so far i came up with is that, a assimar warlock was having dream about developing a firearm that was semi-influence by her patron

Can your “firearm” end up an Arcane focus for Eldritch Blast so it fires unlimited Arcane bullets instead of conjuring an AK-47?

If you can, then I’d say your “firearm” was something you built in a blind fury after waking up from that dream, and that when you put it on it bound itself to you and through your pact with a Celestial.

Well, your patron has "gifted" you with a weapon, presumably as part of tempting you to make your pact. The question is why? Why is having a innovative weapon attractive to the character? what are you intending to use it for? Revenge is a popular choice...

Are there firearms already in the world? If so, is this a new design?

Are you looking for a patron suggestion? For Example:

• a Seeker Warlock would have the desire to create a new thing through the thrill of discovery
• a GOO Warlock may be accidentally showed that firearms exist in a parallel universe
• a Fiend or Raven Queen Patron may show the warlock firearm designs for a specific purpose (like killing a target at range impossible for any longbow)

in a way yes and what i mean by developing a firearm is that coming up with the blueprint/idea on how to build it and for background i was thinking ether Guild Artisan or Soldier and the level we are stating at is 6

Well, you could go for being a weapon designer/blacksmith having a hard time holding up with the competition. You started praying for some ideas to prevent your bankruptcy and something answered in your dreams. Depending on your patron, this could be an Infernal hand cannon or a powerful device spreading Divine justice. Based on this dream you go looking for the chemical/magical possibilities. Not sure if firearms are a known thing in your world.
