ooc: went with the 'early afternoon option, since it was midafternoon

Aside from typical grassland pokemon (Ratatta, pidgey, spearow, etc.) You don't see a whole lot of activity as you continue to edge towards the forest. the treeline looms in the distance, forboding despite the efforts of Rangers and volunteer trainers. It stretches further than you can see in either direction.

As you contemplate the woods, you observe that at least one insectoid denizen of Viridian has wandered from it's wooded home. It's carapace is a milky wight, and it drags itself along on 2 spindly hind legs and 2 larger fore-claws.

Eventually deciding to head back to town, you come across a pale yellow, marshmallowly looking pokemon with blue markings and tiny wing like protrusions on it's back. it is snoozing and laying across the dirt road.

A pause in her cadence when she saw that thing crawling on all fours, well maybe two-and-a-halfs since its back legs were quite diminutive. She went to reach for a pokemon to send it out, but winced a bit. He wasn't there, clipped to her belt. She tried not to let the melancholy hold her back, selecting another Pokemon. Out popped...Segull! It floated about, its one solitary eye looking to-and-fro before turning around to face its trainer. She smiled to it, "Hello again...think you're up to helping me out? Though if we do this right, it won't be needed!" She said before taking a few steps forward, Segull following her. She readied a fresh pokeball and hurled it towards the insect!

She picked up her feet from the ground, slowly levitating towards it, not wanting her footsteps to wake it up. She took out a fresh pokeball and tapped it against one of the little winglet like protrusions, letting it go to the ground in case it burst open!

I think your ready to take on the Cerulean City Gym. I'm counting on you okay?" He points to the Ki Badge on his scarf then bumps fists with the amphibian kunoichi.

"Well that went smoother than I thought it would. Let's get going, adventure awaits right?" He says smiling as he looks back to Lucille. "You can either walk down the mountainside with us or I can carry you Kasumi, it's your choice."

It's not long after you start down the mountain again that you hear an echoing caw from overhead. You look up, and at first, don't see anything but a faint speck... but every few seconds you glance up and the speck has grown, now into a dot, not a vague shape, now...

a massive brown bird diving beak first at you and Lucille! It flings it's broad wings wide while it's still a few hundred feet overhead and begins rapidly spiraling down. The bird's wingspan is easily as long as you are tall, it has wicked looking talons and a long spike of a beak. it shrieks again and seems to work itself up into a frenzy.

A rock, disturbed by your passing, tumbles down slope and smacks off another rounded boulder. except this one growls and a stony hand reaches up to hold itself. The geodude pries itself loose from the ground, rubbing at it's forehead, glaring at you. It grabs the rock that bounced off it's head and chucks it back at you, but it goes wide. The geodude growls at you again and starts floating towards you.

Aegwynn will celebrate! Two new captures, two new Pokemon to make friends with and fight alongside. She knew today would get better after such a rough morning. She would make her way back to the Pewter City. She decided to stop by the shop and restock supplies so that she can get going with Ken as well as the his friend, Cassandra and her traveling companion she took the job with that also took her up the mountains for about a week.

Morning came early for Aegwynn...on purpose. 4:30 in the morning, the sunlight not even breaking through the windows yet. She floated out of bed, hovering on over to Lennox’s chosen bed, feet never touching the ground. She held out her hands, whole body still wrapped up in her blankets, and her eyes began to glow. One by one, light blue panels formed into existence, slightly translucent, making things seen through it just slightly blurry. She was using Barrier, one set of the barriers starting from the wall that the headboard sat along and moving across one side of the bed and the foot of his bed as well, extending to two meters in height. She proceeded to the other side of his bed and used the second set of Barriers she had at her disposal to cover the other side of the bed to the wall, and then put a barrier ‘ceiling’ atop the already erected barriers, making a sort of kekkai surrounding Lennox’s bed. She then hovered over to the TV area, and decided to watch TV...until he wakes up that is.

The descent feels just as difficult as the ascent the day before it for the ninja boy as the pair of trainers continue their journey. Though he ends up with a few more scrapes and cuts for his trouble he manages to keep Kasumi and the egg inside of his bag safe from harm.

