Re: Demons vs. Devils (Devil IC)
Basa
You guys distract it! I'll finish it off! (Aiming for the one that attacked me)
Spoiler: Actions
Move: 3 Marks
Move: 3 Marks to a total of 6
Swift: Attack
Attack: I make a roll at a +57 (+50 base, +6 marks, +1 for standing still, +1 Point-blank)
(1d20+57)[66]
I also crit on a 13 or higher, dealing an additional x2 damage. The attack also cannot be hindered by magical effects, such as prot. from arrows or wind wall. The attack doesn't provoke attack of opportunities, if I am within reach.
Damage: (1d10)[6] (base dmg) + (6d6)[17] (precision damage, which this creature cannot be immune to) + 58 (27 base, 1 from standing still, 1 from point-blank, x2 for not making an area attack. This damage is force damage and automatically pierces all kinds of DR.
81 Total Damage
Monster must make 2 Saves.
1&2. The monster must make a Reflex save and a Fortitude save, both DC 44 or suffer instant death (not a death effect). If either one succeeds, then this has no effect.

Re: Demons vs. Devils (Devil IC)
HP 427/427, AC 81
20% miss chance (minor cloak of displacement)
50% miss chance against ranged attacks (ring of entropic deflection)
Ivara continues her assault on the sirrush she (and Sabrina?) previously attacked, darting around it and hammering it with a salvo of arrows.
Spoiler: OOCMove Ivara tumbles at full speed, moving herself around and adjacent to the sirrush. Activates ring of entropic deflection (50% miss chance vs ranged attacks). Activates Greater Skirmish. She gains +10d6 damage on her attacks this turn and a +8 competence bonus to AC until the start of her next turn (current AC with bonus: 81)
Tumble check (1d20+65)[79]
She does not provoke AoOs when firing in melee and gains her Dexterity modifier to attack and damage while adjacent to her target.
Swift Activate Threatening Gaze marksman technique, marking all sirrushes until the start of her next turn. If it performs any action that provokes an AoO, it provokes one from Ivara, even at distance. Due to her Supernatural Instincts feat, the wolf also provokes an AoO if it uses any supernatural ability. If it tries to cast a spell or spell-like ability defensively, it also provokes due to her Spellcasting Harrier epic feat (and Ivara gets +4 on the AoO).
Standard Greater/Improved Multishot at the wolf. Ivara ignores all forms of miss chances (including total concealment) and all cover (except total). Her arrows are force and thus ignore damage reduction and etherealness. She also ignores protection from arrows and entropic shield due to her Arcane Arrows marksman technique. She doesn't auto-miss on a natural 1 due to her Master of Serendipity marksman technique.
If the wolf is an evil outsider, the bane ability on her bow gives her another +2 enhancement bonus to attack and damage, as well as +2d6 damage.
Every shot is a targetted dispel magic (caster level 25), a critical hit is a targetted greater dispel magic instead, due to the Arcane Arrows marksman technique.

Re: Demons vs. Devils (Devil IC)
(Ivara would know from working with Sabrina in the past, she does not share opponents unless there is only one, and she doesn't even take kindly to someone attacking one she started on)
Sabrina tires of hewing on a big stupid log that a sirrush is, and tries a different tactic. Her hand seems to glow for a moment and she reaches out to touch the beast, casting a spell as she does so

Re: Demons vs. Devils (Devil IC)
The attacks of Ivara decimate what is left of the sirrush and when Sabrina touches her opponent, it seems to just stop moving, frozen in time. (temporal stasis) The remaining beast snaps at Basa, connecting 3 times for a total of 137 points.

(AaaaAAa! 135 hp left )
Basa
I simply cannot have this, but I should still be capable to assist. Basa said, teleporting back from his allies.
Spoiler: ActionsStandard: Dimension Door as far backwards as possible.

Ivara immediately whips around, darting over the ground towards the sirrush attacking Basa, riddling it with arrows.

Re: Demons vs. Devils (Devil IC)
Its hard to say whether the killing effect of Basa's arrows or Ivara's furious assault finishes off the last sirrush, but it topples over, dead. Meanwhile Sabrina ignores the sirrush in stasis, using a Limited Wish to heal her wounds.

Re: Demons vs. Devils (Devil IC)
Seeing the threat having been dealt with, Ivara puts her now seemingly stringless bow over her shoulder and floats over to Basa. Taking a stone from her pack, she touches it to his forehead, lips moving in incantations as his wounds slowly knit.
Once that is done, Ivara heads for the door and thus next room.
Spoiler: OOCIvara uses her command word item of Cure Moderate Wounds to heal Basa back to full.

