The Escavalier looks completely unfazed and unimpressed by Quakes groundwork. The Excadrill is thrown to the ground, but it quickly springs back to it's feet. At a shouted order, it leaps, spinning, into the air and lands head and claws first on the ground. In a torrent of flung earth and gravel it disappears into the earth. The Escavalier rushes at Quake again, but this time the Rhino is able to juke enough out of the way to take the hit on the thickest part of it's armored hide and seems none the worse for wear.

After getting their challenge scheduled, Aegwynn would hold onto the strap of her bag as she turned to Cassandra, "I'm starting to get a little hungry. I think I might go look for a small bistro or cafe, and after that some shopping. You're more than welcome to come along with me if you'd like! You've been an awesome person to travel with." she enthused as she bounced up and down on her feet a bit, "If you'd rather wander off on your own for now, I'd understand."

She would waved to Cassandra, "Ok, then. See you at the Pokemon Center Hostel later tonight?" she asked before bounding off on her own and proceeding to walk away from the Gym in search of something tasty to eat!

Aegwynn is keeping an eye out for Pokemon that are out of the ordinary from the ones she knows to dwell! This perception check is for her Afternoon Wanderings. More will be made if needed by GM request.

With a grumbly tummy, Aegwynn would meander through the streets of Cerulean, seeing if her eyes and nose would lead her to something that would hit the spot. She was in the mood for something warm, rather than cold such as sandwiches. She'd hopefully find something with Pasta, that's always awesome to have when your stomach is griping at you for not filling it when it wants to be filled. Once she found a suitable spot, she'd order something modest off of the menu. No need to go spending all that Santa Bird money, after all. Especially when you need to resupply pokeballs and medicinal aids! Aegwynn would spend the next hour resting and having lunch!

After finishing up lunch and paying her bill, Aegwynn would ask for directions to the closest PokeMart. She would also inquire about any specialty shops as well, specifying that she's looking for a Water Stone, and would hope that the waiter and/or owner of the restaurant would be able to point her in the right direction. She gets her bag and decides to head off in that direction. If she had a choice, and her companion was willing to continue going with her if she still had one, she will head to the PokeMart!

As you meander around town, you pass by dozens of shops catering towards the shifting tourist population. You eventually come upon a seaside shack looking place - aged and weathered wood and built up on stilts, even though you're several miles from the beaches and above the floodplain. Their special for the day is a heavy noodle dish with Shellder sauce.

Afterwards, you eventually find the local Official Pokemon League Cerulean City Pokemon Mart.... it's as much a victim of the tourist trap feeling as anything else. The building is shaped like a giant open shellder, inside, you have to hunt for actual trainer related products, as most things are Cerulean novelty items, swimwear, knickknacks and apparel.

The Bug Knight seems completely unfazed by Boomer and Quake's combined assault, sporting not even a scratch on it's carapace. The ground rumbles and shakes, and a whirring drill bursts from the ground, throwing Quake and Boomer away from the stony shrapnel of the Excadrill's Re-emergence. The Knight takes advantage of the confusion to ram it's spikes into Quake again.

The Wooper turns to look at you with it's black eyes, it's expression doesn't change. It watches you. unblinking. staring into your soul, unraveling the mystery of your existence.

It stares at you...

"Hey now, if you wanna take a closer look it's gonna cost ya pal." He says as he looks back at the Wooper, slightly disturbed.

The reptile almost immediately snaps at the hunk of meat, and follows it eagerly, water cascading off it's scaly body and slavering. It ignores you completely as it chomps down on the meat. It seems perfectly content with the world, but perks up again when you claim to have more food.

The snap of the reptiles jaws pulls the shinobi's attention back to the water's surface. He watches closely as the tiny crocodile closes the distance between it and lunch, then scarfs down the meat that it was offered.

"Oh so you want more now? Beggars can't be choosers I guess..." Tyson sighs a bit before reaching into his bag and pulling out another piece of meat. "Alright, I'll give you another piece now as long as you work for your food later okay?" Tyson tosses the crocodile a second piece of meat before removing the lure ball from his pocket and attempting to tap the reptile while it eats.

There were a lot of pokemon that seemed to call Cerulean their home, but with a sharp eye Aegwynn was able to find those that didn't seem to populate every alleyway and natural area in the city. Aegwynn was even able to point out something that Cassandra might be interested in, pointing over to a bipedal otter that seemed to carry two shells and use them like daggers or swords. While Aegwynn would have gone after it, she knew that Staryu was a very capable water type pokemon, and she hasn't seen Cassandra with her own aquatic companion on her team.

