Re: [PTU] big teej presents: Kanto Plus: Aftermath - Thread II
Spoiler: Ooooooooh, we're halfway there!Aegwynn saw the dog clamp its jaw on Grimmur, the little monster wincing a little. She did catch a glimpse of shimmering around the wound though, seems that could've been a LOT worse. She shot a glance to Cassandra and smiled, seems that blessing really helped out. She turned to Ilmur, "Ok boy! Now it's time for us to shine! Get into position and do as Grimmur did!" she said, pointing to the Mightyena that released Grimmur from its jaws. Bayleef bounded into position and stamped on the ground just as Grimmur did, lobbing a glowing sedimentary rock out of the ground towards Grimmur's tormentor!
Spoiler: 13 - If Mightyena #8 is still up!Grimmur raised her claw and then swung it wide towards the wolf before her, aiming to catch it in the shoulder, and chip away what remaining vitality it had!
Spoiler: 13 - If Mighteyna #8 went down from IlmurGrimmur returned herself, to fight another day. Her replacement flew up and out from the barrier, hovering high above its trainer, spinning with a blipping core. Stjarna then lobs out a shower of brilliant stars towards Quakes location, each of them striking down at one of the pups that surrounded the large rock-mon.

Re: [PTU] big teej presents: Kanto Plus: Aftermath - Thread II
Spoiler: VictoryAegwynn watched the others begin to flee. It wouldn't be worth her trouble to go chasing after them, she surmises that the small walloping they gave to them would be enough to deter them from trying that again...at least for a while. Aegwynn turned to Stjarna, "That was great, you guys are all amazing. Stjarna...Rapid Spin!" she instructed. A sound like a propellor starting to spin rang through the air as the Staryu began to spin around, getting faster and faster until...nothing happened? "Huh...that should've worked..." Aegwynn stated.
Aegwynn chooses not to pursue the fleeing pack.

Spoiler: Not TysonCassandra smiles as she watches the remnants of the pack retreat. "Good job everybody," she says. She kneels down so that she's on her Pokemon's level. Ronin runs back over to her making a strange metallic noise that the trainer interprets as excitement and joy. He slides to a stop before the axe blade on his head can do any harm. Reks snorts and watches the Mightyena run. He turns and trots over to Cassandra after the last one disappears of the road. "Especially you guys. You two worked great as a team."

Growlithe was caught!
"Thanks for the back-up Nimbus, you were awesome! Now let's round up the others and go get some lunch." Tyson will recall Vile rather than wake him and call out to Roulette and instruct her to follow him from above. He lets Nimbus ride on his shoulder and removes the baby Zubat from his hood, opting to hold it in it's makeshift swaddle as he walks.
Tch! Out like a light...
When Tyson returns to where he left Lucille he will release his team and serve them lunch before he makes his way over to the "dozing" pokemon trainer.
"Hey, uh... you didn't happen to see any Mareep in the meadow while I was gone did ya?" He asks Lucille with a grin as he takes a seat beside her opposite to Augur. "Here." He hands Lucille his Pokedex. "Check out the two newest Pokemon entries." He waits for a few seconds. "So... What do ya think? Not half bad for half an hour and some bait right?" Tyson leans back against the tree and begins to enjoy his own lunch as the two trainers talk.
Back on Track!
After their conversation and the end of their rest Tyson will round up his pokemon with the exception of Vile and Roulette. Roulette will take back to the sky while Vile follows Tyson and Lucille on foot when the duo decides to resume their journey.Last edited by PK-Leon; 2017-11-15 at 12:59 PM.

Re: [PTU] big teej presents: Kanto Plus: Aftermath - Thread II
Spoiler: Not Tyson post ambush
Ken calls down Gin and Zippo as the mutts begin to run away. "Nice work everyone!" He first calls out to the group. "Specially you three. Now let's go get Midoriya and bandage him up properly." Ken calls back Gin after running his hand a good length down the snake from his head, a satisfied hiss being made.
As the two make their way over to Midoriya, Ken drops down and grabs some bandages from his pack. He starts to apply them to the unconscious kung fu cat. "You did great Midoriya, I'm just sorry you had to handle them that long." After the bandages are applied, Ken recalls Midoriya and makes his way back over to the group. Satisfied barks coming from Zippo.