Re: Demons vs. Devils (Devil IC)
With the sirrushs defeated, the party suddenly becomes aware of some other things in the room. There are two tables in this room. On one table are figurines of horses, each one is labelled with a different name: Mister Magic, Birthday Boy, Lucky Lady, Bonnie Lass, Likely Lad and Golden Girl. The name of the horse indicates its sex. On the other table are 6 human figurines, labelled Kelly, O’Shea, Riley, Jones, Davis and Murray. The human figurines appear to be designed and painted as jockeys, and could be mounted on the horse figurines. The far wall of the room has 6 slots in it, shaped in such a way that a horse and jockey figurine could be placed in each one. The slots are each one above the other. Finally, on the table with the figurines is a scroll. On the scroll is written the following:
1. The horse ridden by Kelly didn't finish last. The one ridden by O'Shea
wasn't first but finished immediately ahead of Birthday Boy.
2. The horse that finished last has a name which starts with the same initial
as the colt (ridden by Riley), who didn't finish fourth.
3. Lucky Lady finished some way ahead of the colt Jones was riding.
4. Likely Lad finished some way behind the horse ridden by Davis whose
horse finished two or three places ahead of Bonnie Lass.
5. Golden Girl finished either three places ahead or three places behind the
one ridden by Murray.#GoreMutualarejerks

Ivara scans the puzzle and pieces. This one knows this puzzle. She gathers the pieces and heads to the slots, placing them like this:

And again, the correct combination of horses, riders and placement causes a panel to open, revealing yet another key. If the pattern holds, there is only one puzzle room left, which would be 19. Of course, a use for all these keys is yet to be found.

Re: Demons vs. Devils (Devil IC)
The group moves to the last puzzle room and opens the door. The room is dominated by a large and complex looking machine. Ominously, the machine is labelled "The Machine of Death". The front of the machine looks like this:
http://tinypic.com/r/jhbyvd/7
Describing these images, from left to right. The squares numbered from 1 to 100 represent a series of flashing buttons. The buttons flash in a completely random pattern, and are an assortment of greens, reds, blues, yellows, and whites, again, completely random. Next to them are a set of levers, they are all currently in a neutral position, but can be moved to any of the settings labeled. Under them are a set of switches, all of them currently in the "up" position. Below them are a set of dials, like the levers, they are in a neutral position, but can be moved to any setting desired. Lastly, on the bottom are a set of sliders, again neutral for now, and again, presumably can be moved.#GoreMutualarejerks

Re: Demons vs. Devils (Devil IC)
Ivara just presses the button 19, watches if anything discernible happens. Then tries 4, 5, 1, 20, 8.
If nothing happens, the left lever gets moved down one position, checking if something happened, continuing until it is all the way down.Last edited by Ridai; 2018-02-18 at 06:02 PM.

Re: Demons vs. Devils (Devil IC)
When the button is pressed, it stops blinking, glowing consistently. When it is unclicked, it goes back to blinking. The same thing happens with every other number.

Re: Demons vs. Devils (Devil IC)
Sabrina studies the board and attempts to figure out if one light is blinking more often and/or if there are more of one particular colour. If she gets an answer to either criteria, she pushes that button.

Nothing happens from manipulating the other controls...at least, nothing visible. Sabrina decides that 32 is flashing the most, and that there are more greens than any other color. 32 is not green.

Re: Demons vs. Devils (Devil IC)
Ivara walks over to the panel with Sabrina and stares at it for a moment, then looks back at Selinda. She is the first to voice an opinion
Its not 32 that’s flashing the most, you stupid cow, its 61
Sabrina feels a surge of anger at Ivara.
Stupid cow? If your IQ would at least match your bra size, you’d see it was 32.
You need to stop looking through your bra, its obviously 61
At least I wear a bra, not letting it all hang out….
The women begin to push and shove at each other, only barely restrained. Ivara and Sabrina defiantly push the buttons they have chosen…Last edited by MikelaC1; 2018-02-20 at 10:38 AM.

Basa
Ladies, ladies, please, there's enough of me to go around, now let's see here...
Basa takes a strong look at the machine, and turns the dials to '6132' and if that doesn't work, then '3261'.

Re: Demons vs. Devils (Devil IC)
Eventually Basa takes the hint from the two erinyes and studies the board to see which button he thinks is blinking more. He settles on 74, which causes more shouting and shoving among all three devils, but when he pushes it and the others are pushed in, the machine slides out of position. Revealed behind the machine is a door, with several key holes in it. Fishing the keys out of her cleavage, Sabrina uses the keys to open the locks and the door. On the other side of the door is a garden and in the middle of the garden is a fountain, currently water is not circulating in it. On top of the fountain lies the object of your quest, the gem.

Re: Demons vs. Devils (Devil IC)
When the door opens and the influence of the machine ends, Ivara telepathically directs to Sabrina This one seeks forgiveness for letting the machine control this one's words. This one awaits your punishment, Lady Sabrina.
Once at the gem, Ivara draws on the magic of the stars, empowering and hiding herself, just to be sure. Then she quickly goes in and snatches the gem for Lady Sabrina. If there are any traps, she is best equipped to deal with them. And should the trap work, only a minion will fall, not Lady Sabrina.
(Ivara casts Improvisation and Greater Invisibility onto herself via her Concurrences)

Re: Demons vs. Devils (Devil IC)
The devils cast the Plane Shift off the scroll and are able to give the Sirrus gem to their mistress Askaretha. In the months that follow, Askaretha's attacks on demonic forces become more and more bold, and with the gem, more and more successful. However Sabrina, Basa and Ivara are not part of these attacks, instead, they lead covert operations against various factions on the fifth plane (Stygia), slowly wresting control over the plane from the imprisoned Levistus. Eventually, after year of victories against the demons that were greatly celebrated and those covertly on the fifth plane, Askaretha became the third woman (after Fierna and Glasya) to take control of a plane of Hell.