Hugs and Kisses

It was further along their wanderings that Aegwynn took the opportunity to go after a few pokemon herself. Wandering through the streets near the entrance of an alley was a small pink pokemon with big lips. It seemed to remind her of when she found Svangur. She threw out Staryu as her pokemon of choice while she readied a basic ball. Staryu yielded to its trainer while she tried her old methodology...throw and see! She managed to energize it, but the ball burst open practically immediately, "That always happens!" she pouted before looking up to Stjarna, "Go Stjarna, show it a Rapid Spin!"

In a while, Sandile!

One restaurant after another didn't seem to appeal to her. This place was really a tourist trap it felt, and most of the eateries they were passing seemed to be largely commercialized in appearance, or were just a straight up chain restaurant. Olivine Garden? No thank you...but something in the alley behind the mediocre pasta factory caught her eye, a small little reptile that was rummaging through the trash, a couple of trubbish scattering away from it and heading deeper into the alley. She felt like she could possibly provide for it better than the scraps from a chain restaurant, and decided to try and add it to her team. She sends out Skuggi to aid her in this endeavor, and despite it failing against the small 'kissy' pokemon, she tried her throw and see method again. Skuggi chitters as he thinks he hears the ball click shut.

You know what really grinds my gears?

A smell has caught her attention, and it smells really good. They must be close to a small out of the way cafe or something. Aegwynn turns to Cassandra, "My father has always said that some of the best places are always small, hole in the wall bistros. They focus on their craft rather than their appearance, and it shows in the food they serve." she said. She began to follow her nose like Sam the Toucannon, that popular cereal mascot, and just before they find out where that smell is coming from, the sound of gears clattering caught her attention. The area beside a local machinist shop, at least she thought that's what it was, caused her head to turn around and catch glimpse of a tiny pokemon comprised of a couple of gears. She nodded a bit, "That's different!" she exclaimed as she released Drekar, her Deino, "Ok boy, lets see if we can capture this one and make a new friend!" she said as she threw another pokeball, hoping to not have another Smoochum incident!

Lunch was pretty quaint, and the pasta was amazing. The shellder they saw in the city, she wondered if they were the ones they used in the dish here, or if it was just an ornamental name to the dish. She didn't dwell on that too much. She paid her tab and waited for Cassandra to finish as well before the two of them headed to the PokeMart!

As Aegwynn and her companion enter the PokeMart, the commercialism that they encountered at the Gym only seemed magnified here. It weighed heavily on her as she canted her head towards Cassandra, looking at her, "The Nurse was right...Tourism. There's lots of stuff here...but...where are the trainer items?" she said inquisitively. It took some digging, but she managed to grab some things she needed. A few pokeballs and some bait, as well as a restock on her medicinals.

We've got some time before our challenge, so it'll be fun to see what kind of Pokemon we see there!" she said excitedly as she finished up her transaction with the PokeMart attendant, paying the $8,200 that was due before asking him/her, "There's a beach here, yeah? Which way to get to it?!" she asked rather excitedly.

"Wow," Cassandra says after Aegwynn points out the otter-like Pokemon. "That thing looks awesome! Thanks for showing it to me. I'll be back soon." The Sage trots off in the direction of the Pokemon, Pokedex out and ready to scan it.

The otter's back is to her as she approaches. It has it's two shells out in its paws and sees to be almost dancing with them, though Cassandra knew from watching Yojimbo and Ronin that it was really going through the various forms that it would use in battle. She watches the otter a bit more as she reads its Pokedex entry.

Dewott, the Discipline Pokemon. Through rigid training, Dewott uses the double-scalchop technique to accomplish its fluid swordsmanship.

It definitely reminded her of a couple of her other Pokemon. She waits until it seems like it finished with its current set of scalchop forms before calling out to it, though not too loud, as she didn't want to scare it. "Hey, Dewott. I want to challenge you to a battle." She releases Yojimbo next her after turns to face the trainer and a supernatural wind blows, causing the ghostly sword's hat to fly up and land in Cassandra's hands. "Samurai versus samurai. If we win, you come with us and I'll have my Honedge help you master the way of the sword. What do you say?"

If the Dewott seems agreeable, Cassandra steps back from the field and begins to give orders to Yojimbo. The sword's single eye narrows and it unsheathes its blade. It flies at the Dewott, shredding through the air. The otter raises a scalchop to block the attack, but Yojimbo fades into shadow before it hits, then reappears behind the Water-type, slicing through its shoulder.

"Tourist stuff is weird," she says before replacing the towel on the rack. She follows the telekinetic to the back of the shop where she seems to have found trainer items.

