    Round 7: Begin!
    Imperial Reckoning 121-123
Don’t forget to link to any rolls you make for ANY Attribute checks, plus rolls for rulers you will start using at the start of next round. If you want a new ruler in the next round, you must state so in your action post for this round and link to their rolls. Any increases from actions for this round are counted for the ruler you start your next round with (because it’s handier to account for by the co-GM), which may or may not be your current ruler.

    Good luck!

    Rules Alerts & Changes!

    Growth!
Region 55 is no longer in Unrest!
Region 56 is no longer in Unrest!
Region 6 is no longer in Unrest
Region 25 is now controlled by the Gwitna Coalition! They gain one unit!
Perivan is now a vassal of Avakonia!
Region 72 is now controlled by the Kadangan Wetlands

    Trade!
In Region 62 the proclamations of the Firethorne Regiment that all slaves are now free men sparks much fear and anger among the slaveowning class, especially in light of recent events regarding the selling of slaves to the pician hordes in order to buy peace. The potential for a massive slave uprising is seen as inevitable by many large slave owning families. No longer feeling constrained by rule of decency or even a modicum of honor the major slave owning families of the region openly make a deal with the Picians. While the full price to be paid is yet unclear it seems the elite have sold their fellows to the devils from the sea that they not bend the knee to the devils riding under the Regiment's banner. (The Realm of the Tides successfully buys out TP 1 and TP 2 of Slaves in Region 62)

The persevering and quickly expanding merchant networks from the Kadangan Wetlands establish outposts in the unclaimed lands to their north. Upon the westernmost island in the Ortassa the Kadangan merchants replicate the patterns used by their predecessors to establish a monopoly back home. Despite the more historic and less intrinsic value of the resource the mercantile tricks are well applied and the region's output quickly turns to Kadangan profit. Elsewhere Kadangan merchants skirt the chaos of Region 62's slave trade and establish an contract with a number of farms for exporting Mul Root to the Kadangan homeland. (The Kadangan Wetlands successfully buys out TP 1 for Idol Fragments in Region 57 and TP 1 for Mul Root in Region 63)

Confident in their economic power and influence the Kadangan merchants enter the Avakonian Empire looking to trade. Either sensing an opportunity to try and parley such a deal into a masterstroke of diplomacy or simply greedy and confidence in the Empress' disinterest the local minister of Region 65 signs a contract with the foreign merchants granting them rights to untapped copper mines in the hills. (The Kadangan Wetlands successfully buys out TP 2 for Copper in Region 65 and TP 2 for Salt in region 67)

Uncertain of the security of their routes in the violence of the present age, Daraki tradesmen take care to ensure the safety of their routes before making several deals with inland merchants of [Region 59] for quality Textiles to take back to their home islands. Though the region is much too dry for their comfort, several representatives are able to find middlemen to transport the goods to sea. (Wuzei Darak successfully buys out TP 1 for Textiles in Region 59)

    Faith!
After a resurgent growth in recent years the practice of Initia joins Jalyeong-bo, Coatl Perijanism, and the Pantheon of Ildía as a recognized modern faith with active adherents and an organized structure. Many guests at the Regnan Gathering of the Minds are witness to the blooming faith's minor miracle to connect the minds of Initiates. This ritual conducted by Grand Magus Viclean intends to cement Initia among the respected pursuits of the mind and spirit. While the Gathering is haunted by the dark clouds of its mysterious assailants they do little to dampen the spirits of Initiates in months to come as the new power of their faith begins to be more fully explored. (Initia is now Organized)

The Linnadi Council officially sanctifies the practice of Coatl Perijanism in the Highlands, the Green Coast, and wherever else the Linnadi banner might lay claim in years to come. (Ti Linnad declares Coatl Perijanism their State Religion)

With unrest mounting in the region the Kunai sent not only diplomats but theologians and teachers of Honmyo to Yasei to induct the people into their way of life. Where once they had rejected their conquerors now as they came to understand them the Kunai found ready believers among them. (Region 55 Open HC 3 is converted to Honmyo)

Jalyeong-bo shamans from the Amham Federation alarmed at the tales of fish creatures the size of men that walk and fight with ferocity heretofore unseen embark on a grand pilgrimage to seek these supposedly haunted waters and attempt to quell whatever upset spirit is surely the cause. News of the Picians reaches the Shamans over their journey and by the time of their arrival at the broken coast of Fresia have resolved themselves to a harrowing task. Calling upon friendly spirits of the sea Jalyeong-bo Shamans descend into the waters around Fresia and attempt to engage with the Pician horde. While the shamans are given ample proof to tales of the aquatic species' bloodthirsty nature they also find among the fish folk the curious and intrigued. Eventually the shamans are able to breach the Pician outer shell of hostility and are introduced to the sacred sights believed to be infected with a demonic spirit. The decaying health of the Speaker leaves the theocracy ill fit to deal with the sudden spiritual coup as the Jalyeong-bo Shamans perform rituals and rites that disturb and undo the normal rites conducted for the Leviathan. Soon all the sacred sites of Fresia, including the once-palace of Antonius now turned Grand Temple, have been desecrated against the Leviathan and sanctified in the name of Jalyeong-bo. The shamans depart soon after as those Picians that had once let curiosity outweigh bloodlust realize the extent of the land dwellers' actions. (Fresia (70) HCs 1, 2, and 3 are converted to Jalyeong-Bo)

With an active religious leader in Amham at its helm Jalyeong-bo easily dwarfs the other organized religions of the lands. With such a backing, it is not difficult for shamans across the land to distribute small stones marked with engraved symbols that key spirit observers to keep watch for nefarious activity in spirit lands. (Jalyeong-bo activates Largest Bonus: -2 to Secret Action rolls against a Jalyeong-bo State)

The Theocracy of Coatl produces a relic the reflects the region's long struggle to acquire that which made it possible. The Scales of the Hydra, forged from iron imported from Azenhal after many years of work and negotiation, are a perfectly balanced set of weights and scales for measuring amounts from sprinklings to fistfuls of goods. The immaculate measuring device is placed in the care of the Rightly Guided Exarch, a generous boon to be granted upon the enterprising merchant or adventurer who tickled His Majesty's fancy. (Theocracy of Coatls introduces Relic: Scales of the Hydra for +1 on Buyouts)

Initiates from the lands of Azenhal venture northwards into the recently annexed Liop to seek eager minds for education and induction into the faith. Initia Aspect Scholars set up a sort of demonstration area and platform at the region's Central Hill and talk for days, then weeks, then months on end to a fluctuating crowd of people about the tenets of Initia. While the degree to which the Abhidists fully grasped the concepts of Initia is questionable what isn't is that the Scholars had a tangible effect on the region's formerly monolithic belief system. (Liop (43) Holy Center 3 is converted from Abhidi to Initia)

Dvatla is relieved by the return of the statuette of Niznikli. It has a power, perhaps mystical, perhaps not, to reinforce the convictions of those who look upon it, and with it's reconsecration, it shall be viewed once more by those with faith. (Dvatla introduces Relic: Great Idol of Dazelis for +1 on Conversions)

Lacian priests help to remind the folk of [Region 36] of the truest and greatest of the gods; Eon. (Region 36 Holy Centers 2 and 3 are converted from Abhidi and Dejanism to Pantheon of Ildia)

    War!

On the shores of [Region 32], boats make landfall. To it's south, a great host clamors for blood, distracting the bulk of their army, as the raiders of Gwitna steal behind enemy lines. The walled cities fall one by one, as skirmishes between Coatlan and native troops occupy both of their time. When Coatl finally seizes an advantage and pushes them back, the armies find no shelter waiting for them. Only the spears and blades of Gwitna troops on top of walls that once flew their own banners. It is not long before they surrender.

In [Region 22], there is a new king. The coronation is a subdued affair, with the upcoming battles at the fore of everyone's mind. Born Yhan Sveniopas, now King Yaroslova Obrokienne of the former Mandanagar Empire, now the Kingdom of Obroslo, given his position by glory at arms and the gods of heave. His first act as king is to reassert his right to the throne by way of victory against the sky-riders of Ti Linnad; by now his people have trained and learned from their battles, and prepared special weaponry. Impatient and unprepared, the Wingknights, now overconfident in their capabilities, are cut down in droves. Siege weapons adapted to fire upwards, launching many small stones capable of breaking wings and breaking skulls, weighted barbed nets tied to darts, and archers hidden in trees; the constant harassment becomes a significant burden on the foraging capabilities of the Linnadi armies, and over the course of several months, the forces of the Premier are forced out once more.

They attacked at dusk. There was no warning. There was no mercy. It was not fitting to call it a war. A slaughter, more like, as nobles and governors were dragged out of their homes in the middle of the night and ripped limb from limb. Their leader, skilled in leading men, was not so skilled at personal combat, and when he was taken, with nary a trace left to be found even of struggle, the remaining holdouts gave in to their new dark masters. Their lands belong to Khirus, now.

    Terror!

Looking into the actions that precipitated the slaughter at the festivities in Regno, Gwitna trackers together with Firethorn agents find themselves working together to determine who may have done this. What they find is rather...unnerving. Though it is not entirely unexpected that slave trading networks in Iadesh were behind the mercenary attacks, it seems likely that the masked men did not come to the meeting at all. Instead, the clothes and masks were evidently carried into the reception tent by the mercenaries and deposited shortly before the events occurred. From what information can be gathered elsewhere throughout Emjata, the methods are indicative of the Bloodied Hands, whose influence has apparently been growing.

Investigation by Firethorn Regiment about potential plots 12
Unfortunately, the Firethorn Regiment isn't able to discover much about external plots meant to take down the Empress beyond the typical fethhead dreams of taking over an empire, disgruntled nobles grousing about their lot, and the usual Honmyo-planning to sabotage or kill anyone and everyone in a position of power. Just in case. Internal plots are somewhat harder to discover, and the more dangerous ones...while one or two peasant uprisings aimed more at their local government than the Empress herself (save as a symbol of the authority they resent) are prevented, and there are plenty of folks upset, it doesn't seem out of line with normal reactions to the changes the Empress has been making, and her means of implementing them.

The investigation by the vampires don't reveal as much as they would like; it is very difficult to take a Pician alive; normal hypnosis has no effect, apparently. Perhaps their minds are simply too distinct?

Disaster strikes! In [Region 38], an offshoot of an Abhidic religious sect, known as Sattyathanya seek to do more than quietly seek the union between Aadvaitah and Jyotih. Noticing His Diminishing presence in the world, the warrior-monks of Vashthiya strike out against the shadows of the world. Demons walk on land, and beasts roam the world as if they were men. Lesser reflections of the Abhidic faith presume themselves superior to His majesty. They must all be purged, so that the world itself may become as a mirror for His glory. Nearly twenty-thousand soldiers declare themselves for the One True God from which all else emanates. Glory unto Him!

The corrupt spirits, warped reflections of Abhidi as they are, are the first to be...purified. (HC 2 of Region 38 is Purged)

Sattyathanya gains 8 Units in Region 38.

However, this uprising inspires similar events in nearby lands...the people remember their faith. And they shall not brook the intrusions of foreigners.

Regions 35, 42, and 43 experience Sattyathanyaist Revolts!
Holy Center 1 of Region 35 is converted to Abhidi!
Holy Center 3 of Region 35 is Purged!
Region 35 is in Rebellion! 2 Sattyathanya units spawn!
Holy Center 3 of Region 42 is converted to Abhidi!
Region 42 is in Rebellion! 4 Sattyathanya units spawn!
Region 43 is in Rebellion! 4 Sattyathanya units spawn!

Difficulties in securing the area, together with bandit clans gaining a semblance of legitimacy have resulted in Region 1 becoming Unstable!
Unaccustomed to organized leadership, much less the rule of secretive clans with a society based around intrigue, deception, and assassination, the people of Region 55 are uncooperative with attempts to rouse them after several 'attacks' by Honmyo traditionalists, involving the corpses of prominent priests being found hanging from the region, their 'names carved into their flesh. Region 55 is in Unrest!
Slave revolts and slaver retaliation have combined to make Region 62 into a hellhole for everyone involved. Death is a common sight. Where once, the personal slaves of the elites were almost as pampered as the elites themselves, now all have to struggle for basic sustenance. Region 62 is Unstable!

In region 65, a group of elves are found in the middle of a field, seemingly conducting some ritual. Within an hour, local militia are roused to come to the scene, to find it empty, apart from a saltwater pool now in the middle of the field.

In Telir Gaza, a group of merchants hoping to gain favor with the king turn over control of most of the refined output from the iron mines they control. (Dvatla gains control of trading center 2 for Iron in region 12)

The constant struggle in region 60 has spread beyond it's borders. Region 61 is in Anarchy!

Region 68 is in Rebellion! 3 Hosran units spawn!
Region 19 is no longer controlled by Perivan!

The Empress' new underhanded tactics have displeased certain members of the Empire. Region 14, 47, and 66 are in Unrest!

