Mutt Foster Mutt charges the goblin to the north after 10ft he leaps clear over its head while clawing it with his back claws. Spoiler: First part of actions Show Move: Only provokes if I move out of reach. I can dance around in reach all I want. He moves at least 10ft in a straight line with leap so I should get pounce. The leap should easily clear the goblin being small and the lions jump being 25ft. Attack: Claw (1d20+5)[7] slashing damage (1d6+3)[6] crit (1d6)[5] if it hits goblin must make a dc 13 str save or be knocked prone. The goblin on the south side of the road dodges Nalan's hammer, and attacks him in turn. Nalan and Sariel can see the goblin is also glancing behind you, looking worried.

Swivelling on a foot Martin turns to a dress the goblins.

I'd advise you to surrender quickly lest we be forced into ending more lives.

To punctuate his point Martin plunges into the brush, and stabs once more with his rapier at the southern goblin archer.

The goblin looks at Martin, at lion-Mutt and then at the road, where three goblins are laying on the ground. He licks his lips nervously and drops his scimitar on the ground. Hands raised, the goblin says: "Okay, okay! I give, I give. Tell lion go away, Veeg taste bad! Veeg promise Veeg will behave!"

From the south side, no more arrows are flying. Nalan and Sariel can see the other goblin archer disappearing into the thicket.

Combat is over. You each get 125 exp!

Nalan walks up to the goblin. He had never seen one this close before and he finds the creature quite amusing.

"Veeg, is it? Were it you who killed those horses? Why did your group ambush us?? Answer me now or suffer my wrath!"

Veeg seems to shrink, but starts talking quickly in broken Common. "Chief Klarg! Chief Klarg tell: ' Go to Road, wait for dwarf! Bring dwarf to Klarg! Then Klarg not hit you.' We capture dwarf and human yesterday. We take them to Chief. Then we come back. Wait. Then you come." Veeg points at the wagon. "You got wagon. Lots of stuff! And you got cows, tasty!" Veeg finishes in a huff and gives you a grin. You notice his teeth have been filed and seem very sharp. The goblin might have thought the smile disarming, but with the sharp teeth it doesn't really work.

"Uuh, Veeg afraid of big cat and big human." Veeg responds to Sariel and looks at her and Mark. "You nice people? If Veeg help you, you let Veeg go? Veeg not want to be cat food. Maybe cat want to eat Lor?" Veeg points at one of the goblins lying on the ground.

Nalan lifts his Warhammer threatening

"The creature means to trick us into compassion by pretending to be harmless. Don't let this monster fool you! It would have killed us without a second thought!"

Nalan looks to his travelling companions seeking permission to smite the goblin.

Umm, Nalan a quick word if you don't mind.

With that Martin walks over and quietly talks with Nalan, out of the goblins earshot.

I get you need to kill 'em and everything, but wouldn't it really be better overall to keep this little guy around long enough to help deal wth the others that he told us about?

The young paladin, Nalan, feels embarrassed by Sariel’s observation and he struggles to find an adequate response:

“Miss Sariel, That’s not what I.. I mean, the goblins are... And you, I mean...”

Getting pulled aside by Martin, he listens to the bard (yes, Nalan thinks Martin is just a bard) and finally nods agreeing to let Veeg live.

He walks over to the dead horses and clears his throat:

“Well then, no use lingering around here, right? I should clear the road for our wagon to pass.”

He proceeds to (or attempts to) drag the horses out of the road.

[Majin]

Veeg cowers and raises his hands above his head as Nalan lifts his hammer. Then sighs as Nalan seems to not execute the goblin right now.

With some effort, Nalan manages to drag the horses off the road. He also notices the corpses have started to smell a little bit, though the haven't rotted that much. This seems to confirm what the goblin said about Gundren being ambushed yesterday.

The goblin martin knocked out is starting to stir, groaning lightly.

After dragging the horses out the way, Nalan exhales heavily.

"We should at least tie them up, right? I have some rope on my backpack."

Nalan ties a firm not on the groggy goblin, preventing it from using it's hands, but leaving the monster free to walk.

"You too, Veeg, hands behind your back. Come on now, this won't hurt."

He then turns to the group:

"Is anyone hurt? May I tend to your wounds?"

[Majin]

The groggy goblin doesn't put up any resistance. Veeg also lets Nalan tie his arms, though he gives the paladin looks that are a mix of fear and resentment.
You can also notice Veeg blinking, as if momentarily confused, then giving a sour glance at Martin, though he doesn't say anything.

Mutt Foster Mutt sees little reason to stay a lion so he returns to normal. Out of earshot of the goblins. "we should have them lead us to thier leader. Afterwards we can blindfold them and tell them to stay still for an hour so if they try to follow us then they will be hard pressed to catch up but more likely they won't want to tangle with us again. We can tie them to a tree or something while we are rescuing Gundren.

"well said, Mutt. We shall follow your plan."

Nalan will ask Sariel to convince the goblins, as she seems the one who built a better rapport with the monsters.

The paladin will also use his healing hands ability on any party member that has been hurt.

After all the matters are settled, Nalan will search the bodies of the fallen goblins.

"Not scavenging for myself, mates. But these creatures often steal things of sentimental value to the common folk. Lockets, wedding rings, family heirlooms.. All can be returned to the owners."

"Besides, any piece of copper or silver can be put to better use in the collection plate of the nearest temple."

The paladin will then hoist himself up the wagon, ready to follow along the road!

Once his wound is healed Martin will once more take position atop the cart.

If we do need to retrieve prisoners from this group perhaps we could parley with them instead of charging in for no good reason?

veeg do you know of my people?sariel questions in common. the treasure isnt what concerns me it is the prisoners.

From the goblins, Nalan finds [roll0] copper pieces and [roll1] silver pieces. The goblins obviously aren't rolling in money. Besides the coin and weapons, the goblins have odd trinkets (made from scraps and animal parts, there seems to even be a human tooth in one necklace). Veeg had a recently deceased rat in his pocket ("My lunch!" the goblin squeaks).

Veeg tilts his head at Sariel's question. "Uhh... Cave elf? Veeg hear some talk about elves that come from the Deep." Veeg is clearly not very learned. He does stir when Sariel mentions the prisoners. "Ooh! Veeg know where dwarf and human are yesterday! You let Veeg go if Veeg take you there? If lion-man or big human hungry, they can eat Lor? Still nice and fresh, will twitch funny!" Veeg nods towards the unconscious goblin and again gives a sharp-toothed grin. The goblin really seems to be afraid of Nalan and Mutt. "Cave not far away." Veeg points to the north of the road with his foot.

veeg do you know what makes a monster.she tries to be tender and sincere but says in a cold mannera monster is what these people see us as,you and i veeg.you could make these people trust you.maybe even become a great hero of this world someday.if....you could tell me why these people would atack you on sight.

Nalan will gather the weaponry and arrows from the defeated goblins and stow them in the wagon, if any room is available.

Not safe to leave those lying around. I'm sure the town guards will be glad with a donation, humble as it may be.

Nalan i understsand why people see me as what i am if i met an orc id be hardpressed not to judge him.i have no rapport with them or veeg i just hope veeg with what little wit he has can be convinced.my mother was a "drow" slaves and all dear old dad saw something in her.i dont see much in veeg, and would if the need arise blow him to the nine hells and back. she yells to mutt while awaitimg nalans response and screams. mutt you know im keeping that amazing pounce in the stories i will sing.