Stjarna began to spin at a tilted angle, the revolutions erratic and inconsistent. Stjarna suddenly spun up at a pretty fast pace before it struck the ground beneath it in a state of total confusion! Its blinked and flashed as it tried to make out just what happened, but the whole world was simply spinning around it! Aegwynn scratched her head, seems Stjarna is in a bit of a pickle. She needs to make this next toss count! She pulls another Basic Pokeball out of her bag and hurls it towards the thing that seems to have caused this altered state of mind in her starfish. The ball energizes almost immediately upon making contact and drops to the ground. She waits for the click before joining up with Cassandra again.

This guy was really relaxed, and he had a mannerism about him. He felt like the 'stereotypical Alolan' you always see portrayed in sitcoms and other television tropes. Surfer, beach bum-esque wardrobe, and a carefree approach to just about everything that one would do. She thanked him for the directions before hopping over to Cassandra, "Want to head to the beach? I bet there's a lot of cool Pokemon we can find there, and maybe even some battling, too!" Aegwynn will hopefully get to travel with Cassandra a bit longer as she bounds out of the Pokemart and makes her way to the beach!

Once at the beach, Aegwynn will take a look around. She's mostly looking for Pokemon, but anything is bound to catch her eye as this beach is certain to be different to the rocky coastline she's visited while traveling back home during certain Fjordin festivals and holidays. Her family made an effort to enrich her in the culture of her homeland despite now having residence in Kanto, and did so by taking at least a yearly trip back to the town where she was born.

Tyson watches the Lure ball violently rock back and forth before it stops with a click, then teleports away shortly after. He stands up at the edge of the pool and collapses his fishing rod before returning it to his bag.

"That was easier than I thought it would be. Thanks for the class back on the mountain 'teach'." Tyson says smile as he returns to Lucille and his pair of pokemon. "Let's hit the road, the water's waitin' for us!"

Lucille congratulates you on your catch, and opts to press on to the maniac's house instead of hunting for more pokemon, and nothing else grabs your eye either.

After about a three hour hike, you clear the scattered trees and inlets into a rolling grassy field with a large barn looking building with a small annex and an old abandoned looking lighthouse in the distance.

the Peninsula you're on has narrowed considerably, you can water on either side of you several hundred yards away. there's not really anywhere to go except back the way you came and forward to the barn. As you approach, you feel that while it might be the right size, the place doesn't really look like a typical barn or storage shed. Instead of a giant set of double doors, there's a metallic corrugated shutter and a smaller, normal door off to the side of it. There are no windows at ground level, and a portion of the roof is sectioned in a manner that looks like it could fold open. There are several antennae and satellite dishes clustered around one corner of the roof as well.

The smaller annex looks more like a house. You seen a large man in a green tank top and black shorts hanging out on the shaded porch of the house. Thanks to your Shinobi Training and intense powers of observation, you can feel the glare of the man from a hundred yards away. He looses 2 pokemon and advances toward you. His hands are empty, but balled up into fists. To his left is a larger, sharper version of Cassandra's baby Pawniard, to his right is a massive gold and black bodied pokemon with large, impressively sharp looking protrusions on it's head.


Later
After spending some time at the Maniac's place, Lucille starts to get antsy again and insists on heading to the waterfall. It's starting to get late in the day anyway, and if you want to make it back to Cerulean before dark you'd probably need to go with her.

The hike back through the wooded inlets is uneventful, and another half hour's walk (at Lucille's Pace) brings you to a roaring waterfall. there's a stone placard that details a local legend about a massive pokemon crawling out of the ocean and creating this waterfall, and explaining that there is a second, more remote, and much much larger waterfall further upriver. There is a a bald figure stripped down to what looks like just a towel perched underneath the waterfall. Several fighting type pokemon are standing or sitting beneath the torrent of water as well.

Lucille looses several of her pokemon and wades out toward the guy to ask if he minds if they join him briefly.

And After That...
After spending some time discussing the merits of training in lagoons and meditating under waterfalls, you and Lucille return to Cerulean without incident. The sun has set, and your treated to a more up close view of the dazzling reflection off the water, turning most of Cerulean into a vibrant orange for several moments before fading back into true dusk.

"I think I'm going to call it quits for the night, I figure we can get up early, and meet at the beach. I still have to go get a swimsuit." She says with a wink.

It would appear, that the beach is kinda popular.

The place is packed, absolutely swarming with Beachgoers, their pokemon, and hundreds of the more harmless and acclimated to human contact local pokemon, mostly Krabby, Wingull, and the like. Beach Bouncer

After about a three hour hike, you clear the scattered trees and inlets into a rolling grassy field with a large barn looking building with a small annex and an old abandoned looking lighthouse in the distance.