Re: [PTU] big teej presents: Kanto Plus: Aftermath - Thread II
Spoiler: After Lunch, let's keep going...to Mt. Moon!Aegwynn will finally return both Stjarna and Ilmur to their pokeballs once the barrier dissipated. She took the time to get with everyone and make sure they're all right before she broke for lunch with the rest of them. After stuffing her face with some travel rations she had she released both Elding and Skuggi into the grass between her and her fellow travel companions. She rifled through her bag before getting out two bandages. She picked up Skuggi, who was a little more worse off than Elding was, and gently wrapped him up in bandages. After his dressings were secure, she did the same for Elding, who was a lot easier to pick up and encase in a shell of bandages, making sure to make four little holes for his legs. The medicated wrappings would take some time to make them feel better. She gave them each an Oran berry before returning them to their pokeballs. She brought out Grimmur and patted her on the head as she took out a potion and gently sprayed the aerosol medication onto the little Larvitar, "There we go. All better." she said before patting her once more, feeding her an Oran berry, and returning her. She turned to her companions after everyone was done eating, "Shall we continue?"

Re: [PTU] big teej presents: Kanto Plus: Aftermath - Thread II
Spoiler: Not TysonAs her stomach growls, Cassandra laughs a little. "Let's find a place for lunch everybody."
Once suitable place is located, Cassandra will release her team and distribute their food, making sure Reks is a little separated from her newest addition, the baby Pinsir, before eating some trail rations herself.
After he's finished his food, Raum barks and trots over to the Turtwig, who tilts his head as the devil-dog bows in front of him. The Houndour wags his tail and let's out a soft whine. Tokka seems to sigh and then tosses a small leaf from his head past Raum. The devil-dog turns and bolts after the leaf, jumping to catch it in mid air, then brings it back to Tokka, dropping the saliva covers piece of foliage in front of him. Tokka tosses another leaf, farther this time, and Raum once again brings it back. They keep up this game until it's time to leave again.
The whole scene makes Cassandra smile. It was good to see that the Turtwig was more at ease with her team, especially Raum.
After packing up, Cassandra will keep her eye out for more Pokemon on the way to Mt. Moon.

"Waste not, want not." After securing his pack, and calling back his team save for Zippo, he was ready to go. "Onward to Mt. Moon like you said Aegwynn. They must not have a version of that nursery rhyme here in Kanto? Tyson thinks to himself.
"What? The Growlithe? No way! She's not going anywhere. My mother has an Arcanine she uses to patrol the grounds of the Safari Zone so I thought it would be a strong pokemon to raise for my own team. If he wants one I won't hesitate to help him find it but it's ultimately up to Ken to catch and train his own pokemon. Speaking of which, did you still plan on having your showdown in Cerulean?"
As Lucille tells him the time, Tyson looks at the clock on his pokedex to double check. "Well, you know what they say, 'Time flies when you're on fire!". He says as he inspects the singed spots on his person.
"Call me if something comes up I guess?"
Lunch passes quietly without Lucille pacing around with the jitters, ready to get moving.
Eventually Lucille saunters back into the shade of the tree you've taken lunch under, a somewhat more smug than usual expression on her face. "Ready to head out?"
After their exchange Tyson sets off with Lucille toward Cerulean.

