Your wish is not granted, as both are currently lying pretty much unconscious in their shared cabin. And if the empty bottles are any indication, they both won't be up before midday.

Sandra is as usual in the evenings up in the crow's nest. When you visit her, her face lights up:
"Good to see you survived that little escapade without lasting harm."
When you state your troubles, her face clouds over:
"I am surprised they act this early. If I had to guess it's because of Fips. You humiliated him with your spell. I bet he asked Scourge and Plugg to do this - not the other way round. Also, Scourge and Plugg are cowards at heart - they won't be anywhere near you when the ambush comes. To easy for something to go wrong and then they'd have to face the captain."

"That's a shame. You see, I was planning to ambush the ambushers. I wanted Grok and Fishguts to take a few people and hide down there ahead of time, but they're both passed out drunk in their cabin. I was hoping you could give them the message, or even take their place if their too hungover. You just have to get people into position right after morning roll call, or even before if you could manage."

In your place I'd hide some useful items down there beforehand, so you can defend yourself. But at the very least I'll go down and check on you. They can't kill you when there are witnesses."

    Sandra seems genuinely worried

The next morning comes all too soon - as do your enemies. Mr. Plugg rudely awakens you with the words:
"Hey, cook boy, since you are such a bilge expert now, you were selected for pumping out the bilges today."
With a shock you notice, that he already is patting you down for your weapons.
"And no slacking - I want the bilge empty at midday."
You notice that Rosie has noticed the commotion around your hammock and has gripped her hand axe. She gives you a questioning look.

"Aye aye, (not the) captain! Let me just tell Fishguts so he doesn't go looking for me." Says Ryotsu with an innocent smile. If Mr. Plugg heads off right away, he'll take a minute to talk to Rosie before heading to the galley.

Mr. Plugg doesn't let you out of his sight, making your you don't equip a weapon.

The now familiar steps down into the bilge are particularly slick today. The single swinging lamp provides shadowy illumination - luckily this is no problem for your darkness adapted eyes, unlike those of normal humans...

Steps behind you make you look up. As expected it is Fipps and Aretta that have been send down here with you. And it doesn't take you long to figure out that they have daggers hidden up in their pockets.

The pumps have a double handle where two people face each other pumping, while the third has to make sure you don't suck in anything that shouldn't be sucked in.
As if it was the natural order of things, Aretta takes the hose and brings it in position while Fipps takes one of the handles. It seems they want to get some work done first with you to help before they star their treachery...

"So how are you two this fine morning?" Ryotsu says with an air of sarcasm. He'll play along, for now, but he keeps a close eye on the both of them. He has the words for his vanish spell on his lips, ready to cast it at a moment's notice.

It is hard work to man the pumps and both you and Fipps are working up quite a bit of sweat.
Yet, the bilge is nearly empty now. As expected, Fipps begins his clumsy spiel:
"Hey, you are slacking off. Pull your handle all the way down.
There, you are doing it again.
You might have fallen for the distraction if you hadn't been ready for it for the last hour:
As Fipps steps forward, drawing his dagger, Aretta mirrors his movement to flank you.
What they aren't prepared for is you vanishing from sight as you utter one melodious word.

In frustration, Aretta swipes at the thin air where you just vanished with her dagger.

    Miss chance 50% (1d2)[1]

    After that, ini.

Invisible, Ryotsu makes a b line to the barrels where he stashed his weapons the previous day. Assuming no one had messed with them he draws the blades and reappears in a flash of light, revealing his kitsune form for the first time aboard the ship. He bears his weapons weapons with an evil, toothy grin, ready for the fight.

Warning: You have low light vision - not darkvision
Snuffing out all light will leave you at the same penalty as your two attackers:

"In areas of darkness, creatures without darkvision are effectively blinded. In addition to the obvious effects, a blinded creature has a 50% miss chance in combat (all opponents have total concealment), loses any Dexterity bonus to AC, takes a –2 penalty to AC, and takes a –4 penalty on Perception checks that rely on sight and most Strength– and Dexterity-based skill checks. Areas of darkness include an unlit dungeon chamber, most caverns, and outside on a cloudy, moonless night."

In dim light your low light vision gives you an edge as you aren't hampered

Your riposte misses and Aretta will try to cut you:

    (1d20)[2]+2 (1d4)[3]+1 damage
    Miss Chance 1d10 (1d10)[5]
Depending on if you do kill the lights or not it's either 20% or 50% miss chance

The former whore is furious and tries to stab you in the ensuing darkness.

Fipps narrowly parries your attack but your bite catches him unprepared and you take a good sized chunk out of his arm. His blood tastes hot and sweet at the same time.
The pain seems to register, as the man is suddenly pulling back towards the stairs and instead throws the dagger after you.

    Spoiler

    Miss chance: (1d10)[10]

But the dagger goes wide and lands somewhere in the sodden darkness of the bilge. This gives you the opportunity to focus on Aretta.

An idea registers in Ryotsu's mind in the heat of the moment. Their deaths would be hard to pin on him if they only suffered bite wounds, though Mr. Plugg would probably blame him for not clearing out all the rats. Still, the end result will be much better.

It's annoying that Fipps got away, and Ryotsu curses his luck. It seems like whenever it counts he can't connect to save his life. Still, he can at least secure Aretta's fate down here. He steps between her and the ladder Fipps used to escape and attacks again.