    Round 7
    [Desert of Magic]

    Regno (8), Iadesh (7)

    [Grand Magus Viclean]

    Actions:
    1. [Faith] [Faith 5 Special: Holy Order] (Region 8) With the full support of Grand Magus Viclean, a new Initia Academy is built, just south of Bratus, City in the Shrubs. This large Academy becomes one of the new hubs of governance for Initia across Emjata, and to show his faith in it's teachers, the Grand Magus houses the Staff of Bray inside what people are calling Bratus Academy. The Legionaires take to calling the guards that work there The Enlightened.
    2. [Economy] Arrange for the purchase of Iadeshian Camels from the city of Cataracta in Iadesh
(Supported Buyout of first [un-owned] Trade Post, Region 7, Roll: 17)
    3. [Economy] To better arm their defenders, Umbo Iadesh the Seventh reaches out to Iron merchants in D̨vatla.
(Supported Buyout of first [un-owned] Trade Post, Region 12, Roll: 13)

      4. Set up new living quarters for former slaves, and secure jobs for them for the next five years [Econ]
      5. Governmental purchase of slaves, freeing them [Econ]

    Non-Actions:
    • Regno announces a bounty on Slave Tradesman Scuipat's living capture. If the slaver is found dead, the bounty is for information regarding the where-abouts of the Bloodied Hand's headquarters. Both Bani and Sapphires are being offered as part of the reward.
    • Have Ambassadors at the Conference of the Burned Field
    • Send dignitaries to Amham's state funeral for the late Baek Gyeon. No business is discussed. Only a great man is honored. The Regnans leave soon after thanking Seok Gyeon, and expressing their own solidarity with his endeavors in any way that Regno or Iadesh is able to assist.
    • Support Izbefe's buyout of Iadeshian Camels from the Dacia near Maiorum Ruins (TP2 of R7)

    Spoiler: News and Rumors
    Show

    • The slavery in Iadesh bothers many people within Regno - and also Iadesh - but the Grand Magus and Umbo Iadesh the Seventh continue to honor the agreements made by Umbo Iadesh the Sixth. They push forward on the plan to reform slavery from Iadeshian lands, and in the year 122, finally begin the purchase and freedom of slaves. All slavery in Iadesh ends near the end of the year 123, with all former slaves and former slave owners being compensated appropriately.
    • Early in the year 121, two new boys are born to Magi Tutum Sortis's family. The heir names the eldest Umbo Sortis the First, and the younger one is given the name Viclean Sortis the Second... who everyone in the city of Sortis just calls 'Junior'.
    • The Pician threat still occupies the far off Concordance. The Grand Magus continues to remain publicly calm about the situation, but it is rumored that he is privately torn on the matter, and may secretly be happy that his friends in Amham are doing what they can to enlighten the so called 'fishmen'. The new Magi in the Concordance seem to be helping the new Magus Bram, in whatever way they can, though they refrain from actively attacking Picians unless they or the Magus are threatened.
    • Captain Disca, lead Regno guardsman to Ambassador Riola Greybeak from Whitefeather, finally acknowledges that his duties now seem to include being the Ambassador's secretary, since after a decade of guarding her, she still hasn't found someone else. Where the captain can't hear, many guards make the joke that the Ambassador just doesn't want the Oamenii man far from her side.
    • Magi Sortiment, the Ambassador to Whitefeather and his Dawntalon wife - and daughter - continue to gain clout in the Crescent. Trowpic Sortis, now Trowpic Whitefeather, continues to visit them, lending his own support to Dawntalon actions. Yet most of the clout that they wield is reportedly utilized to help the needy and those whom have trouble with the Inyoni Blessing. Trowpic and Sortiment spend many nights drinking and laughing together, and it is rumored that the son of Grand Magus Viclean may soon be a father himself...
    • The Firethorn Regiment is still looked upon with trepidation, but less so after the events of the Gathering of Minds. Heir Tutum Sortis acknowledges that without the Regiment's Amerah Kren in attendance, he likely would have been dead. No one is comfortable with the Regiment being so close to Regno, but there is less open hostility.
    • Speaker Arunca, of Family Newbess, Ambassador to D̨vatla, continues to document military practices, and it's rumored he is even taking part in actively learning new defensive martial arts.
    • Jalyeong-Bo followers within Iadesh seem to be skeptical of what happened in the Gathering of Minds. Friends they knew are suddenly silent a larger portion of the time, somehow talking to people from down the street. It takes some time, and a few friendships are changed or lost, but things start to feel normal eventually.
    • Magi Vecto was rumored to have been seen again! His current where-abouts were unknown, but an Aspectus in the Concordance swears that they heard the Magi's mental communication. He's then next found at the Conference of the Burned Field.
    • Emissary, from the Satsujin Clan, continues to be well treated in Sortis. Though being his guard is now something of a punishment - and training - for Legionnaires. Not because the Kunai Clansman is prone to disappearing (though that does happen) but because of the number of ladies - and their mothers - whom continue to bother Ambassador Emissary, hoping to secure a marriage. Things seem to die down when Comoara of Family Casnic starts coming up from Bratus for the Academy construction, and catches Emissary's eye. Though not of the Bratus family, Family Casnic is well known and respected in the City in the Shrubs as well as in Sortis itself. Soon, an old Oamenii women - rumored to be Soc Fodina - is seen going around the City in the Sand and talking to various mothers. The line of girls dies down.
    • Umbo Iadesh the Seventh is rumored to have had a strange conversation with some of his top merchants. Supposedly, he's asking around about large quantities of Fish, as well as preservatives, and other mercantile items that could be found in Imperial lands. This is likely due to the talk that Regno and Iadesh hear about new technologies that are now being seen in Emjata.
    • Many within Petram, the City in the Shallows, begin to speculate as to what could be to the north of them. Not just directly on the other side of the Twin Peaks, but further north then that. This type of conversation is starting to spread throughout Regno.
    • Though it takes many years, and the support of other Ambassadors like Sortiment and Vecto, Speaker Urias finally receives permission to travel to Khirus as an envoy. With him, he takes two Aspectus guards, Avantat and Darnic. With the revelation at the Conference of the Burned Field, the three will be keeping a close eye on each other, so as to avoid any unpleasant and unwanted changes to their physiology. Speaker Urias has said, on record, that there are no plans for him being married while in Khirus. The new Ambassador to Khirus is expected to arrive sometime in early 124.

The Imperial State of Varjik/The Firethorn Regiment
    Vassal of the Avakonian Empire

High Opstegos Amerah Kren the Liberator and Head Firethorn Captain
    Diplomacy: 4
    Military: 10
    Economy: 1
    Intrigue: 10
    Faith: 1

    Actions for Round 7
    1. [Military] Raid [Violet Oak] R53 TP1 (Roll: 15)
The Violet Oak of region 53 has for many years been seen as a purely traditional and private thing within that community, bearing little value outside of the region. With the introduction of the violet oath pushed by the head of intelligence, however, there has been a sudden and dramatic spike of demand. Staying almost entirely out of trade matters (with the exception of the slave conflicts), the Regiment taxes only about well enough to support it's own army and provide some essential services - just barely enough to qualify as a government in traditional terms. When it so happens that a region under their command has a resource they require, particularly one as divided as R53, there are few qualms within the chain of command about taking what is needed to perpetuate the new policy.
    2. [Intrigue 10] Invent the Violet Oath - +1 defense against secret actions [Requires Violet Oak]
The clans of Derokar have held a tradition using the sap of trees in their forests for as long as anyone can remember. The sap of these trees, when ingested raw, can prevent those from speaking from telling lies. Applying this to all sorts of officials (soldiers, spies, diplomats, etc) when they take their oath of loyalty to the regiment can help to determine the integrity of each soldier, and determine who can be trusted with higher profile tasks. Applying it across an entire regiment takes no small amount of this sap each year, but does help to prevent corruption.
    3. [Diplomacy] Stabilize Ka-Ruun [R62] (Using Empress' Dip Score) (Roll: 15)
After so much back and fourth in Ka-Ruun, the Firethorn Regiment finally relents. Still in control of the area, the military there begrudgingly holds off in their righteous mission in order to prevent revolts. Attempting to go about it in a more official matter, the Regiment petitions to the authority of the empire to help assert the righteousness of their claim. Weather or not the empire itself truly agrees, this does tend to make for a convincing argument when you have the world's largest military force at your back.
    4. [Intrigue] Raid [Mercenaries] in R28 TP3 (Roll: 18)
As manpower dwindles across Firethorn territory and the constant struggle to reform the slavery of Ka-Ruun sending the region into unrest, a decision is made to back off for a while and allow the situation to calm down. All the while, the Regiment looks to other places for reinforcements.. Places like the Isles of Lazar, a hub for mercenaries of all kinds. A group of bannermen go to lead a company of their own mercenaries in the area, using their time across three years to inspire a following and a healthy expansion of willing soldiers. Men and women working under them have their loyalties converted to that of the imperial regiment, and those who become well enough inducted over the three years are returned to Varjik to take the violet oath.
    5. [Military] Raise another unit!
Technically part of the larger domain of Avakonia, Lady Captain Amerah Kren makes the decision to recruit their next batch of men from the empire itself. The tactic is phenomenally successful in replenishing ranks, but the council hopes that their liege does not look upon the action as a breach of boundaries.

    Spoiler: News and Rumors
    Show
    • After years of tugging back and fourth with the picans to decide who should gain possession of the workers in Liberathia, the regiment seems to be willing to broker a deal for the people they now consider their own. Actions

1:[DIPLOMACY] Before region 39 can reorganize and become overly disruptive the kindred move in attempting to take control of the minds of the leadership they had not efficiently extinguished. As well as bringing gifts and the promise of "Democracy and the beauty of the Republic!" (Rolled a 9 leading to failure)
2:[MILITARY] A second unit of Republic guards is raised so that men can kill men instead of sacrificing those who are reborn with the blood. An excellent means to dispel rumors of necromancy. (1 unit)
3:[INTRIGUE] Monitoring region 38 and the religious armies that have been raised in the area. Special attempts are made to monitor military leadership.
4:[INTRIGUE] A series of covert assassinations are planned on the rebellious elements in the basins (Region 41) a series of carriage accidents and duels are planned for them so as not to direct the ire of the people toward the government... However the kindred cannot help themselves but send one message whoever is the most influential among the dissident factions is met with the best of the mask makers and their first face is claimed.
5:[DIPLOMACY] Knowing the desire for profit over freedom Razzak (region 39) is approached a second time deeper into the second year of being conquered and a great deal of wealth is brought to the region. Offering a variety of gifts to the remaining leadership as well as promising them a chance to elect representatives that define their values so they can ensure coin continues to enter the region. (SUCCESS stabalized region 39 rolled a 14)

    News and Rumours
    • The terror from region 38 has the worshipers of Jaelong-Bo terrified that they will be massacred by these Sattyathanya horrors. The Republic swears religious freedoms of ALL types will be upheld.
    • Curfew remains under affect due to the continued threat of interlopers and terrorists.
    • The Republican Guard is being touted as the very pinnacle of military achievement and recruitment is at an all time high!
    • The fear of the Picians is challenged as a new diplomat is unveiled to the people. Diplomat Purbagle of the Pician race is now a formal citizen of the republic, he has been taught the language of the Republic. He is tauted as a hero who will aid in negotiations with the Picians and a promise of safety for the people of Khirus.
    • The gathering of the minds is viewed as a HUGE success and pro Regno talk is being pushed by some within the Republic
    • Election years are coming up and several seats are on the line.
    • Republic leadership is heading out to the Conference of the Burned Fields.

“F*** these zealot basta*ds.” The usual poise of the ladies of the night was shattered as Mila threw her veil to the side and her eyes looked up into the insidious green of the Elysium. Comforting leathers mixed with artificial light which grew exotic plants in every corner. They encroached on the living space of the kindred but it meant nothing they all loved its wild splendor. Mila had always had a temper, she had always let things slither out of her mouth that were meant to be bottled out. The monsters within had to be contained otherwise they would devour each other in insidious self gratification.

“Did you think they would let the kindred roam unchecked forever… It was foolish to reveal ourselves so openly.” It was Kathines voice that cut through the din now and she sounded bored.

“Ye of little faith. I did not do this because of some distant pipe dream, I did it because a nation that is all ours is within our grasp. Lets face it kings are bloodsuckers and our democracy has plenty of freedom attached so long as you’re willing to be food in a more literal sense for your elected officials.” Elijah, the Chancellor of the republic entered the room and moved to take his throne. “Our aspirations cannot be crushed by such a poorly built wall… These faithful murder for their god. That will turn the Jaylong-Bo population on them, as well as the other faithful kingdoms. For now we will defend our borders grow our internal power, crush the rebellions and aid the Picians in doing the same from there it should be easy to keep.”

Kathine walked over to the far wall and her fingers trailed through her hair, none of them wore masks or veils amongst each other, each was greeted with the elongated fangs and stunning animalistic beauty of their species. “Well we follow you voice of the Masquerada… For now, so my lord what do we do about your treat?”

Elijah looked to where she now was walking, that shapely form gliding so gracefully through the walls of their abode. When she settled it was alongside the chained victim on the wall. “I am told he is a talented commander, no martial skill but a fighter none the less, Razzak could use his rebirth… Perhaps as a way to put an end to their silly rebellion.” He watched as the many whimpered and begged through the gag and he smirked. “Its your call Kathine, hes your plaything, my gift to you.”

    3. [Military] Raise a unit
    4. [Faith] A foreign faith has desecrated the holy temple of the Leviathan. Many Picians are outraged and move to undo the vile profanities dealt unto our sacred icons. However, for some obscene reason, the council seems to support this vile foreign faith and denies entry to the fundamentalist mob. (Convert Region 70 Holy Center 1 to Leviathan Faith; Roll: 12)
    5. [Diplomacy] Upon receiving news of the council's treason Wadagle immediately declares them to have been corrupted by foreign influence and unfit to rule. The council attempts to rally the general populace to their side but with the fiasco at the Grand Temple the overwhelming majority of Picians align themselves with Wadagle, declaring him the new Speaker and killing any spirit-worshipping flehlings and Picians alike that they can. This uproar has severely weakened the council's position, as it would seem that falling prey to foreign missionaries is most unpopular...