Re: [PTU] big teej presents: Kanto Plus: Aftermath - Thread II
Spoiler: Tyson:
Lucille is visibly relieved when you insist the growlithe is for your use only. She shrugs at your question. "I dunno, I think somebody needs to let the air out of his tires before he gets his pokemon hurt, you know? Dedication and proficiency to a type is all fine and whatever, if a bit naive." She shakes her head. "But I dunno if even that would get through to him. Besides." She looks at you, her concern replaced by a smug smirk. "I'm not going to slow myself down to his pace again, just so I can stroke my ego by bruising his. If he can show up within a day or two, maybe three, of us, sure, I'll battle him if he wants, otherwise we'll just have to settle up later."
After Lunch
Lucille returns with a rip in her jeans and a sour expression. "Before you ask, I'm fine." She says. "Stupid hounds. whatever, I needed to go shopping in Cerulean anyway."
Lucille looks you over, and decides you look ready to move out. "I caught a Sandslash and a Mightyena, are you familiar with the breeds?" She says as she sets off towards Cerulean.
Poke Spotting
As you walk towards Cerulean, you don't see many pokemon, or at least nothing more than typical field specimens. The only thing that catches your eye is a ... is that patch of grass... moving?
sure enough, a five foot section of the grass seems to be moving on it's own, it doesn't seem to be pacing you, as it ambles without direction.
Later...
It's around sunset when you reach the outskirts of Cerulean City
Unlike Pallet, with it's rustic fields, Viridian, seeming to lack character entirely, or the endless stone of Pewter, Cerulean has a varied housing and building structure. shades of blue with red roofs are more common, but you see everything from squat, ugly, pragmatic office buildings, to outlandishly colored and designed homes and art studios.
Lucille stops at the outskirts and stretches her arms over her head. "I'm tempted to hit the gym right now. But somehow, I don't think they'd be open to a challenge."
Spoiler: Not Tyson
Party:
ooc: in the interest of this post not taking til the middle of nextweek, I have simply provided descriptions for what you guys see over the course of the 2nd half of the day.
Spoiler: Poke Spotting
Spoiler: Specimen the First

A round pink humanoid with undersized wings on it's back, it prances and capers back and forth, one arm held up with one finger pointing at the sky.
Spoiler: Specimen the Sixth
A red insectoid creature with black spots on it's body and long bladed arms that trills frequently.
Spoiler: Specimen the Seventh
A yellow-cream colored pokemon who's legs flare outward almost like a shrine maiden's dress. A huge mass of grey hair that rests in a natural ponytail adorned with stones doesn't quite drag along behind it on the ground.
Spoiler: Specimen the Eighth
A grey humanoid with three fins running along the top of it's skull.
Spoiler: Specimen the Ninth
A pale green, stocky quadruped with a massive leaf growing out of it's head.
Spoiler: Specimen the Tenth
A Dark blue faceted stone with two brown feet, another brown apendage along it's dorsal surface, and a massive cavity in it's body on one side.

Spoiler: Specimen the twelfth
A long bodied, white furred pokemon with three brown stripes running down most of it's body.
Sometime Around 4PM
You are following the gently meandering trail, There is a stand of woods a few score yards off the road, Cassandra and Aegwynn spy movement. It would seem a lot of mankey live in that stand of trees... further examination of the area has them notice how... trampled a section of grass between the stand of trees and the road is. The closer the party gets to the trampled area, the more the Mankey seem to be gathering at the edge of the woods and watching the group.
After a Long Day's Descriptions...
As the miles pass by underfoot, and the sun passes overhead, The terrain gradually shifts from rolling grassland to steadily uphill, and grows increasingly rocky. The Sky begins to darken and, at last, you see the lights of the Mt. Moon Pokemon Center in the distance, another hour's walk and you arrive. This Pokemon Center is the smallest you've seen so far, it has a blocky stone foundation, but is otherwise constructed of cut logs. there are several picnic tables and a large camping area outside, populated by a variety of Hikers, Mountain Men, and other trainers.

Tyson sent me a message about Mankey stealing some stuff from him on his way to Cerulean. I'm assuming this is the same group."Last edited by InTheMachine; 2017-11-17 at 02:50 PM.

