Likely less that surprisingly, the creature falls limb from the las-cannon shot. You see no other reatures running aroud but the scattering of local birds from the loud crack.

Hexus

Hexus looks at the beast as it topples to the ground before approaching slowly, a wary eye on the smoking lascannon as he troops forward his lathe weapons trained on the corpse lest it move or leap up. Close to it the servo arm moves forward to drag the beast from the chimera and allows him to approach the access panel on the tank and check its systems and greet it machine spirit.
