I've made myself an appointment with a private gender clinic for April, also starting out on laser removal for my facial hair!

I also ran into someone when playing Overwatch who turned out to also be trans, he commented that if I hadn't talked about being trans he wouldn't have been able to tell by my voice alone, which was a nice confidence boost that my voice training is going well.

Wanted to share a bit of positive news, got my first (of two needed) diagnoses of Gender Incongruence via. a private clinic. All being well, I'll have my second by the start of July and be able to start out on hormones ^_^

Not sure what the transition (heh) onto NHS care will be like, but for the provider I'm using in the interim, I actually only have to wait and see what the blood tests come back as and I should be good to go! Which is happening in ~5 weeks, so I'm actually pretty dang close now.

It's interesting reading the psychologist write-up of our appointment, though, because they clearly misheard/misunderstood a couple of things in the conversation (nothing major) and the cynic in me is wondering if they just heard what they were expecting to hear from a new trans patient. The one that stuck out is them writing up that I experimented with femme clothing as a kid (if I did, I have no recollection at all of doing so).

I did comment on my anxieties around voice while in the call with them, though, and she told me that as far as she concerned my voice passed, and that was with knowing I'd voice trained. So that was really reassuring.