Re: [PTU] big teej presents: Kanto Plus: Aftermath - Thread II
Spoiler: So many Pokemon!Aegwynn travels with the rest of the group that had left Pewter much later than some others. She took the time to make small talk with a couple of them, and even pointing out Pokemon that weren't already spotted by the very observant Cassandra to those who may not be paying as much attention. She took this time to pursue a few of them herself, often telling her companions to either wait up, or she'll catch up to them after handling an opportunity to expand her team!
Counting Sheep? It's not bedtime yet!
Spoiler: What a fine specimen!Aegwynn had the fluffy pokemon pointed out to her by Cassandra, and couldn't help but gleefully sprint off towards it. It was so fluffy and adorable, she couldn't resist the chance to add it to her family of pokemon! She made sure to slow down before getting too close though, not wanting to put on a threatening display if the Pokemon took notice to her. She did release Grimmur beside her, "Ok girl, you'll be up just in case our normal strategy doesn't work!" she said before pulling out a fresh pokeball and chucking it at the sheep!
11 - [Shift] Aegwynn releases Grimmur! She is initiative 11!
11 - [Standard] Aegwynn (Trainer level 7) throws a Basic Ball!
The Smallest Shrine Maiden!
Spoiler: It's so cute!Aegwynn was cautious when she decided to approach the pokemon that had the large gray 'ponytail' that hovered just above the ground as it marched around in the wilds. She thoughtfully selected its potential opponent, choosing to go with Munchlax by her side for this one. She readied a pokeball and let it fly, while the Munchlax began to space out, drool oozing from the corner of her mouth as she stood there gazing at the clouds above.
11 - [Shift] Aegwynn releases Svangur! She is initiative 6!
11 - [Standard] Aegwynn (Trainer Level 7) throws a Basic Ball!
06 - [Standard] Svangur uses Amnesia! Her Special Defense goes up +2 CS!
Who's Linoone is it Anyway?!
Spoiler: Ken's Raccoon Nightmare Flashback!Huh...that thing looks familiar! Like a bigger version of that one that attacked Ken on the way down the mountain! So it must be its evolution, perhaps! Yeah, that seems like a plausible theory, at least to Aegwynn. After having been pointed to it by Cassandra, she gleefully grinned as she set out to add another to her roster. She released Ilmur, the plantasaurus nuzzling at his trainer before turning to eye the elongated raccoon.
11 - [Shift] Aegwynn releases Ilmur! He is initiative 16! He passes his actions.
11 - [Standard] Aegwynn (Trainer Level 7) throws a Basic Ball!
The Happy Chestnut!
Spoiler: Can Aegwynn actually charm anything?Aegwynn slowly decided to approach this one, a berry in one hand, a smile upon her face. If allowed to get in closer to this seemingly gentle pokemon, she will kindly offer the Oran berry to it, another hand displayed in an attempt to show that she was friendly. She would attempt to befriend this pokemon, deviating from her normal strategy of beaning things with a pokeball this time. After all, it seemed to work well enough for Cassandra that one time. "Hey buddy...you look hungry! Think you wanna come with me and see the rest of this world together?" she spoke softly to it.
Aegwynn attempts to Charm this Pokemon with treats!
If the Pokemon is willing, Aegwynn will present a Pokeball to it, asking if it would once again like to come with her.
The way the Mankey were grouping and gathering around the trampled foliage as they grew nearer to it. She would slow her pace and turn to look at Cassandra, Lennox, and Ken. She then focused back to Cassandra as she spoke, warning them of the trampled grass and the Mankey she had already spied upon. Aegwynn began to delve into the catalog of her mind, seeing if she could upwell any knowledge about the best way to, perhaps, avoid tangling with these simians!
Aegwynn attempts to recall Pokemon Knowledge!

