Domestic Abusive and Abusive Relationships

So I'm just wondering what the Playground's official stance is with talking about such serious topics as domestic abuse and abusive relationships. I obviously understand that there are better places to do such things, but if someone wanted to (for like for support or something like that) would it go against the rules?

General support threads are fine. Whether you want to start a new one or post in one of the existing ones is up to you; a specific one will by its nature have a narrower focus, and be more likely to fall off as people move on to other posts. (If you're trying to recover after an abusive relationship, you'll probably want to come back to share your thoughts and get support on a regular basis.)

We're not allowed to give professional advice, outside of saying "this is serious, you need to go to a professional now" and maybe providing a link to help you find one. And we're not allowed to get into political topics, due to how often they become raging trashfires. So people to talk with while you're picking up the pieces is fine. Professional theraputic level help, or an in depth discussion of the #metoo movement, are outside this board's scope.

Sheriff: This is a pretty good description of the situation. Nothing about that topic itself is out-of-bounds for the Playground, but in discussing it, be sure to abide by all the rules we do have.
