Marcy hands the axe to Taylor, retrieves her halberd, and looks around for any signs of more soldiers approaching.

It looks like they're alone in the clearing for now.

The group behind them catches up.

"Are you two alright?" Kerry asks, looking at Marcy worriedly.

[Diachronos]

"Yeah... a bit banged up, but we're alive at least." She searches the dwarves for anything that they could salvage.

[NeoSeraphi]

Laura smiles as Marcy picks up the bow.

She also finds some arrows and a quiver, an earthbreaker, three hide armors, six gp, a waterskin, and two potions.

[Diachronos]

Marcy gives the armor to Grayson, Taylor, and Laura, and hands the weapons over to them. That just leaves the waterskin and potions, which she keeps on her belt for now.

The three of them outfit themselves, though Taylor looks uncomfortable.

Kerry walks forward. "Would you like me to try and identify those potions?"

[Diachronos]

"Yes, that would be a huge help if you could."

She approaches Taylor. "Does the armor fit alright?"

[NeoSeraphi]

Taylor shakes his head. "Heavy."

Kerry takes a look at the potions.

"Thanks, Kerry. Taylor, we'll see about getting you some more comfortable armor as soon as we can, okay?"

The half-orc nods and follows the group along.

Taylor will take a -3 penalty on his attack rolls until he changes armor because of non-proficiency

Laura approaches Marcy as they walk. "You seemed upset earlier. Is there something you want to share with me?"

"...my brother was on the front lines when Milantis broke through. Right now I don't know where he is or if he's okay..."

[NeoSeraphi]

Laura closes her eyes. "That's...I'm sorry to hear it. But, I have good news for you. When we return to the capital, I can use a special spell to find out if your brother is in good health."

[Diachronos]

"R-really? Will it tell you where he is?"

[NeoSeraphi]

Laura winces. "No, but...you can at least find out if he still lives."

[Diachronos]

Marcy's hopes sink a little, but she forces a smile. "I guess that would be enough of a relief. For me and for Kerry."

[NeoSeraphi]

The group travels a few more hours before they need to stop for the night.

Marcy decides to check on Kerry l.

[NeoSeraphi]

Kerry smiles as Marcy approaches. "I was kinda scared earlier when you hit Fenris. I know he upset you but...we aren't going to start killing prisoners, are we?"

She looks upset, but her face says she knows Marcy will do the right thing.

[Diachronos]

"No, we're not. I let my emotions get the better of me back there..."

[NeoSeraphi]

Kerry smiles with relief. "Good. I knew I could count on you."

She fiddles with something on her hand, and Marcy realizes it's an engagement ring.

"I. . .you know, I only ever told Timaeus 'I love you' once. The night he proposed. I was really shy with him. I held back my true feelings because I was afraid he would leave me if he knew how much I cared about him. But he saw it anyway. He knew how I felt and that's why he asked me to marry him. I. . .I was such an idiot! Oh, Marcy! I need to find him! I need to tell him how much he really means to me!"

Marcy pulls Kerry into a tight hug. "We'll find him. Don't worry."

[NeoSeraphi]

Kerry grasps her shirt and squeezes. "I believe you."

She sits back and wipes her eyes. "I-I'm being selfish. You must be hurting even more than me right now."

[Diachronos]

Marcy shakes her head. "I am, but you're not being selfish. He's your fiance, you have the right to feel upset that he's missing.

[NeoSeraphi]

Kerry sniffs and tries to change the subject. "What do you think that woman from Cheshire is going to do when all these soldiers on the road don't end up in the town?"

[Diachronos]

"Probably send out more troops to look for us, I'm guessing."

[NeoSeraphi]

Kerry nods. "I hope the towns we visit and leave behind will be okay..."

[Diachronos]

"Me too..."

[NeoSeraphi]

They make camp, have dinner and rest.

In the morning, the group heads out once more, looking to find the new town of Rimani.

When they arrive in the city, however, they find imperial soldiers stationed all over the place.

[Diachronos]

"You've got to be kidding me..." Marcy tries to get an idea of how many soldiers there are to deal with.
