Re: (OOC) The Primeval Dark
They may be referring to Zombie, which reads:
This status effect causes the character to have their type changed to [Undead], but without any of the benefits of that type. Those inflicted are now damaged by healing spells and effects, but immune to death spells and effects. When hit points drops at or below 0 hit points, the status effect is removed and the character is unconscious.

Re: (OOC) The Primeval Dark
Flatfooted is correct. Furthermore, Erik didn't take 'Undead Form', he took 'Improved Undead Form', which is not an active ability. It modifies the base 'Undead Form' class ability of Gravewalker, making it an invalid choice for a Scorned Ability. As previously mentioned within the recruitment, Scorned abilities do not require you meet the prerequisites for them, however they do not grant prior or prerequisite abilities when you take them. Further, they don't grant other associate abilities; if you take lay on hands, you do not get mercies too.
Erik will need to select a different ability, or take the base Undead Form class ability.
This may be in your favor since you misinterpreted the function.

Re: (OOC) The Primeval Dark
Scorned abilities aren't user-friendly, right? They don't come with an instinctive idea of how to use them, and we haven't actually experienced using them until we happen to do so for the first time, since we weren't Scorned before- right?
I wrote my post with the assumption that Walt used a Scorned ability instinctively, and that the experience was new to him.
Also, given his Flaw, only the Bloodrager part of his Scorned abilities mechanically turns him into a mindless berserker, but as a matter of RP I'm going to be treating them all as more or less different degrees of one big, linked thing, and roleplaying the degree of cognitive disruption of the non-bloodrage parts as being more significant than just a -2 alchemical penalty to Intelligence.Last edited by Toptomcat; 2019-04-04 at 05:32 PM.

Re: (OOC) The Primeval Dark
Ah, I still remember poor Darakhellan.
Thats just another reminder how things can go south quickly. At least he didn't stay dead though
Machari will be out of the game for now. She might show up again in the future, but it'll be awhile.
Since group 2 has shrunk down to two PCs, I may bring in the PCs waiting in group 3 before their reality sheits the bed.

Re: (OOC) The Primeval Dark
Yeah, but Erik's AC is his main defense. Despite being a frontline fighter, his health is the second lowest of the four of us. I was going to rely on having a really high AC (27 once I cast shield) to keep him alive. But if they're targeting touch AC, he's dead.
I was foolishly confident that he'd make it through this combat nicely, since his flat-footed AC is only 2 lower than his regular AC. Mistakes were made.
No spheres for me, I have too many important feats that I get from being non-sphere.Last edited by Stevesciguy; 2019-04-06 at 09:26 AM.

Re: (OOC) The Primeval Dark
Well, I do have acrobatic slippers
hese supple gray leather slippers enable the wearer to keep his balance in precarious positions. The wearer retains his Dexterity bonus to AC when climbing, running, or using the Acrobatics skill to move on narrow surfaces or uneven ground without falling

Re: (OOC) The Primeval Dark
Yeaaah, AC is good to have, but that's one minor layer of defense. Most Veilbeasts don't even target AC, but these scrubby ones do. Fortunately these things don't hit hard, but the proverbial timer on your 'clock' was cut a fair bit from that hit. Flat-footed touch attacks can be nasty. Since these things can sneak attack like nobody's business, Faux was also caught off-guard.
Fortunately, or unfortunately, that's not the main threat this round.
You've got bigger, immediate, problems rather than a cursed wound.
Welcome to the next round.Last edited by Mornings; 2019-04-06 at 06:42 PM.

Re: (OOC) The Primeval Dark
Side note, Kazik can climb his full rope as a move, and can still continue climbing normally with his remaining actions. The door is at A10 (15ft up from where the rope ends), so he should be out this round if he can muscle his way through the water fountain. (it's a strength check to move through.)
Erik needs to haul-ass too, before he gets grappled. He's close enough to Kazik's rope to use that to assist his climb further.
Everyone else is in a pickle.Last edited by Mornings; 2019-04-06 at 06:54 PM.

Re: (OOC) The Primeval Dark
I'll have to risk AoOs to get there, but it looks like I'm on a pretty nasty time limit. I don't have a weapon out, and I don't have improved unnamed strike, so I don't get any AoOs myself.
If I can get up there, my rope is long enough that it'd reach all the way to the water, if I can tie it off to somewhere. Booking it might be the best way to help the others get outLast edited by Stevesciguy; 2019-04-06 at 07:04 PM.

Re: (OOC) The Primeval Dark
Alright! Well, before anything else, I gotta make that reflex save...
Reflex: (1d20+8)[17] DC 14
Acrobatics 1: (1d20+5)[7] DC ?
Acrobatics 2: (1d20+5)[8] DC ?
Acrobatics 3: (1d20+5)[8] DC ?
Acrobatics 4: (1d20+5)[19] DC ?
Looks like I only need to move two spaces to get to the nearest part of the rope, which is great news
Climb 1: (1d20+7)[26] DC 10
Climb 2: (1d20+7)[19] DC 13
Let's hope for some good stuff...
Looks like I'm gonna take some AoOs, but at least I made it to the rope
Also, their to-hit is low, yeah, but so is my ACLast edited by Stevesciguy; 2019-04-06 at 07:31 PM.

Re: (OOC) The Primeval Dark
Well, crap. If Matik is there we may be joining you four soon.
Also, a word of advice: Read through the skills and movement rules that you're going to use at least twice. Darakhellan was the result of an accidental AoO against my PC that killed him, and raised him as a creature that had to eat a sentient being once a day to survive.
Fun stuff!