"Kasumi, Smokescreen!" The foam around the Frogadier's neck expands rapidly until Tyson and his pair of pokemon are enveloped by a veil of cloudy bubbles (It's large enough for Lucille to taker cover in as well). The ninja boy's movement becomes a blur inside the smokescreen.

He walks over and picks up the ball that missed it’s first throw. “Guess we’ll go meet our new friend when we get back to the Center.” Ken and Zippo walk back over to Lennox and continue their adventure with him around the city.

As they return to the Center, Ken will try to see Cassandra and meet up with Aegwynn if she is back. He’ll make use of the dorm features once more before their journey continues and switch out his roster so he won’t forget in the morning. Sleep comes easy again tonight...

Lucille shouts for Augur, who you can already see diving down towards the fight, trailing the needle-nosed avian. Lucille releases Gramps into the smokescreen.

Kasumi arcs a jet of water right into the bird's face, and it's plummet becomes erratic, made worse by Nimbus' attack coruscating over it's body, it tumbles, losing control and crashes into the ground, twitching in confusion, Gramps coughs out a circle of fire that lands around and clings to the stricken avian, who squeals and caws in pained panic.

The mountainside cracks and rumbles under the strain, Makoto is thrown from his feet and bounces into several upthrust rocks.

Lucille doesn't spare the pokemon more than a glance. "Sure, go for it, don't get too held up though." She says as she negotiates a particularly precarious patch of gravel.

Sunny follows your gaze to the bug and it's unconscious meal. She tilts her head to the side and seems willing to follow your direction. She follows you down slope to get in range of the bug, a points her stick at it, a coruscating orb of blue electricity spits and sparks from the end before being launched into the bug. Kasumi arcs a jet of water right into the bird's face, and it's plummet becomes erratic, made worse by Nimbus' attack coruscating over it's body, it tumbles, losing control and crashes into the ground, twitching in confusion, Gramps coughs out a circle of fire that lands around and clings to the stricken avian, who squeals and caws in pained panic.

"Looks like the table's turned on the bird faster than I anticipated! Not bad..." Tyson looses a sigh of relief as he searches the sky for any more potential predators. "I don't think it's got much fight left in it after that. If you're not gonna catch it I don't mind throwing a pokeball at it. Doubt it would last out here much longer in it's current condition." He offers.

"Kasumi, Nimbus, don't attack it unless I say so."

The Geodude is flung down the mountainside by Makoto's attack, it reels, floating shakily back into the air. it shakes itself, it's eyes narrowing as it's attention returns to the pugilist panda. it raises it's stony fingers into the air and then rams both palms into the earth... which starts to shake and rumble... The mountainside cracks and rumbles under the strain, Makoto is thrown from his feet and bounces into several upthrust rocks.

"The damn thing actually got up... It's tough for sure. Mako-" Tyson watches as the earth roils beneath Makoto's feet sending the panda flying into the surrounding debris.

"Nice shot, but if you want to win so badly you're gonna have to try a lot harder than that..." Tyson says to the Geodude as he smirks in unison with Makoto, who easily rises to his feet.

"Mako! Stand up and let's send that rock packing!" The panda quickly finds it's footing and brushes some dirt from it's fur before lunging at the Geodude in an attempt to bring it's paw down directly on it's opponent's head.

Lucille doesn't spare the pokemon more than a glance. "Sure, go for it, don't get too held up though." She says as she negotiates a particularly precarious patch of gravel.

"No problem, and you uh... watch your step okay?" He finishes with a playful smile.

Sunny follows your gaze to the bug and it's unconscious meal. She tilts her head to the side and seems willing to follow your direction. She follows you down slope to get in range of the bug, a points her stick at it, a coruscating orb of blue electricity spits and sparks from the end before being launched into the bug. Aegwynn yawns as she rises out of the chair she had been sitting in, having gotten up nice and early for...reasons. She switched the TV off before she hovered over to the box surrounding Lennox's bunk, and tapped on it a bit, "Morning...Lennox. Hope you slept well." She flashed a coy smirk before maneuvering her way back to her selected bunk and going through her things, getting ready to head into the showering area to get cleaned up before morning training. After a few moments, and the sound of running water, the blue translucent box faded from view, leaving Lennox's bunk open once again.