The Peninsula you're on has narrowed considerably, you can see water on either side of you several hundred yards away. There's not really anywhere to go except back the way you came and forward to the barn. As you approach, you feel that while it might be the right size, the place doesn't really look like a typical barn or storage shed. Instead of a giant set of double doors, there's a metallic corrugated shutter and a smaller, normal door off to the side of it. There are no windows at ground level, and a portion of the roof is sectioned in a manner that looks like it could fold open. There are several antennae and satellite dishes clustered around one corner of the roof as well.

The smaller annex looks more like a house. You seen a large man in a green tank top and black shorts hanging out on the shaded porch of the house. Thanks to your Shinobi Training and intense powers of observation, you can feel the glare of the man from a hundred yards away. He looses 2 pokemon and advances toward you. His hands are empty, but balled up into fists. To his left is a larger, sharper version of Cassandra's baby Pawniard, to his right is a massive gold and black bodied pokemon with large, impressively sharp looking protrusions on it's head.

As the two trainers approach the building Tyson can't help but let his mind wander. "Hey Lucille, don't you think that this place kinda looks like that old horror movie where the mad scientist creates an artificial Electabuzz?"

His follow up to her answer is cut short by the approach of the pair of pokemon and the large man who is presumably their trainer.

Shinobi senses tingling. "So much for a warm welcome... Doubt any of these guys are here for hugs either. But I've already got an idea to get by this bouncer if we have to." Tyson whispers to Lucille as he comes to a stop. "If he's the bouncer that is. Try not to make any sudden moves okay Nimbus?" He cautions the electric mouse.

The ninja boy slowly removes his pokedex from his pocket as man continues to approach and attempts to scan the two pokemon by his side.

"Yo! You gotta be the guy we're lookin' for right? If you've got the time do you think you could take a look at my pokedex? Seems to be workin' fine right now but there must've been some sorta malfunction before. It wouldn't register the Zubat I hatched from an egg."

Like Magikarp to Water

After spending some time at the Maniac's place, Lucille starts to get antsy again and insists on heading to the waterfall. It's starting to get late in the day anyway, and if you want to make it back to Cerulean before dark you'd probably need to go with her.

The hike back through the wooded inlets is uneventful, and another half hour's walk (at Lucille's Pace) brings you to a roaring waterfall. there's a stone placard that details a local legend about a massive pokemon crawling out of the ocean and creating this waterfall, and explaining that there is a second, more remote, and much much larger waterfall further upriver. There is a a bald figure stripped down to what looks like just a towel perched underneath the waterfall. Several fighting type pokemon are standing or sitting beneath the torrent of water as well.

Lucille looses several of her pokemon and wades out toward the guy to ask if he minds if they join him briefly.

This place is so serene. I wouldn't mind training out here if I had the chance to. I wonder if Master ever visited this place during his training? Tyson places his bag and other belongings on the ground and releases his entire roster. "None of you have to get into the water if you don't want to. But if you wanna stay here just be sure to watch my bag and stick together okay? Kasumi, you comin'?" He looks to the amphibian kunoichi and then to rest of his team waiting for their silent answers.

Tyson wades into the water in Lucille's wake and waits for the man to answer before he makes any more movement.

Sunset

After spending some time discussing the merits of training in lagoons and meditating under waterfalls, you and Lucille return to Cerulean without incident. The sun has set, and your treated to a more up close view of the dazzling reflection off the water, turning most of Cerulean into a vibrant orange for several moments before fading back into true dusk.

"I think I'm going to call it quits for the night, I figure we can get up early, and meet at the beach. I still have to go get a swimsuit." She says with a wink.

Maybe it was due to the radiance of the setting sun cascading over the waters surrounding Cerulean or maybe it was because his heart skipped a beat in his chest; either way it takes Tyson a moment to find his next few words. "Right... Sounds good to me. Let's go get some sleep."

Guess she really did wanna go to the beach after all... Tyson smiles to himself contently as the two head back to town.

Stretch before Swimming

The next morning, you accompany Lucille to the beach as planned after morning training and swimsuit shopping.

The place is packed, absolutely swarming with Beachgoers, their pokemon, and hundreds of the more harmless and acclimated to human contact local pokemon, mostly Krabby, Wingull, and the like. Tyson currently sports a wide brimmed fisher's hat which sits on his shoulders above his bag, his sleeveless jacket, swimming trunks, and a pair of athletic flip flops. He appears to be watching something in the tide-pool from a crouching position.

