Hearthstone 20: What is your Quest?

It isn't that uncommon to go below 15 life in arena and while a 10 mana 8/8 isn't good it isn't nearly as bad as it is in constructed (and a 7 mana 8/8 is actually decent).

Small time recruits seems like a bad pick as currently you are paying 4 mana for a single 1 mana card (and most 1 mana minions offered to paladin aren't good). They can get argent squire, selfless hero, mistress of mixtures, worgen infiltrator, shifter Zerus and maybe fire fly as good or decent one drops but most of the others suck. It is entirely possible they simply aren't offered another good 1 mana card and at that point small time recruits is 3 mana cycle a card or 3 mana do nothing if they got it first turn.

Arcane giant is more arguable but I feel unless they draft a lot of spells quickly they are more likely to have a playable molten giant over a playable arcane giant.

I'd have taken that small-time recruits there. You want more 1-drops in that deck, and as between a pick of 3 probably dead cards, at least the recruits can be played early to grab something and thin your deck. A painfully slow start is better than no start.

Unlike other pack trackers, this one doesn't require manual entry.

Just gave it a try and opened my pack from the brawl, seems to work pretty seamlessly, just leave it open in a tab in the background after the initial setup and come back to check your luck when you're done.

Also remember to play the adventure first and then open your packs if you want a Death Knight hero. No the adventure will not give you a duplicate DK.

One thing I don't like about this expansion, is that there will never be a lich king (No, proper Deathknight class). Which is especially sad because they even designed the card frames.

For the hero power, they could either have gone with a charging 1/1 ghoul which sacrifices itself, or freeze target minion. Both would be cool. I kind of get why they did it, but still.

(Like, for the long term, they could have made the missions grant basic death knight cards, have extra cards in this set, and when it rotates move half of the cards to the Classic set)

However, I've tried logging in and there's a queue (to be expected)

Edit: I'm in. Saw a thing for 3 packs, but I only got the 3 packs from the arena quests from the Frost Festival.

Okay, so opened 106 packs just now, plan to do about 80 more later but I need to start getting ready for work. My legendary pulls so far include:

Arfus
Bolvar
Sindragosa
Scourgelord Garrosh
Professor Putricide


According to the pack tracker I posted last night, my overall luck is below average, at -8.35 (average value per pack 89.9 compared to the global average of 98.25). I hit the average expected legendaries if you don't account for the free in the first 10 packs, so in practice I'm down about one legendary from where expected.

I was pretty excited about getting to test out both Control Hunter and Tempo Warrior, so I feel like Putricie/Garrosh are both great pulls for me, and Arfus I am happy just to have as a part of my collection.

So, uh; I just realized prince allows no 2 mana cards at all. I thought it was just 2 mana minions.

Legendaries from packs were Moorabi, Lilian Voss, and Rogue Death Knight, and I got the Mage Death Knight from the prologue. Pretty good haul so far.

I did the adventure first and got no legendaries from my packs. So don't do that, I guess.

So far, I've gotten as far as legendaries go, Uther, Thrall and Anduin heroes. And the priest legendary. Not terrible. The nice thing about the Hero cards is that all of them are cool, so I can't feel disappointed.

I decided to try and play a role the bones deck. It doesnt seem that bad. Its about half deathrattles and I usually draw at least two and often more. More reliable than Wrathion at least.

So, my results for today:

Did Adventure and opened 32 packs (3x Frost Fest Arena, 3x freebies, 1x adventure, 25x gold-bought).

Hero from Adventure: Shadowreaper Anduin
Legendaries from packs: Frost Lich Jaina, Arfus.
Legendary crafted because damn it, he's my most-wanted card of the set: Uther of the Ebon Blade

Besides the legendaries, a fat lot of "meh." Didn't even get two copies of Blood Razor, and that's a common. It's actually made me realize just how many underwhelming and bad cards seem to be in this set, because honestly, aside from legendaries to play with, there's not even that much that I didn't open that I want, even though I didn't open much that I wanted.

While there's definitely a select handful of strong cards here that I think are going to help reshape the meta, this may be the weakest new release we've had since The Grand Tournament. Probably not quite as weak as that set, but still, down there. Maybe I'm overreacting here, possibly because the last couple of sets were both big bombshells that had a lot of strong game-changers, but that's my initial reaction today.
