before them, "For my part, I would investigate these rooms here along this hall. If you desire otherwise, simply say the word and I'll wait for you."

[Kish]

The strange smell comes from directly east, the decay smell from directly west. It is unlikely that the decay smell is passing through a solid wall from Durgeddin's tomb (or that the strange smell is passing through a solid wall, either).

The side rooms close enough to smell smell musty and little else.

While he cannot smell it himself, the description unsettles the elf slightly as he turns a nose up and away from where Suga commented. "Death and decay are part of the circle of life but it doesn't mean I enjoy it. Perhaps it is good for us, perhaps not. Let us up for the former. Either way, if you don't recognize if, we should move with caution and check these out, if for nothing more than to make sure whatever it is isn't hostile and sneaking up behind us." he says solmnely as he begins moving east cautious and quietly, bow up.

"Sure, fine", Celesta replies, a little grumpily. Staying at the back wasn't really to her liking. However, she thought, they were not a big group, if a fight broke out she could quickly close the distance. "Let's move."

The hobgoblin moves along the hallway, stopping and check the next door for traps/locks before opening it.