"You know when I was younger Koga used to tell me stories of a creature that lived in the waters of Kanto. It typically resides deep within large bodies of water and every day, when the tide is high, it returns to water's edge attempting to lure in small children or those foolish enough to fall for it's guise- a small red gem resting beneath the water's surface. Those who find themselves caught by the creatures trap are simply spirited away and never seen again..." Tyson says watching Kasumi with distant eyes as she plays "tag" with a Krabby. The Frogadier deftly dodges the crabs claws and returns each failed swipe with a tag of it's own accompanied by a mischievous smirk. "That's the story he used to tell me anyway. Most native Kantonese now believe that this story was derived from unlucky encounters with wild Golduck. Others maintain that the accounts are true. While he never said whether or not he believed in the stories himself, I could tell that there was at least some truth in what he told me. So... What do you think? Are they just stories about wild Golduck or something else entirely?" He finishes returning to his usual demeanor.

Aegwynn did her best to weave through the crowded beach with Cassandra in tow. She didn't want to lose sight for her most recent traveling companion. Something did manage to catch her eye despite all the hullabaloo going on around the beach from people using dowsing machines to the various beach sports and even pokemon battles in the distance. A boy along with a girl standing beside a tide pool. She'd only met him, very briefly in Pewter, but his outburst during orientation back in Pallet seemed to stick with her. She only knew him by 'that guy who questioned the authority of the Pallet Gym Leader' but now she knows him as Tyson, the guy who was traveling with Ken and Cassandra.

Aegwynn tugged on Cassandra's sleeve to grab her attention in case it was wandering, as one's attention might do with so much activity around them. She looked at Cassandra and then pointed to the pairing at the tide pool, "I think that's Tyson over there." she said before making her way towards the two, making sure to avoid trampling anyone, even levitating over people unceremoniously laying on towels in her path. Finally she had managed to dodge, duck, dip, dive, and...dodge her way over to the pairing. She gently tapped Tyson upon the shoulder, seeming to have come upon the pairing just after he got done telling a story or something...she wasn't sure as she had only caught the tail end of it, "Someone would like to say Hello."

Aegwynn would stand aside for a moment and watch the inevitable reunion of Cassandra and Tyson. Aegwynn herself didn't have much connection with Tyson, only having really spoken to him only very briefly. She was also woefully unfamiliar with his traveling companion. She didn't seem familiar to her at all. Aegwynn just kind of awkwardly waved at Tyson's companion, "Uh...Hello. I'm Aegwynn, nice to meet you."

The Bug Knight continues to be unfazed by either Quake or Boomer's attacks, simply winding up for another jab at the Rhino. The Excadrill is buffeted by the heavy clumps of earth Quake is kicking up. The Prospector shouts orders to the increasingly agitated Excadrill, which leaps into the air and burrows underground again. The entire mountainside begins to shake, groaning timbers can be heard within the cave, loose boulders tumble down, and the entire plateau heaves and roils. bedrock is broken and violently displaced, one jutting spike bursts from the ground and collides with Boomer, while Quake is buffeted and thrown to the ground by the bedlam. The bug knight takes advantage of Boomer's distraction to slash it across the eyes with both lances, sending shards of Boomer's rocky carapace flying like shrapnel!

He jerks a thumb over his shoulder towards the barn like structure. "Bill ain't in tech support, you got a problem with Oak's tech, you gotta go see the man himself, what's your name?" His Bisharp continues to glare at you, but the massive dragon rests on it's haunches and scratches at the scales on it's neck.

The Waterfall

The man doesn't answer for several moments. Lucille opens her mouth to repeat her request when the man cuts her off. "Nature's Bounties are offered to all, one may as soon claim possession of them as the celestial bodies, or one's own fate." The man's eyes do not open, and you didn't see his lips move. Lucille looks back at you over her shoulder and shrugs.

The Dewott is flung to the ground once again and pushes itself shakily to it's feet. it raises up it's shells and wearily sets itself in a ready stance once again. It stares at Yojimbo floating, dripping, unmarred. it clenches its teeth and drops its shells and falls to it's knees in front of the sword. waiting for the end.

you find the local branch of Sam and Dean's Occultwerks, it looks almost identical to the one back in pewter... except about half the faith paper has to deal with garden variety ills and scammy sounding pronouncements 'prevent misfortune' 'find true love' 'stop dandruff' among others.

inside, you are greeted by a strong smell of Lavender, which you quickly source to a massive oil diffuser in the center of the room, and a robed man with a long thin mustache wearing a sedge hat that obscures his bespectacled eyes. "Greetings, welcome to Mahk-lae's Cerulean branch of the esteemed Sam and Dean's occults.... how may I serve you today?"

Tyson, Aegwynn, and Cassandra:

Lucille answers Tyson as Aegwynn and Cassandra join them at the tide pool.

"I dunno, I normally don't go in for all that stuff, but a Gym Leader should know what they're talking about, so... maybe? It could just be a shiny pokemon... maybe we should look for it while we're waiting?"