    • The Abhidic faithful of Atrisia (Region 42) had previously been ignored, but it would seem that they have become insistant on garnering the attention of the Picians. Wadagle is much more interested in the prosperity of the realm than Mlagarblargle was, and clearly such a violent faith cannot be allowed to continue holding such a presence in our lands.
    • Upon Wadagle's return from the Conference it is said that he despises the dwarven people even more than before. They have the audacity to suggest that we give up all we have fought for these past decades? Clearly the conference has done little more than stop direct warfare, as the Picians and their leader continue to despise the stout thieves.
    • Hosra, a longtime powderkeg, has finally burst and rebels have risen up to fight for their freedom. However, by some strange circumstance, foreign legions of some northern realm have begun to march on the region to claim it as their own. It would seem that the universe has solved our rebel problem for us, though how big of a problem is about to rise in its place has yet to be determined...

Azenhal stands high above Palmor and those who dwell within it and upon it need only look out to see the vast majesty that stretches rolling out from the mountaintop. It is not just the towering peak that defines Mt. Azen, no what it is perhaps more well known to the dwarven occupants for are its great natural roots. Old magma tunnels stretch out from the volcanic mountain in all directions and though only a fraction have been explored it is speculated they can lead into any of the surrounding regions should one be inclined to map their way through. This gives the inhabitants of Azenhal a unique advantage, control of a hub of hidden passages and routes for scouting, spying, and ambushing. The tunnels are too narrow and too winding to make large troop deployments worthwhile but small forces properly equipped could use this system for a great number of things. The long insular Azen admit to having never considered such possibilities, having had no interest in outside happenings before Dejan, but now as Azenhal stands resolute as a beacon of light amidst a sea of darkness adapting their native darkness against those who would oppress the freedom Azenhal seeks to ensure seems oddly fitting.

    • Returning from Regno with the tattoos of an Aspect Scholar aspiring towards Speaker and the personal blessing of the Grand Magus himself Bram renounces his titles as King of the Concordance and adopts instead the title of Magus. Though he is not yet fully a Magi in the ways of Initia in his role as a leader in Azenhal and his special connection with Regno allow him the adoption of the honorable title with minimal dispute.
    • Though the structure built by the contract drawn up for the Concordance has been shaken the now united culture of Azen and tribes remain, enforced in fact by the shared horrors and solidarity. Though it is not officially declared the Concordance appears to be dead with only the united province of Azenhal left standing. Bram finds welcome among the clergy who had guided the people in the aftermath and assumes leadership but what comes next remains unclear. For now Bram seems confident and prepared to help the region and that is enough.
    • The quiet withdraw of the fishmen and necromancer forces was taken with great relief across the region. The initial military suppression following the siege of Azenhal had led some to bemoan that the region would be oppressed and brutalized by the vicious creatures they had spurned but instead shortly after securing the region from the last of the army holdouts the enemy forces began to withdraw. With so many just seeking to grab hold of something and rebuild many missed it but soon after the Siege of Azenhal the attackers had withdrawn to a series of border fortresses leaving only token forces in Bray, Azenhal, and the Valleys. A year after the siege and the presence of the dark forces grew confined entirely to the border and by the second year the invaders had withdrawn completely. Though the fishmen had not spoken to Azenhal or Whitefeather and the ghoulish lands of Khirus had feigned ignorance of necromancy at the Meeting of the Minds it seems the dark alliance had mutually decided to withdraw. With active suppression no longer under way a number of men and women take up arms in an act of defiance against those who would oppress them.
    • The Marshall of the Armies, Rishard Whidden, has taken an unusual countenance since returning from Regno. The general had always been somewhat of a night owl but some claim he has become practically nocturnal. The rumors started with his aides but soon the rumors spread to include them too. Rumors continue to question his state of mind and fitness to serve. Eventually the Marshall issues a statement, claiming to be in study and meditation on the concept and power of darkness through the power of Initia, a statement heartily endorsed by Magus Bram. Bram, a friend of Rishard after their journey to Regno, had been uncomfortable with questions regarding the Marshall’s behavior and takes his friend’s statement to be the final word on the matter. Quickly it becomes common courtesy not to bring such matters up around the Magus if one values Bram’s favor. In a bid to rid the court of such rumors the transfer of Rishard to the service of theWhitefeather Kingdom is arranged with King Keat.
    • Though Bram is recognized as Magus and ruler of the realm he is revealed to not be the only high-ranking Initiate in the region when Magi Vecto, the head of the very first Initia expedition to Azenhal is revealed to be alive and have been in hiding, fighting alongside a small group of rebels in the Valleys after the death of his patron/charge King Parus II in the fighting of the eastern escape. The middle aged Oamenii is pleasantly surprised by the recovery of the region and swears to enjoin in the efforts where he quickly finds himself a celebrated figure among Initiates and laymen alike for his ingenuitive and generous uses of his abilities. A following of young men and women, tribal and Azen alike, begin to follow the elder mystic and though initially reticent Magi Vecto begins to train them and teach them Initia. The balance between thought and action, life and death, the ever-dynamic shifting forces that rock beneath one’s feet and force adaptation and change. Teaching through a mix of good works projects, martial arts, and traditional study Vecto inadvertently builds up a cabal of true dyed in the wool Initiates who take to referring to themselves and their leaders as “The First Circle.” Vecto is recognized as the Circle’s sage and spiritual and martial leader, a responsibility the Magi does not appear to take on lightly, reaffirming his loyalty to the administration of Magus Bram Tywil.
    • Magus Bram is said to sleep less than five hours a day spending the majority of his time reading, researching, investigating, or dealing with affairs of the region. The Magus has grown especially interested in the iron mines of Azenhal itself and appears to be working on crafting such an enchantment that he might enter the volcanic mountain and withstand the temperatures as the Azen do. Only the hardiest of humans can survive the toxic air and heat of the mountain the dwarves call home and that is only the first level. None but Azen have ever ventured to the forges deep within the mountain. Bram however seems bound and determined to break that barrier.
    • Bram’s motivation to improve the region and life for the people in it inspires many throughout the land, especially those who had been moved by the speakers of Initia during the dark days of the occupation. However, now as the world turns once more and the sun rises and falls on the land without regard to their past suffering the people hunger for purpose and action in the here and now. The scholarly Initates from Regno try to capture the zeal of the people but while they continue to find open hearts and minds the mercantile minds of the Azen and the values instilled among the tribes demands a more visceral action. Some are harnessed by Magi Vecto and his First Circle but others join more materialistic pursuits. While no longer having an indirect seat on the major body politik the guild masters have a much diminished but still impressive trove of treasure which they use to entice the formation of adventuring companies and mercenaries willing to go out and seek imports for the region. The offers are sold as religious excursions intended to enlighten the unruled wildlands on the ways of Initia however even a cursory glance at the ship rosters reveals an unsettling lack of Initiates alongside a heavy presence of criminals and soldiers seemingly turned mercenary. Nevertheless the gold is there and the King approves the guilds’ adventuring so long as they do not lead to war. Bram is not Harlaus. If people start dying for a trade post it will be the trade post sacrificed, not the people. The guilds seem to accept this stipulation for now and focus their efforts in unclaimed territory.
    • Though not of the same stock as the Azen a dwarven minority dwells in the foothills of Palendor (37). Not so rich as their mountain cousins these hill dwarves are easily swayed by promises of riches and great power to come should they join with their Azen brothers and sisters and those human tribes of the region that surrounded them. The young dwarven heir of Agnet Moonhammer and Ragno Stonbrook, Rebeka Moonhammer, is promised to the young male heir of of the hill dwarf's petty royal line, Redrock. While dynastic marriages are arranged between the dwarves diplomats representing the Maltey Valleys and the Brayish refugees meet with representatives of the human tribes in the plains beyond the hills to speak of confederation. Tales of fishmen terror and vampiric curses are spread to incite fear and pressure to cooperate with Azenhal who stands against this darkness. The matter of the Sattyathanya is far less demonized, if it is mentioned at all.

However, the Kunai's actions within Izbefe's newly conquered territory are... strange. They do not simply look to convert, as they have done until now, but appear to be actively looking for something. Or someone.

[Faith - Conversion (Honmyo) - Holy Center 1 - Region 55 - Roll (12)]: The Yasei Clan has free reign in their new territory for a time, and convert aggressively.

    News and Rumors
-After the Gathering of the Minds, Emissary has two Satsujin following him at all times, much to his annoyance. His Regnan guards don't particularly seem to mind, but that's largely because they never actually see the Satsujin. Learning that there are, indeed, people so stealthy as to be undetectable turns posts with Emissary from annoying to outright disturbing.

-Emissary's guards may consider his post a punishment, but Emissary very much enjoys having so many girls come after him. In particular, he enjoys spending time with girls who are either soft, clever, redheaded, or some combination of the three. Some of them even learn a bit of his home culture, much to the annoyance of his Satsujin guards.

-While Emissary's dating and flirting continues largely unabated, he takes a very keen interest in marriage as a cultural concept in Regno (owing in no small part to Amidasu's own marriage to the Empress) as well as an emotional one. The idea of binding his name to someone else's "until death do us part" strikes him as both frightening and exciting.

-Word from the Yasei's newest conquest is that the locals are being treated to some good old-fashioned horror shows. Mumei is disturbed by this; the fact that it was so public leaves her sickened, and the old man and young woman argue vehemently. Yasei eventually goes to [Region 55] to attempt to wrangle them into line, though he meets with little success. So little, in fact, that it would almost appear someone is working against him...

-The Shushan Clan in Gwen Gwitna have recently begun spreading their ideas of Honmyo to the local populace. While the group has shown themselves to be at least somewhat trustworthy in the decade or so since their exile from Kunai lands, they are as secretive as any other Kunai clan and as such whispers abound of their dark deeds regardless.

-Shushan, it seems, has a son. He is about 3 or 4, young enough that he must have been conceived and born while the Shushan were in Glen Gwitna. The mother is unclear, but many begin to wonder at who this mystery lover could be... And it does not escape their notice that the child bears the olive skin and dark hair of the locals...

-Yasei calls for war on Izbefe for their conquest of [Region 56]. However, Mumei is sick of his constant warmongering and puts her foot down. She states outright that there will be no war unless those who follow the way of the true name are mistreated by their new overlords. She also tells him in no uncertain terms that if he goes without her say-so not only will he fail, she will actively help Izbefe repel him. The Yasei and Satsujin clans glower at each other, and the other clans look on with unease.

-Near the end of the 123rd year of the Imperial calendar, Emissary has taken a very keen interest in Comoara of Family Casnic, a redheaded Oamenii girl from the city of Bratus. Rumors abound that they have spent more time together than any of Emissary's previous potential brides, and many whisper that the "potential" will soon be fulfilled...

-Under pressured demands from his subjects, Shushan admits that the mother of his child was indeed of Gwitna. He calls her Angel, though he refuses to give her Gwitna/Clan name. This is met with disgust; the Kunai believe that the mother puts more into a child than the father, and while most clans are willing to take half-breeds in stride, the Shushan are not. They have always been very particular about their breeding, only allowing their women to keep children bred with outsiders, and even then only rarely. The fact that the father was Kunai (not the mother) only makes the matter worse. While he doesn't lose the loyalty of his clan (given that they're in a very desperate position) he does lose much of their trust, and the clan will never let the boy forget his half-breed blood.

-Amidasu dotes heavily on his little Dastastia. As the Emperor-consort, he sees to her education in both the ways of his own clan and those of Avakonia to the best of his ability. Starbreather takes an unusual interest in raising the crown princess as well, though the Emperor does not seem to object to her presence, nor does the Empress. If anything, Starbreather acts as a second mother or an aunt to little Dastastia. Some raise concerns that the Crown Princess is being educated primarily by two foreign agents, but few are very vocal.

    Amham Federation
    Region 2
    Duke Seok Gyeon

    Actions
    1. Diplomacy - Attempt to Stabilize Yemur (Region One) - Roll 7 (forgot about the Unrest penalty). Frustrated with his failure to bring stability to the Region of Yemur the new Duke recalls his relative Kin Gyeon back to Amham. He orders his aunt Jiu and her husband Paek to take over command of the region. However, this provides no immediate benefit.
    2. Diplomacy - Outreach to Yemur - Seok Gyeon personally leads a large-scale charitable mission to the region. The Duke makes a point to show himself widely and demonstrate personal caring for the welfare of the barons and the populace.
    3. Diplomacy - Express Solidarity with Regno - Following the attack at the Gathering of Minds, Seok sends an emissary to the Grand Magus to express his personal condolences and pledging a commitment to provide all possible assistance in bringing justice against the attackers.
    4. Diplomacy - Hold State Funeral - A large-scale ceremony is held for the late Baek Gyeon. Seok honors his father with the posthumous title of Grand Duke of Amham and Yemur, a first for the house. Dignitaries from foreign states in Regner are invited, though a strict ban on official business is observed. Shrines are commissioned in Amham and Yemur in the Duke's honor, with the sacrifice of his household goods providing the seed.
    5. Military - Raise One Unit - Seok brings additional troops under the Ducal banner in the face of strange Abhidic uprisings abroad and increased banditry at home.

