Serious Plots 7: Why so srs?

Ravanys keeps her eye on the exchange between Beehive and Mr. Maret. She waits till Beehive leaves before commenting on it.

Huh. Sounds like Fineblood is giving somebody to that guy. Hate to be in his shoes.

Tomb of Hope Removed

The fallen angel is bound to the wall. Also blind. She growls. "Mother Skinblade will flay you for your temerity in invading this sacred space. Looters, defilers, you deserve the worst Mother's imagination can invent for your torment."

The other angel shudders and straightens, reaching out to the first angel's halo. "The blade has warped and twisted you, sister. My forgiveness is not enough to purify you, but I hope it helps." There's no visible difference in the fallen angel or her halo.

Vault Z

Jason spends a few minutes wiring the power pack up to the battery terminals. If it can power his suit for a few days, it should be able to power the complex for a little while, long enough to burn all the little kid monsters.

Tomb of Hope Removed

Erasmus swings his blade at the fallen angel's ankle, trying to hamstring her and force her to fall.

"Isn't she beyond help?"
Alice looks skeptically at the fallen angel.
And then, with her bound to the wall, just goes to hit the torturer again and again, till she falls apart like the first one.

Cass ignores the scene between the two angels for now, deciding to look around the room with fresh eyes now that the fight has been resolved for the moment.

[Morty]

[The Toxin House]

"This pamphlet looks interesting," Fayyaad replies. "Beehive said it contains the 'dope' on the party. If we can take a look at it somehow, we might learn what we need."

[Leostales]

The Toxin House
Maret gets up, raises his glass and says, "To Scarson Fineblood the finest vampire I've had the pleasure of meeting."
This is met with enthusiastic applause. "Do not worry my friends, your day will come. It will come very soon. Now I bid you adieu.


As he leaves, someone mutters, "I thought humans weren't allowed."

Ravanys mimes the toast, but raises an eyebrow at the words spoken.

Huh. Totally no hidden meaning there, right?

Ravanys shrugs a bit. Might have some useful stuff in it. You wanna try to grab it from Maret?

[Morty]

[The Toxin House]

Fayyaad nods.

"It's worth a try. As long as we can do it discreetly. I don't suppose you know how to pick pockets?"

Ravanys wiggles her hand in the air a bit. Little bit. I'm okay at it. Help if I have a distraction.

[Morty]

[The Toxin House]

Fayyaad grins and his tail swishes behind him.

"I believe I can provide that. We need to get out of here quickly and cut him off. Then I'll pretend I'm a drunkard looking for a good party and you snatch the pamphlet."

Ravanys nods, setting her still full glass down. Sounds good to me. Might grab his wallet, too. She grins at Fayyaad.

Lead the way. I'll follow.

[Morty]

[The Toxin House]

Fayyaad will leave after Maret and try to find a way through the streets to cut him off. For it to work, he and Ravanys need to approach him from different directions, so it doesn't look like they're working together.

Ravanys follows, keep a good amount of distance between her, Fayyaad, and Maret. She keeps them both in sight, but always in her peripheral. And she keeps herself out of Maret's vision as much as she can.

The Mysterious Mr. Maret

When Fayyaad cuts off Maret and pretends to be drunk. Maret laughs and says, "You shouldn't be out here, just cause its Halloween doesn't mean that people won't notice." If Ravanys attempts to grab his wallet and brochure, he will make no move to stop her.

[Morty]

[The Mysterious Mr. Maret]

"They can notice all they want," Fayyaad says, oozing confidence borne out of stupidity. "This one night we get to be what we please. But where do I find a proper party in this place?"

[Mysterious Mr. Maret]

As Fayyaad talks with Mr. Maret, Ravanys will casually approach behind him, as if she were simply walking past. Without stopping, she'll go to slip the pamphlet right out of his pocket, slide it under her coat, and keep on walking.

[Leostales]

[The Mysterious Mr. Maret]

"Well, Scarson Fineblood has a good party going on in a half-hour or so. But its invitation only. Now I know you aren't drunk, you were perfectly sober at the Toxin House a few minutes ago. But given that you want to get in so badly, I could use a couple body guards to make sure my deal doesn't go sour, sound good?"


((If Ravanys reads the pamphlet she will learn the following:
*The time of the party (10:30)
*The address (Somewhere outside of the main city.)
*The following message:

To all the friends of inhumans, we have put up with the human domination of planet earth for milennia, that must now change, on this New Year's day, we will take back what deserves to be ours.

Fayyaad decides to drop the act once it's clear it's not working.

"How perceptive of you. We do want to get in, so your offer sounds tempting."

"First we need to stop at my place to pick up some stuff for the party, that is if you're coming."
He continues to walk down the street, waiting for Fayyaad and Ravanys to follow.

Ravanys was going to sneak off and read the pamphlet. But then he just stated he wants to bring them in as bodyguards. No point now.

So she pockets the pamphlet and follows the pair of men. She can play the role of bodyguard well enough.

The Mysterious Mr. Maret
Mr. Maret heads down an alley enshrouded with mists. As they walk through the mists, they find themselves in a completely different location. A grassy crooked hill with a crooked tower on the top with a crooked path leading to it. The place is shrouded in blue darkness.

After walking up the path and arriving at the door, Mr. Maret looks at them and asks, "Want to come in?"

[Morty]

[Mysterious Mr. Maret]

"If it's necessary," Fayyaad says with some hesitation. This place just keeps pulling surprises on them. "I'm fine with waiting outside."

[Leostales]

The Mysterious Mr. Maret

"You might as well, there's no use waiting outside," he says as he opens the door.

Ravanys raises an eyebrow to Fayyaad. She totally gets why he wants to wait outside. But...might be better for them to keep an eye on him?

Come on. I'll watch your back.

[Morty]

[Mysterious Mr. Maret]

"Fair enough. Let's head on in." Fayyaad has to admit he wasn't being very sensible.

[Leostales]

"If you guys are so anxious, you can just wait in the living room." He says as he walks inside.

The living room is...disturbing to say the least. Various weapons and torture devices are leaning against walls, which are adorned with graphic paintings of torture, rape, mutilation, and death. There rests a plush chair facing one wall with posters of the following characters

• Metalhead
• A man wearing riot armor
• A man wearing a blue pinstriped suit and glasses (@Morty this is the man in the "Elect Redlodge" poster that was seen at Erin's Emporium, though there is no way that the two would recognize him)
• A drow wizard

The pictures have bullet holes in them or knives sticking out of them.

"Make yourself at home," Maret says.

The following music plays in the background

Ravanys stays near the door, her eye darting around, taking in all the details she can. She raises an eyebrow at the posters. A hit list, maybe?

[Morty]

[Mysterious Mr. Maret]

Alright, now Fayyaad isn't so sure if coming here was a good idea. Then again, it just means this guy needs keeping a very close eye on.

"Let's play along. We can't afford to antagonize him."

[Leostales]

The Mysterious Mr. Maret

Mr. Maret returns almost as soon as he left, wearing a brown robe and a gold mask which looks like a screaming face. "I'm back all," he says. "Let's go this party."

Ravanys gives a quick nod to Fayyaad. When Mr. Maret returns, Ravanys takes note of the mask.

This a masquerade we're going to?

The Mysterious Mr. Maret

"Not Really, but people might think I'm human if I don't wear this," he explains. "Humans aren't invited."
He then quickly heads out the door, waiting for them outside.