When Aegwynn greets the tawny haired trainer, she gives a slight smile and a small wave. "Nice to meet you, I'm Lucille. You're one of Tyson's traveling companions? or were until he decided to try and keep up with me?" She says with a not quite hidden smirk towards Tyson.

I went with Ken up in the Western Pewter mountains on a retrieval job. I accompanied Cassandra through the Mt. Moon tunnel and now here we are." she stated with a small smile to Lucille, "It's a pleasure to meet you as well." she said as she pulled her Pokedex out of her pocket, slowly fiddling through the few entries that she had, "Say...you wouldn't have seen like...a little penguin pokemon waddling around these parts, yeah?" she inquired, "I've read about them during my studies, and I would adore adding one to my team."

As the otter falls to its knees, Yojimbo slices through the air one last time to dry his bladed edge before clicking back home in his scabbard. Cassandra comes up beside the Honedge and offers her hand to the exhausted Dewott to help it to it's feet. "Do you understand now? You still have a lot to learn. We can help you with that though," she says with a smile. "Will you come with us?"

The ghostly sword seems to nod at the otter, blinking his single blue eye. His sash-hand takes the hat from the top of the Sage's bag and places it atop his pommel so that his eye is once more covered in shadow.

If the otter is receptive Cassandra will offer a green topped Pokeball with red markings with her other hand.

Cassandra sighs as she breathes in the relaxing scent of lavender when she enters the shop. The smell reminded of home. It wasn't often that she didn't have incense burning or a diffuser going somewhere in the temple.

"It is very nice to meet you, sir," she says, bowing deeply to the man after his introduction. "My name is Cassandra Kelani. My friend and I are looking for Evolutionary Stones. I need two Moon Stones and my friend needs a Water Stone. Do you happen to have any in stock? If not, could you point me in a direction that I could find them? The Pokemon that we need the Stones for are valuable members of our teams and I don't believe it would do them justice to not be able to evolve to their full potential."

Tyson!? The Sage's face cracks into a grin as Aegwynn begins to lead her across the beach. Cassandra has a hard time keeping up her telekinetic friend, since she's not able to float over all of the people laying out on towels and has to stop every few seconds for a quick bow and apology to those she bumps into, but she manages it and eventually makes it to the tide pool.

"Tyson!" she yells as she crosses the last few meters of distance between her and her first partner. She throws her arms out for a hug. "How are you? I see you made it over the mountain in one piece."

Cassandra steps back, blushing a little. "Hey Lucille," she says, shifting her attention to the tawny haired girl. "Did he keep up with you okay?" she asks with a half smirk.

So the mad scientist's name is Bill? Tyson slowly extends a hand to the larger man as he tries to avoid provoking an attack from the Bisharp, and continues. "I'm Tyson Hughes, from Fuchsia City." He waits for Lucille to introduce herself. "We're both trainers on the Pallet circuit. There were rumors about a scientist specializing in pokemon living on the outskirts of Cerulean so we decided to follow the cape until we stumbled across him. Looks like our plan worked out in the end? Well... sorta? If Bill isn't too busy do you think we could talk to 'im for a bit?" Tyson's eyes move over to the massive dragon resting behind the similarly large man. "Oh and before I forget. My pokedex says that the big guy over there is a Haxorus. Where'd you even find something like that? Never seen anything like before today."

The Waterfall

The man doesn't answer for several moments. Lucille opens her mouth to repeat her request when the man cuts her off. Tyson looks from Lucille to the man on the rocks before his eyes return to meet the blonde's. He begins to walk over to the rocks in silence and gestures for Kasumi, Lucille, and the rest of her pokemon to follow him. Once he's underneath the waterfall Tyson will find a stone large enough for both himself and Kasumi to sit on and assume a position suitable for meditation. "Wanna try your hand at meditation Kasumi? It's easy. Make yourself as comfortable as possible, then still yourself." Tyson closes his eyes and continues. "Close your eyes... breathe slowly... and let the water flow over you, cleansing both body and mind. Free yourself from the illusions of the physical world. Let go..."

Beach Bums

A gentle tap on the shoulder is enough to get Tyson's attention. The ninja boy looks over his shoulder before turning around and standing to face a young woman with snowy white features offset by bright blue eyes.

"Someone would like to say Hello."

Oh, it's Snow White! Wait... what was her name again? Oh yeah that's right!

"Uh, it's 'Gwynn' right? Well Aegwynn actually but you know what I mean. Haven't seen ya since we went our separate ways in Pewter!" Tyson smiles warmly as he continues. "So how was your trip to Cerulean? And did your job ever end up panning out?" Tyson almost immediately finds his mind illuminated by his sudden realization. "Oh yeah, where's Ken?" His eyes briefly scan the ocean of people surrounding them before returning to the telekinetic. But before she can respond to him Tyson hears a familiar voice over the sounds of the masses.