    1. The Late Baek Gyeon's widow, Nari, goes into temporary seclusion following her husband's death. She stays confined to the residence for two years seeing only her children. She emerges in 123.
    2. News of the Sattyathanya uprising is received with great concern by Seung Kyung and other senior shamans in Amham. Though Abhidi is largely gone from Regner, memories remain. Effort is made to consult old records to gauge this new splinter group should it become necessary to enjoin with it in conflict.
    3. Juhee Gyeon comes of age in 122. The Late Duke's second child has matured into a willowy beauty and numerous suitors descend upon Samg in hopes of attracting her gaze.
    4. Following two months of convalescence in Sortis Suyi-Jalsi returns to Yemur. The young shaman has been marked by her experience at the Gathering of Minds. Though her hair grows back, her voice is thereafter rasping and strained. She spends the next several years living in isolation as a hermit on the blasted slopes of Mount Ayam. Despite the lack of food and high altitude she remains hale and hearty throughout. Strange lights are often observed near the conical summit during the new moon.
    5. Omanush of the Chill Winds Band have maintained low-level contact with the ducal house since the struggle with the draoids. An omanush shaman, or jauba, named Aro Silaw attends the funeral of Baek Gyeon and remains on land thereafter. He travels extensively through the rivers of Amham and Yemur, catching hundreds of different fish and other aquatic creatures. A talented artist, he paints these vividly. Aro speaks with many local shamans regarding the wildlife of their respective regions and builds a reputation for considerable wisdom.

1 [Diplomacy] Host Conference of the Burned Field
With all the armines rising in the South, peace with the fishmen, and a wider decision about the region is needed.

    2[Diplomacy] Push claim on 46 18!

After all that has happened, and as the Inyonihave offered a great deal, 46 intergrates fast, and its nobles become the fifth great house, Borealis.
    3[Faith] Place religious teachers in 36 11
While Whitefeather has no problem in the Abhidists themselves, they do not want them to interfere with the growth of the Kingdom. With that in mind, a few teachers are sent to 36 to ensure that the counter-arguement there is a lot better than normal. Whether this will be effective is a matter to be seen.

4[Military] With tensions everywhere high, armies are always useful. More men are levied, mostly those who are willing to move from Liao before the region becomes too enamoured.

5 [Faith] Limit heretical movements in Whitefeather terriotry.
The rambent extremists who rose are more a sympton than the root cause of the problems in the South. Nevertheless, internally, there is a general push to try and limit very hard-line cults, to prevent any more rebels breaking out.

    News and Rumours

Near the end of the period, Keat and his wife, Malia Magar of house Borealis have a child: a girl who is named Crexa Whitefeather, who has auburn hair and a fairly fair complexion. She is yet to change forms, so she is not yet lawfully considered the heir by the family, but barring some misfortune, it is likely.

Despite Lior possibly being offered independance, it is still technically part of Whitefeather. Many nobles are currently incredibly drunk, as the political situation there is going to be, at the best, 'volatile'

    Regions 20 & 21
    Ti Linnad
    Leader: Premier Lira Jinna

    Actions:

    1. [Diplomacy] Begin excavation of the Statue Gardens [1/5]
Plans have at last been finalized on the Statue Gardens, a grand undertaking designed by the Council years ago. Excavation begins posthaste, choosing a site located in the eastern wall of the Jorgi Gorge, about half a mile north of Cytolla. A vast network of caverns is slowly delved from the sheer rock, and the rubble piled at the bottom of the gorge. Some of the larger rocks are transported across Ti Linnad for transformation into the grand statues that shall soon adorn the Gardens.

    2. [Diplomacy] Begin sculpting of statues for the Statue Gardens [2/5]
Sculptors from across the Highlands and the Green Coast find themselves with lucrative contracts to depict the ancient heroes and legends of Ti Linnad, Perijanist tales, and the greatest spirits of Arfordir (believed by some to be an appeasement of the shamans). They begin the painstaking work of carving these fabled figures in their own individual styles. Known to be depicted among the known statues are several aspects of Xincoatl, including Trodje Ar-Col; Cayi Soarsinnat, the uniter of Ti Linnad and founder of the first Council; Torhillad the Twice-Betrayed and Russualli Adassa, a great Linnadi general and the most renowned Premier, respectively; Sabela Dykstra, a shaman of great renown; and Myeung, an ancient spirit of Arfordir.

    3. [Military] Invade [Region 22] (the "Kingdom" of Obroslo) with 1 unit under Premier Lira Jinna (Mil 10, 1 unit, Wingknights, Inyoni Skyfarers, +13 total)
Had the newly-crowned king accepted Linnadi rule and the end of tyranny, mercy would have been plentiful. Instead, he has resisted unity, ordered attacks against innocents, and now seizes absolute power as a reward for his shortfalls. There shall no longer be mercy for Yhan Sveniopas. The Premier leads the 1st Opal Company, hardened survivors of [Region 22], in a smaller and warier force. Assisting them are the first fruits of the Kingdom of Whitefeather's tactics exchange, skillful Inyoni Skyfarers who just may turn the tide.

    4. [Military] Invade [Region 19] with 1 unit under Councilor Sennu Moku (Mil 8, 1 unit, Wingknights, Inyoni Skyfarers, +11 total)
The underhanded deeds of the Empress have thrown the once-united lands of Perivan into utter confusion. In the chaos, government seems to have broken down entirely in the nearby [Region 19]. Sennu Moku commands the 1st Pine Company, alongside fresh Inyoni Skyfarers, to safeguard the region from the dangers of anarchy and the Empire.

    5. [Military] Raise a unit
Julliu Darianni, the brother of the late Captain Sucallo Darianni, and Gillaber Rissahmi, the captain of the former Bear Company, join what remains of their forces alongside the survivors of many fallen units. Under them, these soldiers regain purpose and drive, and the blue sashes of the 2nd Cloud Company live on in the 3rd.

    Nonactions:

    Spoiler: News and Rumors
    Show
    • The Avakonian Empire, which demands to be called a bastion of stability, has murdered the Sartek of Perivan and barely hidden their involvement. While few in Ti Linnad and none in Arfordir mourn the fall of their foe, the resulting Avakonian seizure of Perivan worries many. Though no official word is ever released from the Council, news breaks that the Premier herself has denounced the assassination. Her exact words differ from telling to retelling, but the most common version is roughly: "For the Empress, 'diplomacy' has ceased to be more than a veneer of civility, a gilded varnish to cover intimidation and threats. Whether it be due to her own innate viciousness or to the influence of her Kunai husband, there is no excuse for this action. Such tactics cannot be allowed, lest the frail trust that binds Emjata be destroyed forever."
      .
    • Soon afterwards, the Council openly criticizes the Empire's annexation of Perivan without regard for the other lands that once called the Sartek their ruler, as chaos erupts in [Region 19]. The messengers bearing this news depart from Cytolla no less than a week after Sennu Moku.
      .
    • The story-collector's first scroll is finished in the autumn of 122, containing the tales of Cayi Soarsinnat.

    News and Rumors
    • The Empire invaded and seized the free cities of the League of White Sails in the name of preserving order and halting the spread of chaos. Yet now disorder returns, and the Sartek dies under highly suspicious circumstances. Meanwhile, the Empire barely even bothers to pretend they were not involved, instead focusing their efforts on preparing a puppet to seize power. Their disregard for the unrest already plaguing Perivan exposes the lies in their honeyed words. They never desired peace and order, only to bend the world to their will. What do you mean that's what we want too? That's definitely not the case...really...
    • The attack on the Gathering of Minds is denounced in the strongest possible terms. Prince Khäsglis presents an account of the affair before a gathering of the leading nobles and priests in Khlıghat. Fëkälis then declares the perpetrators to be eternal enemies of his family and his kingdom.
    • Rumors have spread to our lands of a great effort on the part of the followers of Jalyeong-Bo to convert the fish-people of the far south. There is no small amount of confusion in D̨vatla as to what could possibly be hoped to be gained in such an ambitious move. From what little is known for certain, the fish-people do not seem overly concerned with deep thought and religious matters.
    • The Idol of Däz̨ëlis is housed in the ancient temple of Niznikli in Hüpägh, though there is extensive debate among the priesthood over whether it should be relocated. Some argue for it to be sent to the steadily expanding temple complex at Khlıghat, while others claim it would be most proper for it to be returned to Däz̨ëlis.
    • Vague stories about the so-called "Sattyathanya" arrive in D̨vatla. There is little concern among most about religious doctrine on the far side of Emjata, though many look to the Abhidic monasteries to see how they might respond. Most are quiet, though said to generally disagree with much of what they understand Sattyathanya to claim. The Hill's Shadow in Lakhko takes a more public stance, expressing dismissive disapproval.
    • With the decline in the popularity and influence of Jalyeong-Bo in the area, the keepers of the Shrine of the Sea in Ghehevs̨lam in Llët̨sällë find themselves unable to continue to manage such a large and impressive shrine. The local governor steps in, taking control of the shrine and eventually allowing the local Initia community to establish a presence in some of the outbuildings
    • The leading priests of Gë'täkid̨ are said to be conducting strange experiments. Rumors say they are investigating new methods to preserve the bodies of the dead, and ways to reverse such preservation.
    • There is widespread interest among the Abhidic monasteries about the results of the Gathering of Minds. Abhidic magic is widely regarded as the most effective at affecting the mind, and the monasteries were taken completely by surprise by the impressive mind-magic Initia was able to accomplish.

Military: Eager to secure the regions Iron trade routes from the Abhidi militia's, Atl the large road to New Lacia with the an army of 30000 thousand men. Surly this overwhelming display of force on that battle field would dissuade them from marauding further into northern Palmor. M7 general + 5 units
Military: New tech Sacrificial magic supply Lines Slot: Strategy, Resource requirement: Crops (Maize, corn, barley, millet, etc.), Effect For 1 tp (-1 size losses role, for 3 tp's +1 for opponents size loss when attacking)

Fluff: All magic requires sacrifice. When the armies of Coatl march they frequently bring their best and brightest mages along for the ride. These Magi support the army in a variety of ways, freshening water, preserving food, even healing the sick. But, where does the energy come from to do this? The fields of the foreigners whose land Coatl's troops are marching through of course. The sacrifice of civilian and military foodstuffs, is a necessary step to ensure the health of Coatlian forces. If the enemy starves, well, that's an added bonus.

Diplomacy: The Stone cities of Shona have a long history of interaction with the Theocracy Coatl resulting in many pacification today. For now the officials have decided to be more lenient, providing food and shelter to those displaced, while reward those who've given up their arms. News but also Rumors

    • The appearance of Abhidic cells throughout Palmor is highly disturbing to Tennoch. Fortunately none of the larger marauders are near the borders of Coatl and the faithful remain safe.
    • The monsoons have been especially heavy this year, floods have devastated many of the riverside properties. Fortunately the surplus of rain has produced a bounty of corn.
    • Recently a series of letters have arrived from the Isles of Lazar , the islands have recovered from their long period of chaos.
    • Tennoch has appeared in public less and less, some say the stress of preforming a miracle was too great, others believe he has fallen ill.
    • Atl the large has called for aid, any Lacian that can help against the militants shall be rewarded.

    The Gwitna Coalition
    Lord Ferreth
    Regions 23, 24, & 25
    Round 7

    Actions

    1. [Diplomacy]Sponsor moderate Abhidic priests in Aniachaket Noting with alarm the Abhidist rebels in Palmor, Lord Ferreth uses some of the reparations from the slaughter in Regno to provide moderate priests in Aniachaket with gifts of copper and slaves, as well as helping them improve their places of worship. Hopefully this will help to keep the Abhidists in Aniachaket happy with Lord Ferreth's rule while spontaneously raising the status of moderates within the religious hierarchy of the region.
    2. [Diplomacy]Marry to region 26 Although the ruler of [Region 26] clearly intends to ignore Lord Ferreth's age-old claim to rulership of the region, perhaps he may prove more receptive to an approach that will grant his family some political power within the Coalition. Ferreth proposes a future marriage between his 3-year old daughter Llerlisi Cuahuey and the man's own newborn son. Roll 11
    3. [Intrigue]Raid Unowned TP 2 of Region 40 (Khirus) for Obsidian Glass, using Cultural Identity: Proud Pilferers and Pillagers Suicide Sandor (see news and rumors) declares that on his magpie trail he will go down to the lands of the broken mirror, and promises that he will return with some of the explosive obsidian glass. A group of fans and admirers follow him on his journey south, and upon reaching Khirus the group of young and foolhardy Gwitna attempt to sweet-talk the northern orcs into trading some of their scavenging grounds for the toll collecting rights to a nonexistent canal through Glen Gwitna. Roll 19
    4. [Military]Raise a unit. As the Gwitna coalition gains dominion over foreign lands, a new system of military organization becomes necessary. The Coalition's existing armies are left in their current hordelike state, but two new military cadres are drafted, with different quotas for each of the lands under the Coalition's protection. The first of these is the Thunderbirds, drafted to excel at exploration and skirmishing.

    News and Rumors

Shushan's child is a very interesting political conundrum. His birth to a Gwitna mother means that he should be Gwitna, but Shushan's reluctance to release a name or even a house means that it will be impossible for the child to know which adulthood trial to take, and thus impossible for him to attain adulthood. Though whoever the child's mother is would have committed a crime by producing a child with someone who was not an adult, Lord Ferreth promises whomever the mother may be a pardon when she is found, so as to remove any legal barriers to her coming forward for the sake of her son's name.

Following Shushan's "transgression" with a local, some other (predominantly female) members of the clan decide to follow his example. The Kunai's lack of a cultural appreciation for pair bonds proves troublesome in this case, and results in many Gwitna women outraged at the Kunai's promiscuity. Luckily, after public opinion of the Shushan begins to drop, the cheating seems to stop.

Anci Cuahuey begins taking her son out fishing and canoeing, teaching him to read the waves and weather, knowledge that should be held by any Gwitna of house Orca.

