Re: WANTED: Vigilante Justice
Day 3 has ended! Night 3 will begin shortly
- - - Updated - - -
Worston was looking more and more like a ghost town. Most people didn't come out of their homes, and those that did were sullen, haunted, or violent - not to mention all the killings and bandits. Certainly no one was looking to buy her wares, not even if they were the 'Best in the West'. Still it was better than Nevada! In fact...
"Is that an angry mob?"
Maybe Nevada would be better, after all. For now, it was time to run for the hills!

Re: WANTED: Vigilante Justice
Logic here, checking in.
I'm replacing Lex-Kat. I am claiming that I have $0, and no known equipment/items. I'll use this phase to try and catch up.
*Psst!* It's night! No voting!
So, I'm a little confused whyLex-Kat/Logic had no wagon of any kind yesterday. There should have been something to follow up the Murska lynch.

Re: WANTED: Vigilante Justice
I was largely avoiding the autolynchees, on the offchance that the people replacing them would perhaps actually contribute to the game in their stead - which I'm glad to see is panning out, in a sense. Killing Sanity was probably the wrong move, but it gives town more information than it had, so that's something.

Re: WANTED: Vigilante Justice
A man, sporting his beard in a Van Buren and dressed sharper than most, strolls into town.
"Hello all, the name is Dominic Cole. I came looking for my estranged wife, Annabelle. Last I heard, she was in these parts. I reckon I'll get nothing done without first resolving this lawlessness. I should warn you lawbreakers, I have experience combatting lawbreakers, in the War of Southern Rebellion. Corporal Cole, 2nd Bugler's Corps, at your service."
((EDIT: RE: Strategy; As an aside, I am going to be off-wagon in case of overwhelming wagons. First, it clears more once cash payouts are called out, and because it makes sense to consolidate some of the cash in a handful of people where possible as they can afford better gear. Yes, this is a risky strategy, but I hope you guys can see what I am going for here.))

"Sherrif! Sherrif! Big news!"
"Sakes, man, th' sun ain't even up yet! What'r ye hollerin' on 'bout, now?"
"It's that Sarspariller stranger, Sherrif - y'know that feller what shot that dude t' other day? He done got up 'n th' middle o' th' night 'n walked out the saloon like some kind of cuss'd hero talkin' 'bout takin' Mac all by his lonesome self. I done tried talkin' him down, Sheriff, but he done kicked me off, got on his hoss 'n took off all on his lonesome."
"Did he get him? Any of 'em?"
"Can't say, Sheriff. I followed fer a bit, but once I heard the shootin', I ran full chisel. His horse done showed up at the saloon 'fore I did, so I reckon him fer a gone sucker."
"Well, nothin' for it. Sometimes a man's just got ta fight on his own hook. May God have mercy on his soul."
"Amen, Sheriff. Amen."

"It seems the sheriff has been doing some investigating. And since I just got here, he knows I'm not guilty if these crimes, and confided in me. He's found one o' the bandits, and he needs your help to git 'im! The scoundrel he named, is none other than your scroundel playin' barkeep, Ramsus."

Considering I'm the Sheriff, your "seer" must be a wolf. Or maybe it's just you Logic?

Re: WANTED: Vigilante Justice
Barring a significantly convincing argument, I'm going to put my vote on Ramsus. Presuming that you are the Sheriff, Logic (or Logic's fake seer contact) is pretty unlikely that their seer-confirmed "bandit" turned out to be the real sheriff. Even less believable is that the real Sheriff would immediately and personally counter-claim themselves. That the seer would have the false-seer get counter-claimed, plenty believable. That the real seer would do so themselves, rather than via a proxy, seems pretty wasteful. You've essentially guaranteed as seer that you're dying tonight, and all for the sake of...what, catching a single wolf? With 10 players still alive, and at least a few more days before mislynches could cause town to lose, that seems awfully wasteful of future scries. Unless...unless you haven't scried a single townie you can get to claim on your behalf? That's an awful lot of bad luck for one person, and more than I personally am willing to believe right now.
If you're the Sheriff, you've chosen a pretty awful knee-jerk reaction to getting accused, and town is probably screwed anyway. So let's see if you're a caught Bandit, or a bad Sheriff? I know which one I'm betting on.

