"Be aware the teleport is momentarily disorienting. Hmm. No, too much weight for me to move just yet, nevermind that. Give me a moment. I'll be right back." Vosnak goes back to the room with the coffins, takes the burning lamp hanging by the ceiling, then returns. He sets it on the ground next to him and nods that he is ready, with shield and morningstar in hand.

Jeyne

In response to Ilnesh, Jeyne seems to look down sadly, then turning to the squire she places a hand on his arm and speaks, "Timeon, the amulet that we seek is cursed... It... corrupts their minds. If this is where Sir Balin is, he won't be himself. If you'd prefer to wait at the end of the hallway and guard our rear I will understand."

[Kish]

"No, I've come this far, I'll stay," Timeon says uncertainly.

[Cavir]

Vosnak looked at Jeyne briefly, curious as to what she thought would happen if Sir Balin was behind that door. Suddenly having an armed enemy among their ranks would change things. He figured the boy would have to die having already been indoctrinated to Pelor. Maybe the boy's outlook could be opened up to a world with more than just Pelor, but that was up to Jeyne now. For himself, he thought about the well known fanatic that could be behind the next door.

Jeyne

Jeyne seems to be weighing her options, and with the same concerned look on her face she asks the squire, "How well do you know Sir Balin?"

[Kish]

"I've been his squire for long enough to see him fight and learn about his philosophy." Timeon seems confused by this question.

[Hypersmith]

Ilnesh glances at Timothy, commiting his face to memory.

After a moments thought, he steps over to Vosnak and waves to Seva and Ixe to join them as Jeyne speaks to the boy. "Do we still have need for him? I can impersonate him, get rid of the chance for him to shoot us in the back."

[Cavir]

Quietly, "It'd be wasting a resource. Could be useful later. It's her game."

[Ixe]

Ixe watches the exchange of words between "Mary" and Timeon, saying nothing yet carefully studying the squire's reaction.

Finally, he slinks around the corner to M25, leaning back with his backpack into the corner while he listens to whatever clever plot Ilnesh has in mind.

"How useful really? All we need is his likeness at this point. Can't string him along with lies forever."

[Cavir]

"He's traveled, could know useful stuff outside of here."

[Hypersmith]

"We'll see after this room."

[Kish]

Timeon seems oblivious to the fact that his fate is being debated around the corner.

[Cavir]

Vosnak turns to look back at Jeyne with a querying look.

[Silver Night]

Seva

Seva shrugs, and contributes, "I see no reason to keep him alive. Better not to get caught up in clever plans and end up fighting two enemies instead of one when the time comes."

Jeyne

She notices the group slowly moving to speak among themselves and she dutifully distracted Timeon with some more random small talk, speaking about her mentor, someone from her unit whose fighting style she admired.

While she can't hear what the group is talking about she does notice Vosnak looking at her inquisitively. With her hand hidden from Timeon's view, she gives Vosnak a thumbs down signal. It's not lost on her that there can be only so many things they could be talking about.

[Ixe]

Timeon, with his back turned, is unable to see the sinister, comminatory smirk that slowly spreads across Ixe's visage. He slowly turns, with his loaded crossbow now pointing at the back of Timeon's torso....

[Hypersmith]

Ilnesh puts a hand on Ixe's crossbow and shakes his head, looking him in the eye. "He can lead to little harm in here. I will tail his entrance to make sure of it." He looks about to the others, raising his voice so Jeyne and Timeon can hear him. "Are we ready to proceed?"

[Cavir]

"I'm ready."

[Silver Night]

Seva

Seva grunts in what is probably the affirmative.

[Kish]

Timeon watches, holding Jeyne's crossbow, as you approach the door once again.

Jeyne

Her face never betrays any indication that she cares one way or the other that we're leaving Timeon alive. As the group returns around the door she turns as well and gets herself ready for what is to come.

[Ixe]

Ixe: [whispering to Ilnesh and Vosnak] "Hmm... perhaps we could use him as a hostage. You know: drop your weapons or we kill the lad."

[Cavir]

Vosnak looks to Seva. "Would you do the honors with the door? If there is a fight, defend yourself while I summon help to their rear."

[Hypersmith]

Ilnesh readies two daggers - one with several capsules attached- and whispers his reply. "Only if it gets desperate." He sidles up to the door, and grunts his readiness before pushing it open.

[Kish]

Ilnesh turns the handle. It's locked, but after he pulls on it, clicking sounds emanate from it for thirty seconds (5 rounds pass), then it opens. Inside is a room that resembles a spartan bedroom. A man wearing ornate full plate and the distinct tabard of a Knight of the Alerion seems to have just risen from the single wooden chair. Around his neck hangs what certainly appears to be a silver and sapphire holy symbol of Pelor. He carried a heavy steel shield and has a drawn sword, and looks ready to fight, but he does not lunge for the door as soon as it opens. His eyes pass across each of you, stopping on Ixe. "You! The deranged necrophiliac!" he shouts.

If possible, Seva will cast Magic Weapon on her flail (+1, 3 min), and Conviction (+2 to saves; 3 minutes) on Ilnesh during the 5 round wait.

Seva has moved up to stand by Ilnesh. She will throw a javelin at the apparent Sir Balin and draw her flail.

Seeing the desired silver pendant and Seva attack, Ilnesh does the same, taking advantage of the moment of shock to fling a dagger at the knight. He risks a quick look over his shoulder at Timeon, hoping the others have him in check.

The javelin and dagger bounce off the knight's armor. He lunges forward with a ferocious cry, "For Talingarde!"

Timeon shakes his head. "Enough lies," he says, stepping to the north and firing Jeyne's crossbow at its owner. "That's my master, and the only amulet he's wearing is his holy symbol."