Spoiler: Pokemon Woods! Not Tyson
As they travelled, Ken eyed the Pokemon he saw and listened as Cassandra and Aegwynn pointed out the ones he didn't spot at a first glance. A good few of them really caught his attention, but he couldn't;t see himself using them so he stayed out of everyone else's way. Then he started to see what all he was looking for.
Sleeping lions? Shoot for the stars!
Spoiler: So cool, I gotta have it!As he has the black and blue quadruped pointed out to him, or once he sees it, Ken lights up. "Zippo let's go after that Shinx. Quick Attack it!" Spoiler: If it works for Aegwynn, then it might for me too!As the group passes by the Pokemon resembling Illmur, Ken considers how powerful Aegwynn's Chikorita, well Bayleef now, has become. May as well add one to his roster, it only makes sense to Ken for another great addition against water. "Zippo wait for me to try and talk this one out." Ken approaches the Chikorita. "Hey there little guy, you hungry? Want to come with us?" Ken will hold out some of his trail rations to the Pokemon, and present a Pokeball should it seem willing.
PokePsychology: for Charm: 17
The chirping of the Kricketot..... Or maybe the bigger one.
Spoiler: Deja Vu! Calming moment back on the return trip
As they pass by the bug Pokemon, Ken remembers the scene in the forest on their way back. Just before he caught Yagi. "Ya know, I didn't think I wanted one back then but, now I kinda do." Ken takes out Gin's Pokeball and calls out the snake. "Ok Zippo stay back, Gin you're up. Try to keep it where it is." Zippo sits back while Gin hisses and slithers over to the bug, glaring at it as he makes his approach. Ken takes out another pokeball and throws it at the bug.
Gin uses Glare!

Re: [PTU] big teej presents: Kanto Plus: Aftermath - Thread II
Spoiler: No rest for the weary! - GM OnlyLucille is visibly relieved when you insist the growlithe is for your use only.
Tyson takes a moment to look up at the sky.
"Now that I think about it, I never got to see how Ken and Cassie's gym battles went..."
He uses both sets of his index fingers and thumbs to frame Lucille, imitating a photographer.
"Anything in particular you're looking for in Cerulean?"
When asked about pokemon Tyson thinks for a moment. "Mightyena sounds familiar to me but I'm drawing blanks. Now I've definitely seen Sandslash both train and battle firsthand. The one we fought together was about average in strength from what I gathered. What did you wanna know?"
He pulls out his pokedex in an attempt to register it if it turns out to be some sort of pokemon.
"Yeah, I know exactly how you feel right now. How about this: We find this town's Center and turn in for the night. Tomorrow we wake up early, train, eat, then take on the gym. After that we can use the rest of the day to see what Cerulean has to offer. You did say that you were in the market for another water type right? We could head to the beach or try see if they have a trading post like the one back in Pewter?"Last edited by PK-Leon; 2017-11-19 at 10:50 PM.

"Suuuuuure you wern't" Lucille tosses at you instead of modeling for the 'camera'.
Lucille scratches at her forehead with one finger "I forgot about that. Mightyena are hounds, work in packs, Dark types, a recommended introduction to more brutal species for trainers." Lucille shrugs.
I think I could do with a few new water types while we're there, but I don't have my heart set on anything in particular, just to see if anything fits my roster better than that palpitoad."

So... I couldn't figure out how to convey this information in a manner that felt fair, without being an explicit explanation, so I broke it up into the previous check and this.
Basically, this thing's starting loyalty is under your control.
If you fight it with a type advantage, it'll be Loyalty 1
if you fight it with a neutral match-up, it'll be Loyalty 2 or 3, depending on how the fight goes
if you fight it with a type disadvantage, it'll be Loyalty 4
operative word being 'fight' so if you bean it at the top of round 2 all this is ignored.

Aegwynn in a panic started to think about how to help her pokemon, "Oh Gosh...hold on Svangur. A ball of energy and Ilmur took the field, bellowing out loudly as he swung his head-leaf around, "Grass Contest! Ilmur...Ancient Power! I believe in you!" she commanded as it would hurl an energized rock at the fellow grass type pokemon, Aegwynn fishing a pokeball out of her bag and chucking it towards the target, though she woefully misses, "Seems this contest will go on longer than I anticipated." Aegwynn mused in light of her failure to actually throw a pokeball AT a pokemon.