The firstborn son of a prominent Gwitna warchief, a young Irvasu Sandor earns the moniker "Suicide Sandor” after an incident hunting near a Waterfall in central Glen Gwitna. The budding stuntman reportedly jumped down onto a large buck from his tree stand and stood on its back, kicking it in the rear while the terrified animal dashed through the rapids at the top of the waterfall. How much of this story is true is generally left to the listeners discretion, but it earns the young man some notoriety nonetheless.

The Empress may have made a great show of purging the "corrupt" elements in her government, but her assassination of the Sartek for a mere land grab is evidence that the empire's corruption goes all the way to the top. Anti-imperial sentiment grows further within the coalition, and many speakers pose the question: "Who's next?"

A similar, more obscure legend can be found in Glen Gwitna, but it refers to this monster as the Wechuge, and holds that it is composed of impossibly hard ice, as well as taking on aspects of the creature that it ate to start its transformation (since to the Gwitna eating the flesh of a magpie, orca, beaver, or bear is akin to eating the flesh of a human).

The common aspects of both legends involve insanity, a kind of brilliant but twisted intellect, and a fierce hunger for human flesh.

    ISLES OF LAZAR

    Region 28; NE Corner

    Round 7 (121 - 123)

    Diplomacy: 1
    Military: 3
    Economy: 4
    Faith: 4
    Intrigue: 4

NPBA 1 [ECONOMY] Buyout Mercenaries TP 2 Open in Isles of Lazar (28) Success

The Kiin Sareteh are eager to award the bounty promised by the Burning and to help build an economic foundation slowly seek to seize control of the Isles major mercenary companies. Outside buyers are assured that dealing with the government directly will be far more beneficial than contracting with individual companies.

The Kiin Paleseh Bor, most correctly translated to Imperial as 'Black Company', agree to join the new governmental hegemony in power, certain that wealth lies with betting on the Kiin Sareteh.

NPBA 2 [ECONOMY] Buyout Mercenaries TP 3 Open in Isles of Lazar (28) Fail

The Kiin Sareteh are eager to award the bounty promised by the Burning and to help build an economic foundation slowly seek to seize control of the Isles major mercenary companies. Outside buyers are assured that dealing with the government directly will be far more beneficial than contracting with individual companies.

While the government was able to persuade Black Company the other major mercenary outfit in the region is run by devout Jalyeong-bo worshipers. They do not outright refuse to serve the Kiin Sareteh for such would disgrace their mercenary reputation but they do ensure negotiations are fruitless and their demands just outrageous enough that they could not reasonably be met.

NPBA 3 [FAITH] Convert Isles of Lazar HC 1 to Coatl Perijanism Fail

With a stranglehold control over the Moot politically the Kiin Sareteh move to have the sacrifices at the most sacred tribal site offered to Xincoatl ahead of all other spirits and deities.

The long serving Jalyeong-bo shaman Molokai refuses to relent to the new order and its veneration of Xincoatl. The strongheaded shaman adamantly refuses again and again to surrender control of the site and his long service to the tribe makes him impossible to simply dispose of without far more issue. For now the old shaman is permitted to continue carrying out his Jalyeong-bo rights.

1 [FAITH] Declare the Isles of Lazar State Religion to be Coatl Perijanism

Though the shaman Molokai refuses to alter his sacrifices at the Moot point to reward the great serpent first and above all others the Kiin Sareteh move ahead with declarations of a unified cause behind Coatl Perjianism. While evidence of displeasure regarding the new regime's rule are present they remain subdued for now and the Kiin Sareteh agenda moves forward ever so slowly.

2 [FAITH] Convert Isles of Lazar HC 1 to Coatl Perijanism Fail

With a stranglehold control over the Moot politically the Kiin Sareteh move to have the sacrifices at the most sacred tribal site offered to Xincoatl ahead of all other spirits and deities.

    [RUMORS]
The Kiin Sareteh, devout followers of Coatl Perijianism and the organ of Elbruk’s appointment to Arndok after the last Arndok’s Burning, are now in full control of the isles. The unrest and stagnation of the previous half decade has been decisively ended in the Burning. The First Arndok had sought to harness the power of the flame by word but when it came to action he had failed. The fire had consumed him. So it was that the man who brought the flame to Arndok would be remembered as both the first wielder of and the greatest sacrifice to the flame of Xincoatl. Regardless of the First Arndok’s failures Arndok Elbruk and the Kiin Sareteh are prepared to fulfill the promises made by the flames.

    The Kadangan Wetlands, Round 7
    Region 73-74

    Actions:
    1. [Economy 10] New economy technology

    Technology: Fish glue manufacturing
The art of making glue out of fish skin, bones and bladders through boiling has been known to our people for a long time. But recently we have refined our methods of manufacturing it, allowing us to produce it in far larger quantities than before. While just an everyday commodity by itself, it's use frees up a lot of other resources that an industrious leader may use elsewhere.

    Resource used: Fish

Effect: +1 to one Economy action per round

    2. [Economy 5] Increase resource quantity in Region 74
Soon after the negotiations with Roagan's leadership are concluded, a number of Seretse begin migrating there. As they are excellent divers, the amount of pearls collected in the region sharply increases.

    3. [Military] Raise a unit
As the dissent in Wasipacha begins to spread to neighbouring regions, concerns over security once again surface. More people are given military training, and drills are made regular.

    4. [Military] Raise a unit
The Sattyathanya uprising is another matter that is viewed with anxiety. While the relations with the Abhidi minority remain good for now, it is decided that a permanent force for homeland security should be established in the new confederacy.

    5. [Faith] Great Project (1/5)
Jakla initiates a program of gathering Seretse oral history, with the objective of compiling it and writing it all down. The project is greeted with enthusiasm, and soon shamans and other lorekeepers begin to collaborate to unite their people's myths and stories into a coherent whole.

    Nonactions:
    • None

    News and rumors:
    • An agreement with the local authorities to the west has been finalized. The new confederacy will officially come into effect at the beginning of IR 124, and will henceforth be known as the Setjura Confederacy.
    • After returning from Roagan, Odenege announces his intent to resign. The leader of the new confederacy is to be chosen by election. As a compromise between the early adopters and latecomers to the council, only certain tribes can put forth candidates, while all the councilors can vote. It's not a perfect solution, but it's accepted by the majority and stifles the grievances for now.
    • With the agreement with their western neighbors and the influx of new trade goods, the last dissenting opinions against a centralized Kadanga disappear.
    • Meanwhile, Kodora celebrates his marriage with the daughter of another chief.
    • Jakla dies of disease in late IR 123, and his remains are buried in his home swamp.
    • An observer is sent to the Conference of the Burned Field with Whitefeather's permission, but they don't participate in the negotiations.

    1. [Military 10]Military Reform: Salt Wagons: The Empress reinstitutes the practice of using salt wagons: covered wagons in which food acquired from foraging is preserving via salting, pickling, or smoking, depending on nearby available materials. Salting is typically the fastest method, however, and the most commonly used in Imperial supply trains. Supporting the transport of so much salt can make supplying an army the size of Avakonia's difficult, both due to bandit attacks and the expense involved, which is why the practice was discontinued when armies were primarily used for garrison purposes. Wine wagons would often accompany these, historically, brewing and carrying drink for the soldiers, so as to avoid disease from local water supplies if possible.

    Round 8: Begin!
    Imperial Reckoning 124-126
Don’t forget to link to any rolls you make for ANY Attribute checks, plus rolls for rulers you will start using at the start of next round. If you want a new ruler in the next round, you must state so in your action post for this round and link to their rolls. Any increases from actions for this round are counted for the ruler you start your next round with (because it’s handier to account for by the co-GM), which may or may not be your current ruler.

    Good luck!

    Rules Alerts & Changes!
Single-unit armies are now more vulnerable to combat losses! In order to survive, they must take less than 35% casualties. This results in a 50% chance of loss normally, rising to 67% if Overrun.

    Growth!
Region 76 is now controlled by Wuzei Darak! The Wuzei Darak gains a unit!
Region 46 is now controlled by the Whitefeather Kingdom! The Whitefeather Kingdom gains a unit!

Shora (32)sees an attempt to stabilize and a roll of 16 by Coatl does succeed. Region becomes Stable
Razzak (39) sees an attempt to stabilize and a roll of 14 by Khirus does succeed. Region becomes Stable
Ka-Ruun (62) sees an attempt to stabilize and a roll of 16 by Firethorne does succeed. Region becomes Stable. (Anarchy affects it too though)
Region 66 sees an attempt to stabilize and a roll of 21 by the Avakonian Empire does succeed. Region becomes Stable.

    Trade!
With funding from the emerging power out of the Kadangan Wetlands the natives of [Region 74] have been able to increase their number of pearl divers by almost fifty percent the number of divers supportable prior to the Kadangan claiming. With food and security largely taken care of the region quickly begins to look for more interesting items their pearls might trade for. (Kadangan Wetlands upgrade Region 74 Pearls to [Great])

In an effort to introduce more Regnan oversight in the region and strengthen the kingdom’s cohesion efforts are made to purchase a large stake in the Camel business of Iadesh. Though tensions remain in the region over the Regnan’s firm anti-slavery stance it seems a significant minority, at least within the capital of Cataracta, are welcoming to the security and international recognition brought to the region by Regno and the Regnan purchasers quickly find their quotas filled. (RGO buys out TP 1 in Iadesh [7])

In an effort to expand local enterprises and trade routes Regnan merchants travel to nearby Dvatla intent to purchase iron produced by enterprises not currently owned by reigning kingdom of the region. Though somewhat hesitant to deal with outsiders a deal is eventually negotiated and the Regnans begin shipping trade quantities of iron back to their homeland. (RGO buys out TP 3 in Dvatla [12])

Efforts to centralize and consolidate power upon the Isles of Lazar sees small progress when the governing power of the island is able to bring another major mercenary company in the region under their sway. While efforts elsewhere lead to less success the accomplishment is nonetheless celebrated as a victory. (LZR buys out TP 2 for mercenaries in Isles of Lazar [28])

Attempting to expand and strengthen its internal trade the Avakonian Empire seeks to consolidate honey farms in [Region 17] and Mustard Seed plantations in [Region 50]. Unfortunately, the discomfort with increasing government activity has led many merchants to be wary, and their independence is maintained.

Without regard for Imperial authority or decorum the Kingdom of Izbefe sends state-sanctioned merchants to seize the vineyards of [Region 52] in the name of Izbefe. A series of well timed purchases, hard won sales, and cutthroat tactics leads to Avakonia losing access to their wine, and Izbefe gaining such. (Izbefre buys out TP 1 and 2 in Region 52)

    Faith!
In Regno the Bratus Academy is formally recognized by Grand Magus Viclean as a center of Initia knowledge and pursuits open to all those who seek the guiding principles of Initia in their life. (Regno creates an Initia Holy Order: The Bratus Academy)

The Kunai Clans’ religious adherence to naming and words, codified in their religious belief of Honmyo, spreads throughout the recentl subjugated [Region 55]. The Kunai find many willing converts among the populace that has come to represent half of the Kunai state and within a few years all traces of other faiths have been erased. (Kunai Clans convert HCs 1 and 2 in Region 55 to Honmyo)

Seeking to usurp the role of friendly foreign faith agents of Honmyo argue heatedly and with great passion against the Pantheon of Ildia in Glen Gwitna. Not only do the Ildians face theological confrontation but many of the Pantheon’s teachers begin to face a rather unfortunate series of events that seem calculated to hem spreading Ildian teachings. The Ildians are ill prepared to face the subterfuge and sabotage of the Honmyo teachers and find themselves swept out of the region by the newcomers. (Kunai Clans convert HC 2 in Glen Gwitna [23] to Honmyo)

The Theocracy of Coatl, unrelenting in its zeal to spread the word of Xincoatl, make their next grand appearance in [Region 25] where they successfully turn much of the popular consciousness towards reverence of the fire serpent, leaving only a small population of pure Perijianists to protest the forcefulness of this new religion. (The Theocracy of Coatl converts HCs 1 and 2 in Region 25 to Coatl Perijanism)

Determined not to face another unexpected uprising from non-Ildian zealots New Lacia dispatches teachers and proselytizers throughout the territory of Peledia to ensure the region is fully integrated with Lacian ideals. (New Lacia converts HCs 1 and 3 in Region 35 to Pantheon of Ildia)

Seeking to aid the Whitefeather Kingdom by granting them a religious claim to the region Ildian scholars move to push out the final vestige of non-Ildian worship from the region. (New Lacia converts HC 1 in Region 36 to Pantheon of Ildia)

    War!

The Picians, seeking a chance to prove their superiority over the fanatics that have risen up against them elsewhere, use the opportunity granted by their rebellion to strike against them and seize (region 43) at the same time. The battle is practically a slaughter...for the Picians. Though their sheer weight of numbers manages to push out the zealots, Abhidi seems to smile on them through those weeks of skirmishing and attacking. The Picians, so far from the sea and with little access to saltwater during the march, take heavy casualties, both from their foes and from disease.

The banner of Obroslo stands true! King Obrokienne, in a continuation of his feats of tactical excellence to date, once more holds off the foreign devils from Ti Linnad. Companies of veteran archers, skilled both at concealing themselves and at accurate long-distance volleys ambush Wingknight patrols and steal their steeds, enabling quick travel for Obroslo messengers. Hunters keep Inyoni mercenaries from being able to fight will full effectiveness, filling the army's pantries and keeping it's movements safe at the same time. Though the skirmishing results in few immediate casualties, it quickly becomes apparent to Premier Lira Jenna that remaining in the region is untenable, and with the support of the local populace, King Yaroslava Obrokienne once more claims victory.