After getting dressed, she made the bed she had slept in and made her way over to the PC. She logged in using her Pokedex and began to the process of depositing and withdrawing pokemon, getting herself ready to pick up the two she had to leave overnight. She deposits her Gastly, her Magnemite, and her Wooper. She then withdraws the freshly caught Nincada she had snagged just yesterday afternoon.

After handling that, she made her way over to the nurse's station, meekly looking up at the nurse, "Excuse me, ma'am? I'm wondering how my Staryu and Joltik are doing? I left them here yesterday...they were pretty beat up."

After seeing to the two hospitalized pokemon she had to leave with the Nurse yesterday, she would meet up with Ken and Cassandra, "Hey...would either of you like to train together before we head out? That way we can leave as soon as we're all done!"

Regardless if they agreed or not, she would see to getting her party trained up. She released them all outside of the Pokemon Center, about in the same spot she has been doing it for the past couple of days. She let the usual crew get to know the new bug, all of them sniffing at one another curiously before she ran them through the usual speed and agility drilling. After they were through, she would allow everyone to go foraging for themselves, breakfast is important, after all! Svangur even goes off to do her usual thing...hopefully she won't bring back another half eaten berry bush...

Cassandra wakes up refreshed and ready to start her day. After she dresses in her street clothes and washes her face, she heads outside and sees Agwynn. "I would love to train with you," she says, releasing her team a respectful amount away from the other trainer. "The sooner we can leave her the better. I'm starting to get restless." She sends a sideways grin at the other girl

She trains her team up, working especially with her newest addition, the baby Pinsir.

After training, she watches as the white-haired girl talks to her pokemon and seems to... change them. It was subtle, but someone who was paying attention could see it. Cassandra will walk over to Agwynn once she's done. "How did you do that?" she asks. "It's really impressive."

Aegwynn returns the hungry little monster and the burrow bug before turning to Cassandra, "Oh! I have a way with Pokemon, you could say. I'm able to teach them moves and also help them out by perhaps giving them a better ability than the one they had, or even changing their viewpoint on the world and having them act just a little differently. I can't do it all that much a day though, probably have at least one more lesson in me...and thanks for reminding me! Watch this!"

She releases Ilmur again, smiling as she demonstrates her other talent to Cassandra. She opens her pokedex and pulls up information on Bayleef. She then reads through it and nods. She starts working with Ilmur, seeming to demonstrate a technique of some kind to him. The Bayleef watched intently before bleating slightly, whirling up its leaf and an ancient glow surrounds Ilmur. She nodded after she was sure she got the technique just right with him, before returning him to his Pokeball.

Aegwynn used Move Tutor on Ilmur! Ilmur spent 2 TP to learn Ancient Power!

"I can do that maybe once a day...but it's worth it. It helps me teach moves to a Pokemon that it might not have learned naturally by tutoring it to them. Then they can use it freely!" she told Cassandra

Aegwynn agrees. She would even let Cassandra work with her on this one, seeing as it's her pokemon. The way she spoke to the Pinsir was almost mystifying, talking it through different ways to not only approach battle, but approach other types of conflict in the world. Perhaps it shouldn't be so quick to make its decisions, and instead perhaps it should wait things out and see how everything will work out in the end.

Aegwynn works with Cassandra and her Pinsir! It will spend 1TP to shift from a Decisive Nature to a Patient Nature.

Ken rises early, noticing Aegwynn hovering and..... is she tapping the air? I must still be asleep.....He rises and gets ready to use the cleaning facilities one last time before heading back to the field and onto the next adventure. After getting changed into his street clothes, he made his way to the storage system, and exchanged Aibi for the Skiddo he caught the other day. "Aibi, you battled hard over the past couple days, take a good rest."

When he made his way outside and sees Aegwynn and Cassandra. "Good morning you two!" He waves at the pair. When asked about training together, Ken nods and places his vest on his bag. "Sounds like a plan to me! Ready for the next challenge ahead of us." He makes way to a reasonable distance allowing everyone to have their own space for training. He lets out his team and has them all meet the two new recruits. "Morning everyone! These are our new teammates, Hyo,"Ken pets the Purrloin's head. "And Yagi," He pats the Skiddo's head, "Alright let's get to training!