Re: WANTED: Vigilante Justice
What? What?
I'll reread the thread when I wrestle the computer away from my youngest. Seems like this will be an important lynch.
- - - Updated - - -
Okay so not a single bandit was killed in the entire game....why couldn't I replace a bandit?
A false seer claim in the first post is quite doubtful so I'll go with Ramsus

Re: WANTED: Vigilante Justice
Ramsus I'm sorry bud but your counter claim does look a little desperate.
Also seeing as Logic replaced Lex-Kat who was the saved party the day Murska was killed if Logic is wrong it will confirm my initial suspicion about that wagon.

Re: WANTED: Vigilante Justice
Right. Because "Hey guys. Yo. Totally don't lynch Ramsus. The seer I'm not naming told me they're a person we shouldn't lynch." is somehow going to not result in the wolves killing me in the night. *rolls eyes*
AV's logic here is terrible. There's no point in outing someone else in my network. That just means two valuable people to town die sooner instead of just one. I'm already a target that the wolves are quite obviously non-randomly trying to get killed. They're just hoping to get me lynched today rather than having to spend a night kill on me because every mislynch they can get brings them closer to victory.
I'm voting for Logic because he hasn't named his seer so I have no better target. It pressures them into revealing the false seer. And of course it's just as possible Logic is a wolf themselves and there isn't any seer claimant at all.

Re: WANTED: Vigilante Justice
The problem you've got Ramsus is that your counter argument to a seer claim was 'no, I am the seer' why would we take your word over Logic's?
What additional evidence do you have?
To be honest at the moment its your claim against Logic's and without further evidence I'm gonna go with person brave enough to put themselves out there without being backed into a corner first.

Re: WANTED: Vigilante Justice
No Logic, I will not kindly hand wolves networked people to kill.
@Fin: Right that makes sense. Because there's ANY REASON AT ALL FOR A SEER TO JUST RANDOMLY CLAIM AT THE START OF THE DAY? What? Seriously, think about what you said for a moment. It's not a question of bravery or not in my case. It's a question of stupidity or not. If I have any networked people, I don't claim for absolutely no reason because that just tells the wolves to kill me. If I have any networked people and I've scried a wolf, one of them proxies for me. If I have any networked people and I have no scried a wolf... I don't claim for absolutely no reason and if I'm accused I don't paint a target on them too because a network is still valuable and I'm already going to die.
Really people. Note how I haven't been counterclaimed. Whoever Logic's "seer" is, they're obviously lying or Logic is.Last edited by Ramsus; 2017-07-01 at 12:30 PM.

Re: WANTED: Vigilante Justice
Don't forget if Logic is wrong you also just lynched an uncounterclaimed seer. So it's not "oh whoops, doesn't matter" level here.
And we don't know for sure if Logic is a wolf or just being lied to by one.Last edited by Ramsus; 2017-07-01 at 12:32 PM.

Re: WANTED: Vigilante Justice
You are counter claiming Logic who is acting as a proxy so of course no one is counter claiming you.
The strategy may not be the best but nothing has changed the 'his word against yours' scenario. You need to give us something that is more substantial than what Logic has given us, the name of a supposedly scried wolf. Logic has given us something provable. You have just claimed seer and offered noyhing else so why would we believe you?
Now, Logic could be the fool if there is one but I'm not sure based on the rules. But again with the evidence stacked as follows;
1. Logic is claiming Ramsus is scried a wolf
2. Ramsus is counter claiming that he is in fact the seer
We can only go with the option that is provable. Yes if we're wrong we lose the seer but gain a wolf (sadly everyone is voting for you so we aren't gonna gain much more info than that) and if we are right we still get our wolf.Last edited by Fin; 2017-07-01 at 03:34 PM.

Re: WANTED: Vigilante Justice
If I had scried a wolf I would have lead with that. You're badly missing the point that I've claimed Sheriff and nobody else has. If I'm not the Sheriff, someone else should be countering my claim. Given that nobody is and you're continuing to try and lynch me, it just shows that you don't actually care if you lynch the seer.
Your logic doesn't work. I'm not claiming against Logic. They aren't claiming Sheriff. I'm the only person claiming Sheriff. Given that nobody else is doing so, you're just giving the wolves a free lynch (of the seer no less) without any kind of contest. This is very bad town play.

Re: WANTED: Vigilante Justice
I do see one possible reason against a counter-claim (if Ramsus is not the Seer); if the actual Seer claims then the wolves now have a target for their night kill. By keeping quiet they are keeping the wolves guessing.