In Hosra, as the rebels celebrate their victory over the Pician menace, and talk of liberating Carida as well, the empire marches. The assault comes as a surprise to the Hosran troops, who had once come to Avakonia for succor. It seems that they have finally come to give it, much too late. Jealously guarding their newly won independence, the Hosran freedom fighters are brave, but lack discipline, training, and numbers. Though they inflict some casualties, the Empress's troops crush them, like a landslide burying a pond.

In the hopes of liberating their fellows and proving the righteousness of his position, the self-appointed general of the Abhidi forces in (region 38) orders a march into (region 37), over the protests of the more moderate monastery leaders. Though reluctant, the men follow his command, and find themselves up against a much more competent foe, with an understanding of the terrain and both superior discipline and experience. Despite outnumber the enemy two to one, their numbers are reduced by half by the time the decision is made to fall back, and half again by the time they reach friendly territory again. The general elects to retire to contemplate the truths of Abhidi in a less forceful manner, at the friendly behest of his officers and those monastery heads he had overruled previously.

    Terror!
The Firethorne Regiment does not alter its tactics against the recently conquered Derokar despite now ostensibly placing the region under their protection. Thugs and enforcers sweep into the region’s Violet Oak groves, pushing out native shamans and ceremonialists concerned with protecting the region’s unique resource and forcibly seizing the strange bark for use in their new Violet Oath. (TFR raids TP 1 in Derokar [53])

While the Isles of Lazar yet stir to life under new leadership their attempts to consolidate the region’s mercenary forces under one banner is rebuffed not only by the local companies but foreign forces. Firethorne agents travel to the distant region to sign up a force of Lazarite mercenaries. Promising them abundant silver and wealth beyond their dreams backed by false claims of massive Avakonian wealth sponsoring the Regiment’s efforts is enough to sway the holdout mercenaries upon the island to throw in with the foreign Regiment. How exactly these promises of wealth will pan out when it comes time to pay remains to be seen but for now Firethorne agents express their confidence that a scheme to keep the mercenary funding ever increasing, paying out initial investors first, and always finding new investors will keep the scheme functioning. (TFR raids TP 3 in Isles of Lazar [28])

Glen Gwitna’s latest darling scoundrel, Suicide Sandor, has made quite a name for himself among the thieves and swindlers of Emjata. The Gwitnan is said to have talked an entire orc tribe into declaring him their prime liaison with the honorable Sultan of Gwitna affording Sandor with exportation rights to the Obsidian Glass of the tribe’s hunting lands. The orcs seem pleased with their deal, having been promised a great sum of money for their wise investment in the pursuits of the Gwitna Sultan and receiving a small portion of the profits being raked in by Sandor as promised payout which they receive happily. More honorable businessmen might consider the young Sandor a thief or a con for his treatment of the orcs while others admire his chutzpah. (GWT raids TP 2 in Khirus [40])

Without regard for Imperial authority or decorum the Kingdom of Izbefe sends men at arms to seize the vineyards of [Region 52] in the name of Izbefe.

The Basins (41) does not see a conventional attempt to stabilize from Khirus however the vampiric Republic does send assassins and thugs to threaten for peace using Intrigue. Currently the region is in Unrest it is unknown what effect their attempt has.

In Fresia, drastic events unfold in Pician government. In response to their council's desecration of their temples, their will has been overturned, and foreign faiths struck down, the temples torn to the ground or reconsecrated in the name of the Leviathan. The Emperor of the Sea shall not abide by his chosen people's heresy, and the Picians know this well

Realm of the Tides gains trading post 1 for Maize in Carida (region 69).

In Azenhal, the mountain rumbles. It is an ominous sign, but resurgences and diversions in the lava flows reveal a number of valuable minerals; nearly as many as were lost in the cave-ins.

While some men can never be stopped from fighting by mere words, most can be convinced to move closer to where the fighting is. With strong and sweet words from Keat, region 36 has a number of its rebels move off, enough that the region has more or less regained control of its army. This at best probably puts Whitefeather on even ground with 36, with Keat having lead a previous invasion.

2 [Diplomacy] Accept region 34. Give ceremonial guard of Inyoni Skyfarers in exchange

The Whitefeather Kingdom is jubilant to accept ownersip of this new area for its great kingdom. To commemorate it, a group of eilte skyfarers are sent to New Lacia to serve a protection for its rulers, for time immaterial.

Crexa Whitefeather has finally transformed, and to the horror of the family, has a large crest of brown feathers on her head above the beak and surrounding her eyes. While normally, this would be grounds for disinheritance, the alliance with Borealis is to be maintained unless a better heir from the line appears. Little Crexa notices little of this however, content to fly about, and be able to hide from her guards somewhat easier.

With the buzz about Dragon's eyes, demand for what is a non-existant good is rising. This is already leading to boarder disputes by many would be merchants, who are realising that finding the unknown is actually prett hard.

    Amham Federation
    Regions 1+2
    Duke Seok Gyeon

    Actions
    1. Diplomacy - Attempt to Stabilize Yemur (Region One) - Roll 15. Jiu Gyeon's new administration appeals to a previously recalcitrant group in the region - the elderly matriarchs of baronial lines. Bringing these women to her side with a combination of guarantees of land rights and brutal executions of those found to be sponsoring bandits serves as a major incentive to bring the region in line. Intermarriages, including that of Jiu's own children, between noble houses of the two regions follow leading at last to an integrated Baronial Council.
    2. Faith - F5 Special - Found Holy Order - Suyi-Jalsi descends from Mount Ayam an reveals the results of her communion with the volcano and other affiliated deep spirits. Though these entities are far too powerful to invoke directly, she is able to teach other shamans to draw up the currents of power below Amham to empower other spirits, strengthen shrines, and unleash mighty invocations. These Redwave Drummers spread throughout the region.
    3. Faith - Convert HC 1 in Region 24 to Jayleong-Bo Roll 13 - Gwitna piracy is met with alarm and regret among Amham's shamans. Large numbers heed the call of the spirits to respond on behalf of slain merchants and travel to the distant east in an attempt to obtain allies and sanctify the landscape. Shamans experienced in debating Abhidic monks and awakening their monasteries to the call of the world beyond focus their efforts in Aniachaket. They succeed in their debate and the shrines and temples are consecrated again to a wide variety of spirits.
    4. Faith - Convert HC 2 in Region 24 to Jayleong-Bo Roll 18 - Gwitna piracy is met with alarm and regret among Amham's shamans.
    5. Faith - Convert HC 2 in Region 23 to Jayleong-Bo Roll 18 - The sanctified caverns of Gwitna were once the home of sacred spirits and fostered a local shaman practice with much in common with Amhams own. It's occupation by the mysterious practice of Honmyo is considered deeply problematic and potentially a source for the instability leading to violence. Several well-known shamans from the Stonefire Ring travel here to break down runes and reforge bonds with the bones of the earth. The deep spirits hear the drumming call and ancient pacts are renewed.

    Non-Actions
    1. Attempt to Oppose Raid on Owned Trading Post 2 in Region 27 - Though many warriors from Amham volunteer to defend merchant convoys from pirate attacks they lack experience in naval combat and such efforts prove ineffective.

    Jalyeong-Bo Bonuses
    1. (5 Centers): Spiritual Solidarity - +1 to resist conversions - the faith of Jalyeong-Bo is comprised of more than mere mortals. Subtle efforts by the spirits work against those who would turn the people from their fellowship. (Active)
    2. (15 Centers): Spiritual Network - +1 to conversion attempts - the spirits do not respect lines drawn on maps by mortals, and will readily move to accommodate new pacts. (Active)
    3. (Most Centers): Sight of the Eyeless - +2 to the difficulty of secret actions in a region with a controlled religious center - to fool those who are bound to the spirits means tricking more than simply mortal observers. (Active)

    1. Seok Gyeon and his wife Hwa celebrate the birth of their first child, Chunso Gyeon, in 125.
    2. The jauba Aro Silaw continues his travels and produces a book on the animals of Western Regner with a focus on the fishes in 126. Thereafter he crosses the mountains and heads east to continue his research. His work is sponsored by several coastal barons.
    3. Jalsi Seung Kyung has grown old and his health has begun to decline. He has trouble standing at length or climbing slopes and carries a staff at all times. The shaman makes no effort to conceal this and a quiet discussion among senior shamans and spirits begins as to who shall take up the reigns of leadership when his time comes.
    4. The dowager duchess Nari Gyeon leads a small mission to [Region 3] accompanied by several shamans. Efforts are made to take the temperature of the people there and to assist in quieting any spiritual disturbances. Though they travel to the border they are careful to avoid intruding upon Firethorn Regiment territory.
    5. Captain Ebave Kunush, an omanush courier of the Chill Winds Band and one-time associate of Chae Gyeon, has gained a heroic reputation for his efforts in helping to transport shamans to and from the dangerous and distant land of Fresia. In 125 the captain retires from voyaging. He is honored in Amham as well as among his own people and given a bronze spear by the Duke himself. His vessel Fulmar continues to sail the seas of Emjata under new leadership.

[Diplomacy - Stabilize 55 - Roll (10)]: The Kunai make a token effort of keeping their new coastline stable. Yasei seems more preoccupied with the impending launch to take the west half of the western island.

    [Military - Raise 1 unit]

[Military - Invade 57 - 4 units]: Yasei's conquest - much like his previous one - begins with swift and decisive attacks on the island. Unfortunately, the old man dies in battle, and his successor (taking up his name and mantle) must lead in his stead. Mumei tags along to assist.

[Intrigue - Investigate the Bloodied Hands - Roll (14)]: A myth begins to spread. Strange and beautiful foreign women that happily ingratiate themselves to the locals of [region 56], especially their merchantmen. Charming and likable flowers that travel the land, making the most innocent of inquiries (and occasionally the not-so-innocent-but-very-welcome variety~). They laugh like angels, and their kisses are soft. They come to help those who need it, only asking to learn. And then, often in the dead of night, they will vanish without a trace. For several years, tales of these strange foreign beauties dot the land, and many a drunken taverner boasts of his "conquests" with them.

On a completely 100% unrelated note the Chojo Clan brings information on shipments of Hlaali Bark [region 56]'s to Regno, to assist in their investigation of the Bloodied Hands. The Kunai have begun to think that a large shipment (or several smaller ones that are off of the books) would indicate at least one major hiding place of the Bloodied Hands. Why they think this or how they got their hands on that information is not explained.

    [Secret - Roll (14)]

    News and Rumors
-Emissary trusts Comoara enough to start telling her details of his life before coming to Regno. While specifics are unclear to the general populace, his upbringing was apparently highly unusual for a Kunai, as was his sister's. How, precisely, is something that Comoara keeps to herself, and Emissary won't say.

However, he does say that he finds marriage... intriguing. And frightening.

But something he thinks he'd very much like. Especially with her.

-Yasei and Mumei, it seems, have come to a compromise. Izbefe currently occupies the east side of the island off of [region 55]'s coast, but the west half remains unclaimed, and they will need a staging point on the off chance Izbefe does prove to be an enemy in name. Mumei is initially hesitant, and it's unclear what exactly changes her mind, but she does eventually agree to assist him. The Amidasu clan throws their weight behind the action as well, but the Chojo clan remains neutral in these affairs.

-Shushan's child has... a very rough childhood, growing up in Glen Gwitna. He claims his mother was an Orca, but the fact that no one can confirm this just means the Orca children see a huge target painted on his back. At one point, he awakens to find a knife pinned to the wall above his bed.

According to Shushan, "that's how you know Mumei cares."

-Crown Princess Dastastia has reportedly taken up dolls. How unladylike! Playing princess is for peasants who aren't literally princesses! Surely a future warrior queen should prefer fighting to playing pretend!

    Shushan Clan (Ruler)
Appointed as regional governors (daimyo) when Dejan originally conquered the region. Posses most legitimate claim to the region, legally speaking, as well as the most detailed historical record. Experts in court intrigue and assassination. Avakonia loyalists, currently in exile from Kuniumi

    Chojo Clan (Butterfly)
All-female. More open to foreign influence than other clans. Males born to them are quickly cast out, usually to the Satsujin, Amidasu or to the original father. Specialize in genuine diplomacy and social stealth (appearing harmless and/or exercising authority they do not truly have).

    Yasei (Wild)
Makes heavy use of animals and elements found in the wild. Members often bond with one particular animal companion for life. Greatest scouts, have one of the only cavalry forces in the region. They are also heavily religious.

    Amidasu Clan (to devise)
Inventors and scientists. Have the greatest wordsmiths.

    Satsujin (Killer)
Ninjas among ninjas. Guardians of Kuniumi, primary concern is the safety and well-being of its clans. All members learn at least some wordsmithing. Experts in stealth and assassination.

