Brother Jaume grunts in agreement with the plan but doesn’t have that ability.

Re: Strange Aeons: In Search of Sanity II [IC - Group #2]
"If it's simply to clean me up, I have simpler solutions."
She adds some mystic words and waves her hands for a while, and when she stops, she is clean again. Maeni adds, with a touch of irony.
"But to answer your other preoccupation, even if they aren't blessed to be as perfect as I am, I do consider them, and every one of yours, to be of the same, sentient, specie as I. What I did, consciously or not, was cannibalism. Maybe I'm not so perfect after all."

Re: Strange Aeons: In Search of Sanity II [IC - Group #2]
The prestidigitation removes dirt and soiling from the clothes, but it doesn't remove larger "chunks" and doesn't affect Maeni's body.
So, the chunks still have to be scraped off before another casting of prestidigitation, and even then it does nothing for Maeni's body (or the lower parts of her hair). So it is almost as a blood-and-vomit covered person put on relatively clean clothes.11APR2024: Completed reading Paizo's Pathfinder Campaign Setting: Demons Revisited (2013, Jacobs).

With her acute sense of fashion, Maeni quickly realize something is not right.
"Does any of you has a bucket or something ? I'll need water and a place where I can have some privacy to clean me for good ?"

Re: Strange Aeons: In Search of Sanity II [IC - Group #2]
Flair nodded. "I'll go grab one from downstairs. As unpleasant as this room is, I suggest you stay here until we can get you washed up; it's the closest we have for privacy for you without getting you downstairs, and that might disturb the patients below." He then turned to Brother Jaume. "You stay here and keep an eye on her; I'm relatively certain that she'll be fine, but if there's a relapse, we'll want to know immediately." Turning to Winter, he adds "Winter, while I'll want you and Jens to treat Dr Elbourne's patients downstairs, you should probably be present for her washing up. I don't want her to be left alone with the remains lest we risk a relapse. Once she's cleaned up, we can take her to the work room to the west of here to wait out the quarantine." He made a mental note to clear out the ghoul corpses before putting her there; should the madness take her again, best not give her undead flesh to gnaw on.
"If there's nothing else, we'd best get to it."Last edited by digiman619; 2020-01-08 at 04:41 PM.

BJ nods to Flair and then he speaks to Maeni.
“Best to wait here child. I’ll look after ye.”

Flair, you will be able to get a bucket from downstairs. You now have a full measure of the Great Hall, that you didn't before since previously the haze limited sight to 40'. You see a lot of confused patients down here, but not nearly as many as you expected. What do you do now?

Re: Strange Aeons: In Search of Sanity II [IC - Group #2]
Flair directs any survivors he finds to the chapel and keeps his eyes out for a bowl or platter; if there were no mirrors in this place, a pool of water would serve as a makeshift mirror. Regardless, he heads back up as soon as possible. The sooner they got Maeni cleaned up and into quarantine, the sooner they could help Wren's patients.

Flair can't trust the water available for a good reflective surface. It isn't until he goes up and Brother Jaume casts create water into the bucket that Flair can finally get a (poor) sense of the scarring on his right eye.

Re: Strange Aeons: In Search of Sanity II [IC - Group #2]
In retrospect, it really should have been a mirror. A bucket of water couldn't be brought close to get a closer look, nor could it be dramatically shattered in either anger or shock upon seeing the likely irreversible change to his face. A change this massive deserved to have a big reaction, but alas, what is deserved and what is are oft separate beasts.
All things considered, the scarring wasn't too bad. It would be a lie to say that Flair was completely fine with the change, but after the night he had yesterday, it could have been far worse. The scars, though odd looking, radiated out in regular angles, so if one didn't know better, they might assume that it was a part of some ritual scarification, and if nothing else, they gave his face a sort of rugged edge it never had previously.
No, what bothered him was the eye. There was a common expression, that weighed heavily on him right now: "The eyes are the window to the soul". Strictly speaking they're not, of course, but the sentiment behind it was true: you can learn an awful lot about someone based on how they carry their eyes. The crazed eyes of a killer, the 'dead' eyes of a sociopath, the shifty eyes of a liar; so much of a person's thought processes can be inferred via their eyes.
And now his eyes (or at least his right eye) were fundamentally changed. its sclera now radiated a deep, luminescent blue, and his iris was now roughly 20% bigger; even without the glow, the mismatch between the eyes would have made him look disconcerting. But most oddly of all, was the way that the glow seemed to emanate from the eye; whenever he moved his head, the glow seemed to play catch-up, as it trailed to the eye's current position. Like a spotlight straining to catch a mobile actor, as long as he stayed mostly still, it wasn't too noticeable, but as soon as he wen't anywhere, a line of painted light followed him, waiting for him to slow down.
Regardless, Flair did what he always did when faced with something horrible and/or disconcerting. He closed his eyes, took a deep breath and focused at the situation at hand. He turned to Winter. "Okay. Winter, if you would, get Maeni cleaned up, making sure to note any unaccounted for injuries or signs of further mental strain. You're the professional here, so I will leave it to you. Brother Jaume, stay here in case she needs more water. I'm going to go down and see what I can do to help the sick patients on the lower floor. When you're done here, Winter, I'd appreciate your help dealing with them. Jaume, when she finishes, take Dorn and the two of you should escort Maeni to the work room to the west of here to wait out the quarantine. As far as the patients, however, Jens may also prove helpful, so send him down as soon as it's convenient, as well."
And with that, he went to the stairs, happy to do something to help rather than worry about what this ocular metamorphosis may portend.Last edited by digiman619; 2020-01-21 at 12:48 PM.
