Vulas, is the name. I'm sorry when investigating and when fighting occurs I loose formalities, they don't occur to me during these situations. Vulas follows Avery up the stairs leaving about 5 feet between them.

Avery moves into a small living space. "There!" he shouts, seeing a man laying on a bed. He moves over to the man and examines him.

[Darius Vibrtrar]

The young man startles up, his movements are exaggerated, much like a young pup unused to his growing body.

"Woah! Whose there!"

His eyes squint adjusting to the light in the room.

[clarison]

"We are Deputies of the town appointed by Aldo the Constable, the children are missing and we are searching for the puppet maker who we believe is behind this"

As jail speak he scans the room

The man tilts his head a little looking at the group of people who had come upstairs. He reaches up his hand and fixes his head to be straight again.

"Oh! Well then! I'm Dom. Immmmmmmm the night guard. Let me get you something to drink while you visit my home. "

He suddenly lurches forward toward the bedside table but knocks over the bottle there, almost comically catching it before it hit the ground. He offers the dark bottle to the group.

"It's something for the stormy night. The puppet Master hasn't been up here tonight. "

[clarison]

"No time to drink this is an emergency the children are missing!"

Looks over to Vulas

"We should hurry the search"

Avery narrows his eyes. The man is acting very strange. He peers above the man's head, searching for something unlikely- puppet strings.

Perception: (1d20)[14]

[Darius Vibrtrar]

Do looks curiously at the group

"The children? I heard some running through the back Alley a bit ago. Are you sure you didn't just lost them?"

He attempts to stand but he has troubles as his knees buckle and tremble.

" If you are looking for the puppet Master... He's probably at his shop..."

[clarison]

"Right then Vulas i think its time we go to his shop he seems like an honest person"

[Dagron]

Vulas with a slightly puzzled look on his face asks Dom a few questions. You didn't hear any of the screaming and fighting that was going on outside? Vulas pauses and waits for and answer.

Perception (1d20)[11]

[Darius Vibrtrar]

Dom attempts to scratch his head but ends up scratching the air about 1 inch above his head.

" I don't often hear anything front the front back here. I can hear the alley really well though.".

The sound of running feat and a child's laughter can be heard from outside as he says that.

[Dagron]

Vulas takes his staff and waves it over Dom's head.

After not feeling strings Vulas pulled out his wand of detect Magic.

He uses two charges one aimed at the Door ahead of them and then another he aims at Dom.

There's Something Fishy going on here and I'm going to make sure no one's pulling my strings.

[Andrew Markham]

"He's trying to distract us. Along with puppeteering, he might also be a ventriloquist. We might be close. Search this floor. If he tries to get in our way, knock him out," Avery orders.

[Dagron]

Vulas puts his wand away and opens the next door.

[Darius Vibrtrar]

Dom tilts his head in the other direction, his hand pointing to his chest.

"This Guy? You mean me? No no. Immmm just the Night Guard. No tricks here"

As Vulas opens the door he finds another room. This room is about 30 feet by 20 feet in size. The walls are filled with racks of clothes. Boxes under the racks hold shoes, fabrics, and fake jewelry. In the center of the room are a couple of tables, chairs, and a good selection of tools for tailoring costumes. There is a small window for ventelation, not big enough for even a child to crawl through, but enough to let fresh air in. It is currently open, and you can still hear a child running in the distance.

"Im trusting you here Vulas"

Jail keeps his bow pointed at the man

"Just a formality i do apologize"

[Dagron]

Vulas searched the room. Making sure that there is nothing and no one hiding including puppets.
Make sure we all keep close but lets no all be in the same room at the moment. Just in case there's a trap here.

Perception (1d20)[1]

After Vulas searches the room from top to bottom digging through chests and such. he goes back out to where Dom is.

Nothing in here. I don't see how a charlatan like Guiseppe could have fooled so many people. I mean granted his performances were not that great probably on reason he wore that mask right Dom. Vulas pauses and looks over at Dom. The spells he uses are impressive but the most interesting thing in this entire town is Fagilo. Vulas showing some admiration in his speech. A living puppet that I have never seen nor heard of til now. But that still all he is....A puppet or maybe he's not maybe Guiseppe became the puppet after loosing control, I mean he seems awfully weak and timid hiding behind children and dolls.

[Darius Vibrtrar]

Dom tilted head the other way.
" .... What?!..."

Dom blinked his eyes before looking to Avery.

"Has he had too much to drink at the festival? Gesepi is no magic user he's a puppet Master... What children has he been using ?"

[EdgeGrinder]

Prutina cleared her throat. "I heard from a creditable source that something is afoot at the toy store. Perhaps, we should all check there." The halfling suggested.

[Dagron]

Then let us be off. Though I don't see how the Puppeteer got through here.

Vulas turns to go out still intrigued by what is going on here focuses on the current situation.

[clarison]

"Let us make haste"

[Andrew Markham]

"Gentlemen, perhaps we should investigate something more immediate, like the children going through the alley down there. Where are they coming from? Might be an easier way. If we find nothing, we'll see where they're going," Avery suggests.

[clarison]

Jail moves toward the rear exit of the theater and heads in the direction the child was heading

Prutina considered Avery's suggestion. "You have a point, Mister Avery. I agree with your suggestion. If the trail leads us to the toy store, that would serendipitous. Hm, perhaps that isn't the word." she replied, remembering her brief time in the toy store.

[Dagron]

Vulas, goes with the opinion of group. And follows behind

Avery, Prutina, and Vulas all go downstairs and out the back door into the Allyway of the city. Looking up they see fog has rolled in, looking left and right, the fog limits vision out to about 120 feet, where vision gets hazey. The group is able to keep up with the half elf who runs down the ally toward the west, when the ally opens up to the Main street he hangs a left and stops in front of the Toy Shop. The group is able to keep up with him, but they do not see any children. From the south the sound of horses can be heard upon the cobblestone street. Wooden wheels of a carriage can be heard gaining speed. The carriage then bursts out of the haze-shrouded mists, careening toward the group.

You can see there are multiple Carrionettes riding on top of the carriage.

You are able to see that the two horses pulling the carriage also have carionettes, and there is a Carrionette in the rider position holding the reigns.

"We have more of those murderous toys on the carriage, on the horses, and driving it." Prutina reported.

She slinked off into the shadows to sneak toward the carriage.

Vulas quickly slides to the wall directly east of him hoping to avoid the carriage.

Avery squats down, moves his rod to his right side, braces himself against it, and presses the 5th button. The rod thickens and extends, becoming a large metal battering ram. He grips it tightly and prepares for incoming damage.
