Nice. And these guys aren't throwing around touch attacks, so you're fine.

    Hooray! I'm not necessarily dead!

I'm totally going to regret this, but...

We're flat-footed while climbing, right? Which means the Lurks would've been targeting my flat-footed CMD, which is 18. Which means the second one would've gotten me...

    Strength Check: (1d20+4)[16] DC 10

Eh, don't worry about it. They rolled trash anyways. These things are also not veilbeasts. If they were... You'd be three different flavors of dead already lol. They're different than the light eaters you saw before.

Ah, so we're not completely screwed. Cool

Ok, so they aren't veil beasts, they're veil chumps

Alright, so move action to climb to rope, then another to climb up the rope... once he reaches the top, if he's feeling helpful, he could pull out his bow and start shooting some of the veil chumps off of the others... unfortunately, Crofte is probably a goner, I don't think Erik would try to help him much, thinking him already dead

Erik needs to haul-ass too, before he gets grappled. He's close enough to Kazik's rope to use that to assist his climb further.

Everyone else is in a pickle.
True, but I could also use that move action to pick up whatever it was that Crofte threw, since I assume that's the same pile of boxes it landed in.

Hmm, DC 14 reflex means Kazik only has a 50% chance to succeed. I think I'm going to expend martial focus to treat the reflex as if I'd rolled a 13, giving me a 20 total.

    You bet he did

That's only because I replied first, though. Also, didn't have much choice, was surrounded by three veil chumps, with a curse that stops me from healing. Had to go fast

Erik does have the fearless ability, so that shirt is quite appropriate

It's not a first-come-first serve deal. Kazik's initiative is still higher for actions during the round.
For ordering purposes, even though it's group initiative, it's: Kazik > Walt > Faux > Erik, on the stack.

I know, I'm kidding around. It just reads kind of funny, like Erik saw a cenobite driving on the interstate and decided to cut him off anyway. You're just hoping he doesn't have such sights to show you.

Could Erik make a Craft(Weapons) check to discern anything about Matik's blade? That's something Erik would be very interested in.

Rolling in case of a yes:

    Craft(Weapons) to learn about Matik's sword: (1d20+7)[12]

A bastard sword, you say? Erik's pretty handy with those.

Of course, Matik is probably handier. Bet he could kick Erik's ass into the next dimension, crazy sun-sword or no.

Eh, was worth a shot at least.

Kinda, its a Veil that Stella has on her atm. She is in the form of Alicia whom is basically someone that doesnt exactly exist yet. There is still a fight for control to an extent but its only when i do something stupid that Alicia doesnt really like and so she tries to take control for some reason. If you want more you can go back to like page 10 or 11 and read what happened.

Characters with a BAB of +1 or better can normally draw a sheathed weapon as a free action 'as part of a regular move.' 'Regular move' is not a well-defined rules category. Can a climbing move count, if it's a one-handed weapon on a worn bandolier- an alchemical throwing weapon?

Not sure if they are based on an actual system anywhere or if they were developed by Mornings himself. But they function very similar to spells but are just very powerful and have a very wide variety of uses.

There are 'veils' from the akashic magic system (DSP), however the Veils being used by Stella are a Mashup of a number of Monte Cook subsystems and a few take aways from the transcendence handbook for an entirely new system of magic that functions around creating metaphysical constructs of energy. These function vastly different than conventional casting, and is only accessible via potentials in this game.

What little is known about Veils has been disclosed IC. If you're interested in other players and the systems they're interacting with, it may be in your interest to go back through the IC and take a look.

    Nice throw by Walt.

I want to post group 1's update tonight, but dunno if that's going to happen. Busy day and pretty tired.

Also not sure if I want to deal with rolling the dice on Faux's DDoor right now...
