Then she cackles and rolls her eyes. "Psh, yeah, right. That's a good one." She giggles a bit. "Besides, just trust me on this one. Nobody around here's got more arcane or spiritual might than me."

"Pffff you think I'm joking." Kin mumbles. Then realizes that the 'that's a good one' comment may have been aimed at the being the most powerful around.

Fighting down a bit of a blue-ish blush, Kin coughs once, and goes right back to joking. "I suppose I'll just have to take your word for it. Since there's noooo proof at alllll. I at least showed my mighty magical prowess." Her tone is definitely still jovial, and she's smiling even as she fights down the bit of a blush.

"Oh, you want a demonstration? I can't do much here, but..." Ash snaps her fingers and... nothing happens. What was that supposed to do? But then, a few seconds later, Kin may just hear a thunderclap.
"There it is. I didn't want to bring a lightning bolt down on top of us, so I put it a few kilometers away."

"Oh, you want a demonstration? I can't do much here, but..." Ash snaps her fingers and... nothing happens. What was that supposed to do? But then, a few seconds later, Kin may just hear a thunderclap.
"There it is. I didn't want to bring a lightning bolt down on top of us, so I put it a few kilometers away."

"Oooooh!" Kin seems both genuinely excited, interested, and honestly impressed.
But of course has to play it off and make more jokes.
"Though, pfffffffff," she says with a heavily exaggerated eyeroll. "Could have been puuuure coincidence. I mean just look at the sky outside," perfectly clear, not a cloud to be seen. "prime thunderstorm."

Ash makes a more genuine eyeroll. "Well, I guess believing me's your choice, then. I'd do another demonstration, but I doubt the owners here would appreciate it much. Plus I couldn't afford to pay for the damanges."

Into the Inn walks a young woman who hasn't been here in quite some time.

She wears jeans, hiking boots, and a green long sleeved T-shirt. Her brown hair hangs well past her shoulders. Her skin seems a bit pale. Her hazel eyes take in the sight of the Inn with an expression of nostalgia on her face.

Clearly, she missed this place.

The woman wanders over to an empty tabler and seats herself, setting aside a worn looking canvas shoulder bag she brought with her.

Alysha notices Kin waving to her. Hey, a new face! Meeting new people is great. She waves back and makes her way over.

And just like that, Ash is grinning again. "I guess I can't say no to 'someday', can I? I'm sure I'll find an excuse to show you some of the things I can really do."

Kin takes the hand, and shakes it with a fairly firm grip. Enough to be firm, but not excessive. "And I'm Kin," pronounced Keen, like the edge of a blade, "good to meet you." The fangs really don't seem to bother Kin. Heck, she's a snake. She has fangs of her own. "Pull up a chair. Take a seat. And this is Ash!" Kin says, remembering her manners!

Alysha takes a seat next to Kin, giving Ash an energetic wave. Hi!

She orders a non-alcoholic Ichor Liquor. When it arrives, she reaches into her bag and pulls out a pink curly straw to drink it with.

For me, much the same reason." Kin admits with a bit of a shrug. "Just got in to town from . . . man I was all over the place for a while there. Decided to visit somewhere where I hopefully won't get teleported away randomly for at least a little while."

Well thank you! It's a pleasure to meet'cha! And an honor to be the first you've met." Kin says with an easy grin. "Lamia, is the technical term, at least for me. There are also nagas and . . . prolly a few others. They're all different in their own ways.
Don't ask me for a super in depth explanation though." Kin admits, downing a drink. "I just work here." She says with a laugh.

Ash is certain Kin only blinked. Who would actually wink at her? The only people who ever did were long gone. "Just keep an eye out. If there's some towering monster or something? I might just be there."

Kin waves her hand slightly, in an apologetic sort of way. "I'm sorry, must be the drink. I do not work here. I just work around. Wherever I can find something. Here just, being the Nexus I suppose. That said, not too long. Less than a year, I'd say."

"Oooooh, some big, towering monsters?" Kin asks, with an odd giggle. She's definitely not teasing Ash; not at all. But there is probably some inside joke Ash isn't privy to. "I would enjoy getting to see you in action, not going to lie. Your magic sounds quite interesting!"

...Also, totally didn't think you actually came from an egg. She tilts her head a bit, her eyes darting to one side, clearly imagining a tiny Kin slithering out of the remains of an egg. Then she nods. Yep. That's adorable.

Somebody who is totally human walks into the DFI. She looks around, thinks of an inappropriate question, then realizes that she's not talking to anybody.

The totally-a-human then says, "Hi," to nobody in particular, then sits down.

Her name is Cleveland Bot. She tells people her parents were Dutch, hence the last name.

Someone else is sitting near where Cleverland sits. "Hello," the well-dressed older gentleman says. A black cane restsat the side of his table, and he is enjoying a steak dinner.

Miss Cleverland Bott looks at the well-dressed gentleman, and then nods in recognition. In comparison, she fells a little underdressed, because she's just wearing a casual autumn outfit.

She looks at his dinner, and then asks, "So what are you doing?"

The man is clearly overdressed, Cleverland is not underdressed, this is obvious just by looking at the other patrons. "I'm eating, of course." Despite his apparel, his table manners do not seem to be especially good.

"That makes sense. And I'm, aaah," Kin glances pointedly downwards at the lengths of tail that seem to follow her everywhere she goes. "Well, any portal anywhere needs to stay open a goodly bit longer just so I can fit." She says with a laugh.
