Contacting moderators about bans?
I have not logged on in a long time but a friend of mine also on this site has been banned, for what he seems to think is an unfair reason. Is there any way that he could contact a moderator to discuss this subject?

Re: Contacting moderators about bans?
There is the "contact us" link at the bottom of the forum. I could swear there was a listing somewhere of the email to send things to, but I cannot find it.

Re: Contacting moderators about bans?
Free advice to OP, worth every penny you paid for it ...
As a rule, any appeal to the mods of this or any forum that starts off with "it's not fair" is probably not going to go over well.
Remember that mods don't ban for single offenses unless you've done something like post a pornographic image. You've got to earn that ban, one offense at a time, over a period of time, and even when you've gone over the ban threshold it's not automatic -- I believe they discuss among themselves whether a ban is truly warranted, or if there's any hope of salvaging the situation. If the consensus is "ban", it happens and it's very hard to reverse.
The approach *I* would use in this case would be to use the "Contact us" button and ask for a dialog. Then, if a mod responds, lay out exactly why you were banned and how it's not going to be a problem in the future. There's really no point in disputing facts with them; it's better to show them that you will be a well-behaved poster from that point on.
You don't have to admit guilt if you believe you're not guilty. But you need to address their perception of guilt and demonstrate how this is not going to be an issue , present and future.
And of course if you have been at fault for something, it's reasonable to attempt to make amends if possible.
That's what I'd do. I don't give it a particularly high probability of success, but I think it's the best shot your friend has.
Respectfully,
