Big Old 5e Reference Sheet
In preparation for a newbie game, I set out to collect all of 5e's various subclasses and races from their scattered books and Unearthed Arcana articles. And write brief descriptions. And then I did more... so anyway, I think this is a complete list of all of the 5e player options? I present it for the community to reference, and also so that anyone can point out things I missed.
All of 5e
6/18/16-- Updated with Plane Shift: Zendikar material and an actual list of sources
12/7/17-- Volo's, Xanathar's, and missing UA added.Last edited by Grod_The_Giant; 2017-12-07 at 09:03 PM.

Re: Big Old 5e Reference Sheet
Outlander's description of "you're a Barbarian" could lead people to tie it to that particular class. Perhaps "you're a medieval redneck" would be better?
In any case, this is a really awesome reference, I'll make sure to save a link somewhere.

Re: Big Old 5e Reference Sheet
This is a great guide! :)
To add (though it may seem out of place, short of a time-travelling campaign): Unearthed Arcana - Modern Magic
You may have deliberately left it out because of it not being traditional fantasy, but it includes City Domain Clerics, Ghost in the Machine Patron Warlocks, and Technomancy Wizards. Some DMs or PCs may want use them for either a campaign set in a world with access to modern technology or to make a character from the future in a medieval setting. I know I would.

Re: Big Old 5e Reference Sheet
I've spotted a few small things: Eladrin are spelt "eldarin" in the guide, the Inheritor background refers to a GM instead of a DM, the Swashbuckler should probably also be noted as in the SCAG andthe Grappler feat just has 'H' next to it instead of 'Half" (though what is the difference?).
Not sure about this one: isn't the "Sulker" feat supposed to be "Stalker"?
All of that is just nitpicking. I'm definitely using this in the future. Great resource!Spoiler: Quotes from the Playground

Re: Big Old 5e Reference Sheet
No, the Sulker is intentional. Essentially, the PC embraces the power of their inner grief and childhood woes to blend into the background. This works because onlookers don't want to engage, but also feel guilty because the PC looks in need of help. Thus, the onlookers avert their eyes discreetly and subconsciously to avoid thinking about the Sulker.
I find that explanation simultaneously awesome and incredibly depressing.Originally Posted by krugaan

Re: Big Old 5e Reference Sheet
Grod, I have to say, now that I had time to take a closer look at your guide to 5e, I can say that it is, in fact, amazing! Upon second glance, what I noticed was that there was an Unearthed Arcana entitled "Ranger Options" with a Variant Ranger and three different "Paths" to take, if you wanted a different Ranger from the one in the PHB. This may be something you want to look into, though I don't know how you would incoporate it into the guide.
Also I was so inspired by your work that I used it as a basis to create a random character generator while I was double checking the content.
Now anyone who wants to use Grod's guide in conjunction with making a random character may want to take this prototype out for a spin (all you need is a dice set and Grod's Reference Sheet, and you're good to go!):

Re: Big Old 5e Reference Sheet
Excellent!
May I make a suggestion?
I'd like to see the Druid expanded to include the various lands, but since this will also make the land Druid much more likely than the moon Druid, we can give the moon Druid a "starting" animal for flavor purposes.
Roll a d20:
1 - Land, Arctic
2 - Moon, Brown Bear
3 - Land, Coast
4 - Moon, Dire Wolf
5 - Land, Desert
6 - Moon, Giant Eagle
7 - Land, Forest
8 - Moon, Giant Spider
9 - Land, Grassland
10 - Moon, Lion or Tiger
11 - Land, Mountain
12 - Moon, Giant Hyena
13 - Land, Swamp
14 - Moon, Giant Toad
15 - Land, Underdark
16 - Moon, Constrictor Snake
17-18 - Pick any Land
19-20 - Pick any Moon
Thoughts?

Re: Big Old 5e Reference Sheet
Huh. It looks much more interesting than the standard Ranger, and a nicer midpoint between Rogue, Fighter, and Druid. I guess I can give it a mention; it's so short it's hard to use, though.
Cool random generator, though I question some of the weighting- the expanded options for race and background are rare, while the classes are just as common. I'd also take off Rune Scribe, since it's a PrC instead of a normal class.Hill Giant Games

Re: Big Old 5e Reference Sheet
While I find this idea absolutely enticing from a chaotic perspective (and I'll probably end up using it for myself, thanks, msghamster!), it doesn't harmonize well with Grod's original list. Besides, given this, we might as well also include the favored terrains of Rangers in the mix.
Yes,you're right! It's really hard to fairly distribute the options for the races, but I thought of it in terms of pragmatism. I figured most everyone would have the PHB and the EEPC, but not everyone would want to look into UA or have the SCAG. Though I suppose that logic goes out the window when we discuss subclasses.
Not sure how to fix that, though perhaps this would do it:
Spoiler: Prestige Class and Multiclassing
13 – Mystic (UA)
14 to 19 – Roll a d12 to determine your Class among Standard Classes
20 – Choose any Class and gain one additional level to be able to multiclass into a Rune Scribe (UA) or into any other Class of your choice
Decided to add a set for alignment, while I was at it.
Spoiler: Bonus!Alignment – Roll a d20:
1 – Lawful Good
2 – Lawful Neutral
3 – Lawful Evil
4 – Neutral Good
5 – True Neutral
6 – Neutral Evil
7 – Chaotic Good
8 – Chaotic Neutral
9 – Chaotic Evil
10 – Choose any Neutral Alignment
11 – Choose any Good Alignment
12 – Choose any Evil Alignment
13 – Choose any Lawful Alignment

Re: Big Old 5e Reference Sheet
I'm away from my books at the moment, but I believe there are a few differences, which should perhaps be noted.
Also, on the subject of minor nitpicks, your description of Air Genasi says they can fly. I'm pretty sure they can only levitate (ie vertical movement only). A picky distinction, but possibly an important one to the right player.

I found this in the features section of the 5e website, and noticed it's not in the content index. I can't post links yet, because I don't have 10 posts, so you'll have to delete the space I added in the URL to view it. It's got some nice archetypes for Warlock and Wizard.

Re: Big Old 5e Reference Sheet
Funnily enough I was just looking at the broken one yesterday (it's actually in the notable threads sticky).
I am very greatful to have this resource, and I want to point out a few things which have been left off.
The Grung and Tortle races, and the subclasses from UA: Modern Magic are missing, and the Undyling Light pact actually was rewritten as the Celestial.