"Tyson!" Cassandra yells as she crosses the last few meters of distance between her and her first partner. She throws her arms out for a hug. "How are you? I see you made it over the mountain in one piece."

"I'd just remembered something I'd overheard before I left Pewter. There were two trainers that Lucille had been traveling with that she'd left behind because they couldn't keep up. And I know Ken couldn't keep up with her. I was just poking some fun," she replies, smirk widening.

"That's good to hear at least." Only a second or two passes by before a few of Cassandra's words catch up to him. "Wait... What? So when did you get blown up by Geodude!? You look like you're okay to me."

The Klinklang in his mind begins to a little bit faster in an attempt to piece things together.

"And I remember her sayin' something along those lines now that you mention it. They were from some academy I've never even heard of..." Tyson laces his fingers behind his head and continues his thought. "Yeah I figured as much." He sticks his tongue out at the oracle then laughs. "So where is everyone's favorite fire starter anyway? I figured he would be with you or Gwynn at least? And uh..."

He trails off as he searches through the faces of the growing crowd before starting up again. "I don't see that Ox or his Rhyhorn around; they're pretty hard to miss. Tell me he didn't decide to tag long with you two?" Tyson's expression is less than enthused at this point.

"It was the first day I left with Lennox on that trip to take a package up the mountains. We ran into some kind of Geodude minefield in the middle of the road. I thought the fight was going pretty well until two of them exploded. I managed to put up a barrier on Reks and myself to block most of the damage, and Lennox's Rhyhorn protected him, but his Skiddo was pretty heavily injured."

Her smirk widens a little more hearing Tyson call the Lennox and ox. "Lennox and Ken traveled with us up until we got to the entrance of the underground tunnel of Mt. Moon. Aegwynn would simply nod, "Going through the tunnel wasn't too bad of an idea either. Not only did we cut a good bit of time off of our journey, but we found some rather interesting pokemon in the tunnel too. I managed to catch Drekar..." she said as she plucked a pokeball off of her belt and released a small black and blue quadruped. It shook itself as the sun hit its dark fur and smooth blue scales. It seemed to cant its head upward, staring straight at the sun above them, though it didn't seem bothered by it one bit. The little Deino then turns its head to the various shapes he was able to make out, recognizing one simply as his trainer and timidly crawling between her legs and then 'staring' back at the other trio of trainers, "I'm lucky to have caught a few uncommon specimens. This Deino is just one of them."

She listened to Cassandra talk about Lennox and Ken deciding to take the path over the mountain, "I had my share of mountains for a bit. Got that when Ken and I went to retrieve the lost Heavy Ball...though I do hope he's alright. That Lennox seems like a...rough personality..." she said meekly before crouching down a bit to pet and pat her Deino on the head.

"It was the first day I left with Lennox on that trip to take a package up the mountains. We ran into some kind of Geodude minefield in the middle of the road. I thought the fight was going pretty well until two of them exploded. I managed to put up a barrier on Reks and myself to block most of the damage, and Lennox's Rhyhorn protected him, but his Skiddo was pretty heavily injured."

Her smirk widens a little more hearing Tyson call Lennox an ox. "Lennox and Ken traveled with us up until we got to the entrance of the underground tunnel of Mt. Moon. Tyson removes his pokedex from his bag and registers the Deino. "Never seen anything like this little guy before. Seems mild mannered for sure." Hmm? "Hey Lucille, check it out. This dragon makes us two for two. Catching a dragon like that Haxorus we saw back on the cape wouldn't be bad at all right?"

He deposits his pokedex back into his bag. "Rough's selling the guy a bit short don'tcha think?..." He shakes his head as he recalls the cellar of Omaine's. "So if you two aren't out here to work on your tans, what are you up to?"

In two fluid motions a blue amphibian hops out of the tide pool and onto Tyson's back, popping a bubble in his ear after she making herself comfortable. "Really?" Tyson responds with a smirk. "I take it you had fun playing with that Krabby?" He asks the Frogadier before looking back to the group of girls.

The man crosses his arms and shoos his Bisharp away. it glares at you one last time before stomping off. "Who, him?" he says, glancing at the dragon with a grin. "I got him from a Dragon hunting buddy of mine, years ago." He looks you up and down again and narrows his eyes. "Tyson... Hughes? I think an mutual acquaintance is here waiting for you actually. they're probably not working on anything to explosive, let's go see." The man turns and gestures for you to follow him. The Bisharp falls into step with him, and the dragon wanders off to watch the ocean, though it keeps glancing skyward. when you reach the door, the man knocks twice and then pushes the door open without waiting for an answer. "Hey Bill, that kid your fanboy told you about is here."

