"(Orcish) What about an alchemist? Alchemists can make explosives."

[Diachronos]

(Orcish) "That would definitely work. But I don't know any alchemists..."

[NeoSeraphi]

Taylor looks uncomfortable. "(Orcish) Um...well, I know an alchemist but you might not like him very much..."

[Diachronos]

Marcy tilts her head. (Orcish) "Why, what's wrong with him?"

[NeoSeraphi]

Taylor winces awkwardly. "(Orcish) Nothing's wrong with him, he's just...my ex." he mumbles.

[Diachronos]

(Orcish) "Oh... um... we can look for another alchemist if you want."

[NeoSeraphi]

Taylor looks at Marcy worriedly. "(Orcish) It doesn't bother you that I was dating someone else before, does it?"

"Someone else". So he's saying that he is dating her now.

[Diachronos]

Marcy blushes. (Orcish) "W-why would I be upset? You were allowed to have a life before you met me, weren't you?"

[NeoSeraphi]

Taylor smiles. "(Orcish) Great. Then we can ask him for help if you want."

[Diachronos]

(Orcish) "Let's ask him, then."

[NeoSeraphi]

"(Orcish) Sure. So, did you need something?" he asks her.

Right, she had come over here to invite him to dinner.

[Diachronos]

(Orcish) "Oh, right. I was wondering if... you wanted to come to dinner tonight."

[NeoSeraphi]

Taylor blinks. "(Orcish) Oh. I would definitely like to do that. I hope Timaeus won't mind the intrusion."

[Diachronos]

(Orcish) "If he did, I think he would've said something when it came up earlier."

[NeoSeraphi]

Taylor smiles and goes to speak to his dad. After a few moments, he returns and nods. "(Orcish) I would be glad to go with you."

The group eats dinner quietly and enjoys their evening. Marcy is surrounded by people who care about her, and her mind is focused. No longer does she have to fear that Timaeus might die or worse before she reaches him. Now she can fight back.

In the morning, Marcy thinks about her options. She can go scout the nearby village they want to attack. She can track down this alchemist and ask about explosives. She can try to find some better gear for her group.

Marcy's first order of business is to find better equipment for her group. Having allies and information won't do any good if they're stuck using basic weapons and armor against stronger foes.

[NeoSeraphi]

Marcy heads to the blacksmith shop. When she arrives, she finds a pair of tieflings rushing around stockpiling as many weapons as they can. Ammunition is in a pile on the ground, as one of the tieflings pulls rifles from the wall, loads them, and sets them down carefully. There must be at least forty guns being loaded, maybe more.

[Diachronos]

Marcy hesitates for a moment before raising her hand to get the tieflings' attention. "Um... excuse me..."

[NeoSeraphi]

The pair stop and look over at her.

"Yes? Can we help you?" the one on the left asks.

[Diachronos]

"Yes, I was hoping to look into getting new gear for myself and my companions..."

[NeoSeraphi]

The tieflings glance at each other, before looking at Marcy suspiciously. "...Do you have any money?"

[Diachronos]

"Um..." She digs into her pockets and pulls out the small amount of coin she's looted from the Milantis soldiers, as well as their spare weapons. "I don't have much money, but I've got a few things I can trade, if that makes any difference."

[NeoSeraphi]

The tieflings look everything over, and nod. "Well, for this much we can spare you one rifle and twenty bullets."

That's not nearly enough for what she needs. She might have to try something else.

[Diachronos]

"Isn't there anything else I can do? Maybe some kind of work you need done?"

[NeoSeraphi]

The tieflings consider that for a moment. "Very well. If you want to recover some of the weapons we lost in a raid on the way to town, you can have those for free. Some Milantine soldiers nabbed them from us on the way from Cheshire."

[Diachronos]

"Alright. Do you know where they might be storing the weapons?"

[NeoSeraphi]

"There's an outpost not too far from the city, maybe two hours? It's hidden, which means there aren't many people guarding it."

[Diachronos]

"Alright. I'll see what I can recover from the outpost."

[NeoSeraphi]

That's one objective figured out. Now what will she do?

[Diachronos]

Marcy heads to find Taylor so they can seek out the alchemist he'd mentioned.