The Imperial State of Varjik/The Firethorn Regiment
    Vassal of the Avakonian Empire

Sofrid Dakk, Lord Captain of the Firethorn Regiment
    Diplomacy: 1+1
    Military: 4+2
    Economy: 1
    Intrigue: 2+2
    Faith: 4

    Actions for Round 8 (Rolls)
    1. [Military] Raise a unit
The Chieftess Feather rallies her clansmen to her, taking advantage of the Regiment's preoccupation to steal weaponry and stir her people to action. Most of the clans answer her call, and for now they wish to build up before making any rash decisions.
    2. [Faith] Convert Varjik [R58, HC1] to Dejanism (Fail)
As conflict sweeps through the nation, it is only natural that the god of war gains a token of popularity among the people. The victor, it is said, is to have Dejan's blessing-- One army against three others in a fight to determine the future of the Firethorn Regiment and her territory. Sofrid openly claims to have his blessing on his side, which sways many in the capital to follow his banner. If the faith will remain over any decent length of time, however, is unknown.
    3. [Faith] Convert Ka-Ruun [R62, HC1] to Dejanism (Fail)
In a similar situation to the people of Varjik, war incites faith in Ka-Ruun. Their ex-ruler and slaver at large is not the side they want to emerge victorious, but a very real possibility. With freedom having been so close, it is so cruel to deny them now. Sofrid must emerge victorious and deliver them from their perils. He must.
    4. [Diplomacy] Call upon allies
Chieftess Feather calls out to those seeking to oppose the empire, calling upon their benevolent aid in spurring a clan-based revolution across the country. She's willing to return land to native owners (or not so native owners), grant technological benefits gleamed upon victory, and forge alliances in the event that the fellow revolutionaries might help them turn the tides.
    5. [Military 5] Create a General (Mil 7)
Mercenary Captain Four Fingers is famed among the companies, and one of many who answered the call to come to the Regiment. Offering his services to whichever group will pay the best, he intends to make a good profit off the civil war..

Spoiler: News and Rumors: The Civil War
    Show
    • The Firethorn Regiment's leader unfortunately falls ill in the days leading up to the current year, leaving many to wonder just who will lead in her stead once she has passed away. Nobody reaches a definitive conclusion before her life is concluded three days later, said to have been in great pain whilst awake and in unrest whilst asleep. Sofrid Dakk, a captain in her army, was her named successor.. But there are many among the Regiment who do not believe that the leader of the council should be the only one who has the rights to that choice. Talks are spurred of the initial intent to form the Firethorn Regiment into an independent kingdom, some with to simply return to being a group of Avakonian states, and the once voiceless governments that were trampled by the unified Firethorn legionaries may see this as an opportunity not only to come back, but to seize power across all Firethorn controlled land.
    • Most notable among the contestants to reform the regiment are Sofrid Dakk, Chieftess 'Feather' of the Inkia Clan, High Lord Zoshar of Ka-Ruun, and Councillor Jerak of Varjik.
    • Amerah Kren was known to have been going to Regno from time to time to discuss how to best keep peace between them. Though she never brokered any official agreements with them, her will was to first fight the enemies of freedom, and then see if magic was worth bringing down the sword upon. It is possible that the next electorate could disrupt these talks, or destroy them altogether.
    • Sofrid Dakk is in favour of keeping the Firethorn Regiment how it is for the most part, with a governing war council that fights enemies of it's choice and coming to the emprie's aid when called upon. The idea of reforming into a kingdom 'invites corruption' in his own words, and he is known to be an open worshiper of Dejan; which makes many worry for the quality of his judgement in a group of territories that were all known to have been conquered by him at some point.
    • Chieftess Feather of the Inkia Clan was the first victim of conquest when the Firethorn Regiment started to spread their wings, having been one of the many soldiers in the Derokar counterattack against the empire in response to the outrageous claim on their lands by Amerah Kren. With her people's sacred violet oak now stolen from them and their previous chief slain on account of her denial of the resource, she wishes to muster what solders she does have, call on any who might aid her, and strike back against the Firethorn council with several goals in mind. Firstly to declare independence from Avakonia; but also to drag all those territories that they once governed into a new system of rulership.. One that places her and her clan in charge. Known for her ability to come to agreements and her tribal heritage, there are not many within the regiment territory who wish to see her crowned. Outside though may be a different story..
    • High Lord Zoshar of Ka-Ruun was one of the richest men in the region, owning more slaves and lands than he could be bothered to count and ruling them with brutal force. His military stood back as his rivaling slave traders were picked off one by one, waiting for an opportunity to decisively defeat the regiment. With their leadership in disarray, he found it. The soldiers of Ka-Ruun rout those that garrisoned the city, claiming it for themselves and swiftly starting to undo any traces of their 'progress.' Knowing that they will come back unless vanquished, he does not seem willing to stop there. No; his army will be marching right into Varjik soon enough.
    • Councillor Jerak is first and foremost a loyalist to the empire. Placed on the military council to ensure the loyalty of the rebellious people of Varjik, he has proven himself a good strategist and useful asset among leaders. Unlike the other contestants, he does not wish to rule the regiment himself. Rather, he wishes to return the territories to the greater empire of Avakonia as a bigger part of their lands. The first thing on his mind is to get the empress on his side in this endeavor, securing nearly half the army after the defeat in Ka-Ruun to support his choice..

    The Gwitna Coalition
    Lord Ferreth
    Regions 23, 24, & 25
    Round 7

    Actions

    1. [Military 5] Appoint General. Lord Ferreth appoints warchief Ultol Vianlis to High Warchief, head of the Coalition's military forces. Unfortunately for him, he becomes ill and dies after serving not two months in office. His son, Suicide Sandor, returning to Glen Gwitna and receiving a heroes' welcome for his deals with the Kirese orcs, is also informed that he is now also the Leader of the Gwitna's military operations. Knowing Sandor's risk-taking tendencies, Lord Ferreth complains privately about the frustrations of a system of inherited power rather than meritocracy.

The position of High Warchief only seems to have increased Suicide Sandor's confidence, and he has taken to wearing a wooden visor with two lenses of obsidian glass inlaid into the wood, hanging down to cover his eyes. Roll 6
    2. [Diplomacy] Press Claim to Region 26 Noting that Suicide Sandor has a strange and persuasive sort of charisma, Lord Ferreth sends the new Warchief to region 26. The people of region 26 have refused offers of marriage and ignored Lord Ferreth's ancestral claim to the region, but Lord Ferreth hopes that they will be unable to refute the advances of the debonoir stuntman. Plus, sending him to region 26 will get him out of Ferreth's hair, which is always a plus. Roll 16.
    3. [Intrigue]Raid Amham's TP 2 of Region 27 for Silver. Prior to the year 124, foreign merchants in the Badan had found the Coatline friendly to trade. The locals, long starved for the attentions of foreign merchants, were happy to part with their goods to paying customers, and the troublesome waters of the Badan were scarcely a match for the zeal and drive of merchants in the area. In the fall of 124 however, the increased traffic of merchants in the Badan attracts unwanted attention... attention from pirates. Gwitna raiding canoes set from the eastern coastline into the northwest Badan en masse in search of merchant vessels to loot. Silver shipments from Amham are among the first to invite the gaze of the raiding parties. Roll 15
    4. [Intrigue]Raid Wuzei Darak's TP 1 of Region 26 for Granite The Daraki granite traders are far from their home waters and in territory traditionally plied by Gwitna canoes. Their ships weighed down by their cargo of stone, they cannot hope to escape the Gwitna pirates on the sea. Roll 26
    5. [Faith]Change official religion to Jalyeong-bo Although the converts of the Amham preachers don't constitute a majority of the population anywhere outside of Aniachaket, they make up for this in their Zeal. Perhaps inspired by the Sattyathanyan revolts in the south, perhaps incited to anger by the fury of the Amham missionaries at Gwitna piracy, the new followers of Jalyeong bo are strong and angry enough to make a Coatl-based government dangerous for Lord Ferreth to maintain. Towards the end of the year 126, Suicide Sandor returns from [region 26] claiming a born-again conversion to Jalyeong-bo helped him survive his stunts. A combination of this, his already huge popularity, and his position as High Warchief sees him take over Tloon Redlan completely, backed by the fresh zealots of Jalyeong-bo. Although the rest of Lord Ferreth's family had already escaped to the Theocracy of Coatl fearing a coup, Ferreth himself is captured and imprisoned in Tloon Redlan. Sandor declares the Coalition's official religion to be Jalyeong-bo, and the new converts begin clamoring for him to lead a purge of the many Coatl Perijanists in the Gwitna Coalition and a renewal of the Jalyeong-bo traditions of the Gwitna's past.

    News and Rumors
In region 26, Suicide Sandor puts a rudder paddle on a canoe and rides it down the snowy slopes of a mountain to raise his popularity with the tough-talking locals. About halfway to the lake that he was planning to slide into, a large black bear wandered its way into his path. With a volley of War-Whoops, Sandor manages to cause the bear to flee, and chases it down the mountain in his speeding canoe. The sight of the Gwitna stuntman chasing a bear through the rocks and trees of the mountain aboard a speeding canoe will surely leave a lasting impression on the villagers that made the trek to witness the spectacle.

The success of swindlers from the Firethorne regiment in the Isles of Lazar is a surprise to many within the Coalition. Falling for such schemes may be expected of lesser peoples like the Orcs in Khirus, but the Lazarites being taken in by such cheap economic tactics is surprising.

    Khirus
    The dark mirror

    Region 39, 40, 41

    Actions

1:[DIPLOMACY] The diplomats from Regno will be arriving in Khirus and have an embassy built (one of the homes in the most expensive districts of Bandara the capital of Khirus) who ever lived there before disappearing and everything is adapted to provide absolute splendor for the Regnans.
2:[MILITARY] Marshall Rishard Whidden leads an elite squad of (2 units) of ghouls to massacre the forces streaming into region 41 they would reveal the horror of attacking Khirus. (mil 9 general + Military specialization defense against attacks of conquered regions +1 unit) Gorilla warfare assaults designed to horrify and frighten the abhidists back to their hole.
3:[MILITARY] NEW TECHNOLOGY: Obsidian Fire: +1 when defending +2 when assaulting fortifications

Obsidian glass is the ruined remains of a land desecrated by a force so powerful we today cannot imagine the power needed to produce it. The kindred have harnessed a fragment of this power if only in a VERY vulgar form. Carefully grinding up the obsidian glass and placing it into leather bags they have found out setting the bags to fire and throwing them cause powerful explosions setting fires and causing loud and terrifying explosions.
4:[MILITARY] The Chancellor marches with four units to assault region 38 and put an end to the most organized zealots
5:[DIPLOMACY] Khirus pounces on the attack by the supposed "allies" of Azenhal and use this in an attempt to poison the relationship between Azenhal and region 37. He approaches the royalty of (REGION 37) and suggests marriage between one of their representatives. (The beauty of Kathine a thing of myth once long ago) and their own offering the protection of Khirus against the HORROR of the Sattanyaha and the treachary of Azenhal. While there the ideas of democracy, equality and the rights of the ignorant populace to gain access to hospitals and education. (rolled 16 http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showt...7#post22796967)

    Government Structure of the Republic
Chancellor (Voice of the Republic wears a full mask or veil of Silver)
Consul (representatives from the various powerful families in Khirus wears full masks and veils of gold)
Senate (Elected by the citizens anyone can run for office in the senate they wear masks and veils of black)
Diplomats (Wear blue masks) civil servents (grey masks) soldiers (red masks)
The average citizen does not have to wear masks but they have become popular fashion statements and now most citizens wear them as fashion statements HOWEVER wearing masks of any color of the government is a crime (punishable with a fine and prison time if its gold or silver) they can however have a mix of colors which include any of the above colors in part.

    News and Rumours
    • Though things have not become completely dire those religious minorities within the republic grow more nervous as violent zealots have assaulted the villages of the basins led once again by the stunted ones.
    • The arrival of the diplomats from Regno are viewed with great fan fair in fact they are used as a tool by the republic touted as positive diplomatic negotiations and proof of the growing legitimacy of the republic in a world of kings and despots.
    • Elections end with more military hawks brought into the Consul and senate the belief that expansion keeps the Republic safe is promoted among the populace and several representatives promoting peace and an end to violence have been thrust out of the political sphere in droves.
    • Khirese obsidian glass has been stolen by some vagabond. Raids against the wealth of the nation is viewed as the highest of crimes and an order of execution has been put out on one Suicide Sandor
    • Work by the blood mages of the fang have found uses for the obsidian glass as more then simple fuel but also has the ability to cause explosive destruction to simple structures as well as maim flesh.
    • The value of the republic is spread swiftly through the regions east of Khirus while the zealot monsters threaten much of "free" and righteous no one stands alone so long as Khirus stands.
    • A loving hand is being reached out to (region 37) the crimes of Azenhal once again damn them and Khirus offers their special kind of freedom

    Spoiler: The Arrival of Regno!
    Show
The splendor of Khirus is obvious in the capital city of Bandara. Here all glitters with color. The original structures were built on the island of Lon in the river of life a river which split the fertile lands of Khirus from the hellish landscape that existed on the other side. The land desecrated with obsidian glass.

Bandara itself has long since expanded past the singular island village which was a few homes and a simple palisade structure protecting them from the orcs who existed on the other side of the river in the obsidian wastes. It has overtime consumed much of the river and has damned much of life forcing it to flow around the capital city forming a natural moat and means to protect the city. When one gets past the large walls of stone and wood armed with the means to protect Khirus from most invaders they find a city designed to delight the senses. Streamers of various colors connect long tall homes, no structure seems to be smaller than 2 stories and the homes seem to loom even larger as they are built on thick stilts in fear of damage from water. Stone adds even more protection keeping everything high as if the city looms over their guests and plenty of people move above traveling the rooftops and makeshift bridges as on the main street of cobbled stone. Despite the welcoming appearance at first there is several strange differences here over other places. There is very few “open” structures, the flow of air and light to cool the citizens within which most structures contain is nonexistent here. In fact while the homes are decorated with a stunning array of colors meshed with whites and deep browns almost all the windows are covered and outside of the most lavish shops everyone conceals their windows and doors with black. Plenty of people move on the street, smiling and friendly to those they recognize but immediately skittish and even aggressive should they be approached by strangers.