I'd read up on tutor's that could teach moves back home but never knew about the behaviors or abilities!" Ken watches as the pair works with the new bug Pokemon. "when you're able to next, would you mind working with Midoriya a little bit?" Ken recalls his team after they have eaten breakfast, with he exception of Zippo as always. He had considered letting Hyo out for a while but figured he might need some adjustment time to the group. "We all made some pretty nice captures over the past couple days. I'm eager to find more!" Ken will greet Lennox as well when he appears finally.

She looks to Ken as he asked about his own Pokemon, "I can see what I can do, but just so you know my team comes first. I only seem to be able to work with about three Pokemon a day." she told him, looking between Ken and Cassandra as she spoke, "I'm not sure if it's 'cause I get worn out doing it, or Pokemon just stop listening to me in that way 'cause I'm not making much sense...who knows." she said with a shrug.

With the party gathered up, she peers to Cassandra, then Ken, and finally Lennox, "Seems Cerulean is where we should head next. Town signage points to it being eastward. Shall we head out then?" If everyone agrees, she will go with them, walking with whatever pace the group seems to have set, occasionally floating over obstacles such as mailboxes and benches as they traversed the streets that they've already scoured for pokemon time and time again. So much so that she's not even looking. Aegwynn will actually start looking for Pokemon as soon as urban sprawl turns to rural wilderness, eyes darting around to see if she glimpses anything interesting.

Ken nods as Aegwynn sets her boundary on the lessons. "I understand that. Your own team should come first and foremost." He smiles. "I should have phrased that request better so that's on me. Sorry."

As they gathered together, Ken looked at each of his traveling companions. He nods in agreement. "Everyone and everything seems to point to Cerulean. I'm ready when you guys are." Zippo barks in agreement.

Ken doesn't even pay much attention to anything going on in the streets. He had found one of the Pokemon he was seeking yesterday evening and was content with it. When they broke out of the city and into the fields, he would start actively looking for Pokemon, looking for anything that captured his interest or that might be of interest to his companions.

Another few hours of sliding and tripping your way down the mountain, and you and Lucille eventually reach the rolling grass lands that surround the mountain. The sun is starting to dip in the sky, and you probably won't make it much further, even at the pace Lucille tends to set. She's climbed up on top of a rock and is looking over the sunset-stained countryside.

She glances at you and then looks back at the country below. "Told you we could do it in two days." She says, pride seeping into her voice. "Do you wanna press on to the outskirts, or all the way to town, or do you wanna call it quits?"

Aegwynn:
You are informed that your pokemon seem to be recovering well, and are scheduled to be released later today. (somewhere in the neighborhood of 2 PM, based on time of admittance)

Party:

You set off without incident or fanfare, just one more group of trainers tackling the circuit. As the hours crawl by, you leave the last vestiges of civilization behind you. The grass, where it had been trampled short near the city, where it wasn't actively groomed, now grows long and unkempt, with weeds sprouting up here and there along the packed dirt trail you're on.

You hear a roll of thunder, despite the clear skies, and then from over a hill come a mixed herd of long legged, two headed birds lead by a single three-headed one. Mixed in among the flightless flock are leaping and bounding Skiddo, Three of them are much larger specimens, standing almost as tall as Lennox at the shoulder, and sporting horns thicker than your arm.

A handful of Skiddo and 2 of the birds lag behind the group. You might be able to chase one down if you set your mind to it, and didn't mind pitting yourself against a herd of pokemon in an endurance race.

Aegwynn perks up upon seeing the herd of pokemon moving about, "Oh wow..." she said aloud. "I've seen Skiddo before, but I haven't seen those birds before. What are those bigger Skiddo, too!" she asked enthusiastically as she floated up above the heads of her fellow trainers, shielding her eyes with one of her hands to get a better view as she levitated along. She would love to catch one, but she was certain that she wouldn't be able to run one down if her life depended on it.

She thought a moment...maybe that could work? She plucked a pokeball off of her hip and released Ilmur in full view of everyone, still hovering over him, "Ok Ilmur, see if you can break one of those straddling skiddo away and get him in closer to us!"