Inside is enough shiny, incomprehensible tech covered in blinking lights and gauges and buttons and switches to make the museum exhibit look like a yard sale in comparison. Three massive tanks that tower over you dominate the far wall, the brackish fluid contained within bubbles occasionally and some mass floats within resting on an armature near the center of the room is a massive skeleton, next to it is a massive, heavily reinforced steel table. scattered over the table is a variety of fluids, at least one of which is recognizable as a thick, viscous oil. the fluids are pooling out of a massive, gutted piece of machinery that you could probably crawl into comfortably. A man with crazed hair and thick glasses is shoulder deep in the thing, manipulating something further within. He's muttering to himself and doesn't seem to have heard you enter.

Mahk-lae inclines his head and hides his hands in his sleeves. "I will check for you, but I believe we are out of stock." He inclines his head again and shuffles into the back. A red pokemon with a red underside with many legs and massive claws scuttles out of the dark recesses of the store. It's foaming at the mouth and clacks it's massive pincers angrily. it scuttles around to watch you and clacks at you. menacingly. its eyes shift back and forth.

After a few moments Mahk-lae returns and the pops more bubbles before scurrying about in a circle before retreating back into the stock-area.

"My apologies, are you staying in town long? I may be able to sell you one in a few days time." He bows slightly.

I forgot to mention earlier, but during your 2 days of training, you saw Lucille get her new water type to evolve

Lucille cringes slightly when Aegwynn reveals she's traveled with Ken. "Ken, as in Ken Kogane, the next Fire Type Master? you have my sympathies." She peers at your pokedex, cupping her hands over the screen to shade it from the light. she shakes her head "I haven't, but I confess I haven't been looking, I caught a new water type I wanted north of town and I haven't been looking since."

She tosses her hair out of her eyes and smiles at Cassandra "Yeah, he did alright, I guess. For a Ninja."

Lucille hangs back a moment and lets the group have their reunion before allowing herself to be drawn back into the conversation. She interjects that the trainers Cassandra are referring to are from the Kanto campus of the Hite Academy of Excellence.

When Tyson brings up the impending grudge match with Ken, Lucille's smirk falls away and an intense glow comes into her eyes and she stares passed the group, seeing beyond the beach. A grim smile traces its way across her features. "yeah, I'm looking forward to it, it's overdue."

The Excadrill burrows back out of the ground near the prospector and rests on it's haunches, breathing heavily. The Bug Knight floats just above. The Prospector rests a boot on a newly upthrust boulder and brandishes his pickaxe. "I think it's past time you left before you wear out the last of my patience." he growls. His machoke stomps over and shoves Lennox in the chest, pushing him away from the mine entrance. It flexes a bicep and sneers at Lennox.

Aegwynn heard Lucille lamenting about Ken as she pocketed her pokedex after hearing about not seeing a small penguin. Such as shame, but she did get a few hints about where she should start looking if she was interested in finding one. Sounds like the tourists don't venture much further than this area of the beach...and that further north should be less populated with people, and more with pokemon! She canted her head to the side, "Yeah, I guess that Ken? Why your sympathies?" she asked rather genuinely. There were times she had to help Ken out of a bind, but other than that, the journey was moderately pleasant I suppose."

She recalled Drekar, looking to Tyson after his next question rattled off to her and Cassandra, "I suggested we go to the beach, was hoping to find pokemon. But...it seems it's just people." she frowned before perking up just a bit, "But Lucille said further north she managed to catch something, so perhaps we'll try our luck there sometime. Other than that, I suppose I need to train a bit...I'm sure that my team is a little lacking compared to a few of the others I've traveled with..." she said rather meekly, hoping to not be judged by Lucille and Tyson for coming so far with a team that was not quite at the same level as others.

Cassandra is a bit uncomfortable as the red crustacean eyes her after the odd man goes to check the back of his shop. She bows to the Pokemon and waits uneasily for Mahk-lea to return.

When he does, Cassandra has to hide her disappointment, though her spirits are lifted after he finishes speaking. "We'll be here for at least two days, maybe three? Which stones could you procure?"


Beach Bums

Cassandra pats Aegwynn's shoulder reassuringly. "Your team is not 'lacking'. Sure they might be a little behind level-wise, but they more than make up for it in personality and heart." The Sage nods and steps back. "They'll get a bunch of experience from the Gym too."

"I would love to walk up the beach. We could release our teams and let them play in the sand and waves as we walk."