Despite the looming appearance of the city as a whole four structures consume the skyline far higher than any other structures in the city. The first is the fang of Khirus a tower of painted red stone and a single black door, the structure stands alone 250 feet departed from all other buildings in a place which seems to be congested with life from every other angle. Around it in another perfect circle grows rosebushes thick with thorns. It is silent and no one is ever seen coming in or out. The second structure is the estate of the faceless A stunning palatial estate which belongs to the Chancellor. The third is the Senate another large building built as if to fall into the river but eternally standing strong toward the city, constantly bustling with the representatives of Khirus. The final building is the Consul building it is exactly opposite the senate building standing similar to it but with a more gothic appearance looming over the homes below.

When the Regnan did arrive it was to a wild fan fare they were greeted by two hundred republican guard. As well as Representative Mila a stunning woman in all black with a veil blocking her face. Next to her stood diplomat Sharon a beautiful male, lean and muscular it was clear he was a physical specimen of ecstatic beauty with long blonde near white hair tied back behind his head. His skin was almost porcelain white but it was actually showing (unlike with Mila) it was obvious he was a diplomat because his mask was blue. Finally a third individual in a gold mask, an older individual bent slightly and leaning on a walking stick but still tall with a large smile offered his hand.

    D̨vatla

    Khäsglis
    (Round 8: 124-126 IR)

    Actions
    1. [Diplomacy] Fail to stabilize 12 (roll=11) For years there have been whispers and rumors in D̨vatla. Some of the less foresighted among the priesthood grumble about the kings' dealings with the Abhidics, and the Lords of Këpääs plot and scheme in the dark, too cowardly to openly oppose the king. Fëkälis never dedicated himself to taking strong action against the malcontents, always too focused on his conquests and expansion. Khäsglis now turns his attention towards strengthening his kingdom, and appoints his uncle Zäklis as Satrap of the Eastern Highlands, sending him back to bring Këpääs back into order.
    2. [Diplomacy] Establish claim on 13 through marriage (roll=12) Fëkälis tried, repeatedly, to arrange a marriage between his son and a daughter of one of the powerful families of Reflas. Those attempts all failed, and now the new king turns his attention eastward, sending emissaries to [Region 13] to investigate the possibility of a useful political marriage.
    3. [Military] M5: General (roll=6) Khäsglis appoints his cousin N̨amodl, one of his most skilled camel riders, as captain of his elite camel cavalry.
    4. [Military] Invade the League of White Sails (1 unit) Enough is enough. The empire seized the free cities of the League of White Sails in the name of ending the chaos engulfing the region and preserving order. They have failed to do so. The newly crowned Khäsglis crosses the river with his elite camel cavalry and a small band of royal guard spearmen. He rides to each of the major cities, calling upon the people to cast off the corrupt and ineffective imperial rule and embrace the protection of D̨vatla.
    5. [Military] Recruit

    Non-Actions

    News and Rumors
    • Messengers are sent to the empire. They are instructed to remind the Empress that she seized the coastline and cities of the League in order to prevent the possible spread of disorder into her lands, and to explain that Khäsglis's actions are merely intended to support her in this effort since his own kingdom now lies under the same threat.
    • Zäklis's attempts to restore order in the east are unsuccessful, and largely backfire. Faced with attempts to re-enforce centralized control over the region, the Lords of Këpääs are forced to take more active measures. With tensions rising, there is a notable increase in unexplained deaths in the city, and the larger region, and a number of the more vocal supporters of both sides are found dead.
    • In Hüpägh a vigorous debate breaks out between the priesthoods of Gë'täkid̨ and Nıznıklı. The former, pleased to have one of their own as king, wholeheartedly embrace his support for Abhidi, while the latter denounce any heathen influence over the royal family. The High Priest, another cousin of the king, eventually announces that Abhidi is acceptable among the commoners and should be tolerated, but its influence should be limited or eliminated among the nobility and royalty.
    • Word arrives from the east of increasing activity by Gwitna pirates. Though they are too far away to be any real threat, Khäsglis gives some thought to strengthening his own navy. The Islanders begin a large expansion of their own fleets, hoping to maintain the naval dominance they have enjoyed due to the weakening of the coastal cities during the D̨vatlan invasion. Merchants throughout the region are suddenly very interested in securing control of new sources of high quality timber.
    • A great number of shamans from Amham are noted to be travelling eastward, and rumors return westward of the conversion of the Gwitna pirates to Jalyeong-Bo. Any shamans visiting or moving through D̨vatla find their welcome becoming progressively chillier as time goes by, as the nobility become concerned with the prospect of a foreign power attempting to prop up foreign religious ways.
    • The ruling family of Lakhko in the far northwest and the leading monks of the Hill's Shadow monastery call for a gathering of leading Abhidic theologians in D̨vatla and its neighbors.
    • Diplomats are sent south to make contact with Chieftess Feather and test the waters in Derokar.
    • A younger son of a minor noble in Ghehevs̨lam who has embraced Initia and become highly regarded in the city as a philosopher begins giving lectures on various topics in the Shrine of the Sea.

Allow Sattyathanya units to pass through Azenhal

    News & Rumors
    Spoiler
    Show
    • The Conference of the Burned Field is viewed as a mixed bag politically. A general loose ceasefire was declared between the various sides but just how binding or how long it would last remains to be seen. The Sattyathanya of Sasania (38) seem to be the hinge point on which the matter will turn. Magus Bram has declared the Abhidists allies of Azenhal, an Army of God and Light sent to aid Azenhal in holding back the dark tides of the blackhearted Republic of Khirus and vicious oppression of the Picians. The disastrous attack on Palendor (37) is treated as a betrayal of trust and an attack on Azenhal given the mountain kingdom’s recent acquisition of a claim to the region. The Sattyathanya are warned that Azenhal does not seek to endorse a mob more obsessed with violence against the masses than true enlightenment and the banishment of the monsters that freely walk Palmor. The Sattyathanya seem to take some level of offense at this declaration and efforts in Sasania (38) to integrate the region putter out quickly. It is unknown but highly speculated as to what would happen if the Republic of Khirus were to attempt an invasion of the region with some suggesting the frustrated Magus might not risk Azenhal lives to defend the foolish Sattyathanya while others insist the Magus would not risk breaking his word.
    • Bram’s study and meditation on pressing the boundaries of human capability and entering the hall of forges as the Azen do has slowed with the developments coming from the Conference of the Burned Fields. The Magus still manages to develop a resistance to the heat heretofore unheard of in a human, surviving comfortably for up to a week within Azen itself, but approaching the forges still remains out of reach and with the political and partnership demands it seems his time to focus on developing a connection with the fiery mountain’s molten heart may be left incomplete.
    • Pressure on importing Bani by Initiates while Azenhal lacks an official importer for the magic dust has left a great deficit of the holy substance and many Aspect Scholars must go months, some even years, without getting the tattoos for which they qualify. With the Abhidic faith in an upswing some more politically and pragmatically minded Magi worry the shortage of Bani will lead to a susceptibility of Initiates to outside conversion. Valuable minds could find purpose in the Abhidist texts espousing the words of God Almighty without the need to inscribe a tattoo upon their head in an absurdly expensive ink as they would to become Initiates. For now it seems Initia is holding the sway it has maintained but Abhidist sentiment seems to be rising.
    • Marshall Rishard Whidden is accused of black magic and banished from Azenhal. Stories claim the general has found a new home among the Republic of Khirus, serving as the Black Marshall of the Chancellor’s Armies.
    • The Sattyathanya have been negotiated with and come to an agreement with Azenhal. The Abhidi zealots will retain their autonomy and nominal independence but will confederate with the political power of Azenhal to form a coalition force. Efforts to integrate this alliance-***-unification by Azenhal begins immediately. Abhidi receives full sponsorship by the state apparatus of Azenhal. Contracts and treaties are drawn between local powers in the regions claimed by the Sattyathanya and the powers of Azenhal begin to work out matters of governance and administration. Initial proposals call for a dual monarchist setup between Azenhal and the lands held by the Abhidists to be unified under a Caliph who might act as a religious and cultural head. Yatabuyai Yadaoyai is a leading contender to take on this role.
    • Magus Bram still focuses on the elemental aspects of Initia study and ‘worship’ but he has adopted some Abhidi practices. Declaring a belief and faith in the One True God Bram has maintained a degree of what might be termed cynicism or caution, around committing fully to the Abhidic practice in full. The hardline Sattyathanya sect would no doubt prefer to be working with a fully Abhidic ruler but dangerous times makes for strange bedfellows and the unique faith of Initia allowed for a mostly Abhidic ruler cooperating with the staunchly Abhidic Yatabuyai Yadaoyai.
    • Magi Vecto while losing the position he had hoped to acquire in the face of emerging developments in Palmor has maintained prominence among Magus Bram’s court. The Oamenii spiritual leader is given charge to raise and maintain a standing fighting force of Initiates loyal to the Magus and his cause. Drawing from his followers from the First Circle Vecto quickly assembles a contingent of sappers, trappers, and infiltrators capable of supporting a larger more traditional force as effectively as another combat legion.
    • The devastation inflicted upon the Army of God in Sassania (38) by their own ill preparedness in assaulting Palendor (37) has left them weak and susceptible to attack. The Khirese waste no time massing the bulk of their army and moving into the region to seize it from the Sattyathanya. Whitefeather is able to negotiate with the Lacian sect of zealots and their clever general sending the northern Sattyathanya's to reinforce their brothers in faith. The fate of Sassania (38) rests in the hands of God now.
    • With a great mass of Sattyathanya militants in Artisia Bram appeals to the neighboring zealots to join in pushing back the dark shadow of Khirus from the lands of the Ironwood in the Basins. Though not an Abhidic state it seems Bram's willingness to stand shoulder to shoulder with Yatabuyai Yadaoyai as a partner at the Conference of the Burned Field has earned the Magus some respect among the Abhidic extremists. The militants answer his call, vacating the region and thus leaving it open to the returning armies of Picians but joining in glorious battle against the vampires and ghouls of the dark southern republic. It is said the Black Marshall Rishard Whidden rides at the head of the Khirese army to meet his former master upon the field of battle.
    • Though the iron mines and forges dedicated to domestic production were purportedly sold to the Picians at the Conference of the Burned Field the fishmen's inability to enforce their own terms due to the constant state of uprising and rebellion in their poorly stitched together dominion has meant these mines and forges continue to produce for Azenhal. The lessons learned from the Pician occupation and the weapons adopted from the fishmen hordes including the trident, longspear, and long knife are adopted and now forged from the hard iron of Azenhal. The legion under Bram marching to meet with the Black Marshall carries these weapons and pray they will help turn the tide of battle to Azenhal's favor.

    The Kadangan Wetlands
    Setjura Confederacy, Round 8
    Region 73-74

    Actions:
    1. [Economy] Buyout TP #2 in Region 75
An effort is made to reach out to the Wuzei Darak, hoping to establish trade relations. The strange squid that grow in their waters have attracted a lot of interest, and some are enthusiastically waiting for the chance to find practical applications for them. Roll: 11 (Possibly increases to 13)

    2. [Military] Attack Wasipacha [Region 60] with 4 units
The whole council, whether they support Kodora or not, are shocked when the first thing he proposes as the leader of the council is an attack on Wasipacha. Many are against the idea, saying that what's happening there is not their concern. Kodora is however unrelenting, explaining that the civil war there has raged for a decade already, with no signs of it stopping anytime soon. What's more, the disorder has started to spread to their neighbors as well. As the Confederacy is the power in the best position to bring peace to the region, it is their duty to do so. While not everyone is convinced by this reasoning, they are aware of the threat the situation in Wasipacha poses to their trade, and eventually the majority of the council agrees to the attack.

It is planned that the Setjuran army will sail from Kadanga to the Wasipachan coast on Roagan war canoes. After disembarking, their goal is to quickly suppress the infighting of the region and occupy the major population centers. Kodora decides to personally lead the attack, despite the risk to his personal security.

[Attack from Region 73 by sea to Region 60. 4 units, Mil 6 leader. Total: 2d10+10]

    3. [Military] Raise a unit
While the official reason given for the raising of yet another unit is the protection of trade, for many it's clear that it's done in anticipation to replace the casualties that will be incurred in the attack on Wasipacha.

    4. [Faith] Great Project (2/5)
The work on collecting Seretse oral history is continued. The creation myth and several heroic epics are written down for the first time.

    5. [Faith] Great Project (3/5)
A peculiar thing is noticed while collecting the histories. In a few traditions a Great Spirit of goblins named Gankjit is mentioned. This information is greeted by enthusiasm by the more scholarly inclined goblins.

    Nonactions:
    • Support Wuzei Darak buyout in Region 73

    News and rumors:
    • In a baffling turn of events, both Odenege's vehement opponents and steadfast supporters vote for Kodora as the new leader of the coucil. As no other candidate can match this support base, he is the named the first official leader of the newborn Confederacy.
    • Odenege retires to Njinkat and states that he wishes to distance himself from politics. Considering his past activity many find it hard to believe that he will stay put for very long.
    • About a year after winning the election Kodora becomes the proud father of triplets.
    • The conflict brewing within the Firethorn Regiment is followed with keen interest, and the Roagans especially seem eager to support Chieftess Feather, or to a lesser extent High Lord Zoshar. The council is unwilling to send direct aid to any party of the conflict, as they have their hands full with the Wasipachan situation and do not wish to draw the ire of the Empire. Privately, however, many councilors discuss the possibilities the situation could bring, Kodora included.

Cultural identity: Unmoving Waters -Die size increase when resisting conversion, not permanent

(Active)