Having avoided the Mankey and their thieving ways, she would make it to the Pokemon Center at the base of the mountain with the rest of her traveling companions. Upon arrival she would quickly bound over to the front desk. Even if she had to wait in line, she would patiently wait her turn to talk to the nurse, a smile upon her face as the snow-haired telekinetic greeted the nurse, "Good evening, ma'am. I'd like to check my pokemon in for care." she said as she began to place pokeballs on the counter, unclipping them from her belt, "They've had quite the day!"Last edited by MashPotatoJones; 2017-11-20 at 10:59 PM.

Spoiler: Not TysonAs they arrive at the Pokemon Center, Cassandra eagerly waits in line for her turn at the PC. She trades in the Pirsir and Turtwig and takes out her newest additions, Eevee and Rufflet.
After that she goes up to the Nurse's counter and carefully places the egg she got from Ken on top on it. "Excuse me, could you tell me what kind of egg this is? A friend of mine found it in the mountains close to Pewter."
After the Nurse answers her question, Cassandra will seek out Aegwynn. She will pull her off of the side (inside if there's room, outside if there's not).
Spoiler: Aegwynn Only"Could I ask you to help me with your Mentor skills for a trade? I need a few things done to my team, and I feel bad just asking you to do them without something in return. I've noticed that you seem to be collecting bug types. Could I offer you a Pinsir in exchange?"
OOC: So basically, what I'm asking for is a 1 step Nature change for my Rufflet and an ability change once it reaches level 5 and then two tutored moves, one for Raum, one for Reks.)
After her talk with Aegwynn, Cassandra will find a spot at the camp that has enough space for her to loose her entire team so that she can meet her newest Pokemon, Luna (Eevee) and Vectis (Rufflet).

When or if she even follows his eyes downward Tyson will "fall" sideways, catching himself by throwing his arm around Lucille's shoulders.
"Guess my legs finally gave out... It was only a matter of time. You'll carry me won't you?" Tyson attempts to muster up the most pathetic smile he can without bursting into laughter, even adding a cough for dramatic effect.
"Now let's go find the Center so we can get finally get some rest in real beds!" The ninja boy returns to his feet and recalls his two pokemon before looking for the Cerulean City Pokemon Center with Lucille.Last edited by PK-Leon; 2017-11-21 at 03:45 AM.

Spoiler: Cassandra and GM OnlyAegwynn blinked as Cassandra approached her, "Oh my...that would be wonderful. It's the baby I already worked with, no?" she asked inquisitively. She agreed that would be a fair exchange for services rendered, and would look forward to having a chance to work with a Pokemon at such a young stage of development, "Bugs are neat, I just seem to have a large...number of them. Not just collecting them, just there are some I think have the potential to be great!" she said rather enthusiastically to her traveling companion, "Just let me know who I need to work with and we can train tomorrow morning and get things squared away."

Big City Sillies
Lucille stumbles under you, a surprised "ack!" nearly heralding the two of you tumbling into the ground in a fit of laughter. "Come on, let's go." Lucille agrees as you head to the pokemon center.
The Cerulean City Pokemon Center is a a concrete edifice with a massive blocky section of windows rising up almost like a steeple. Consequently, the main lobby of the center is brightly lit. The lobby feels very scrubbed clean with a strong anti-septic smell with a faint undertone of brine. The furnishings are clinical, with hard plastic chairs without padding dominating the left front side of the room. a triple bank of vid-phone kiosks rests behind a glass partition in the back left. there are some sliding glass doors to the right that leads to a hostel. the entire place is done up in alternating cream and shades of blue. The layout feels reminiscent of the Viridian City center.
The Hostel is better done, with heavy blankets provided at each of the bunks, a flat-screen bolted into the wall in one corner with some beanbag chairs and recliners, and a small kitchenette on the opposite side. The coed shower block opens up into a small pool and Jacuzzi in the back.
