It's also the reason why I like to refer to Amun-Zora, Ian, and Gannji's team of random people united by hatred of Tarquin as the "Legion of Doom".

Ok, so this one's really obvious in retrospect, but in Start of Darkness,
    Spoiler: Start of Darkness
    Show
professor Xavion, the first and short-lived teacher of Xykon is a direct parody of Professor X from Marvel comics. Professor X is also a teacher of superheroes who has some magical powers himself, he's in a wheelchair, and he's also called Xavier, a cool name with an X. Professor X knows that people are jealous and hateful of mutants with superpowers, which is just what Xavion says in his speech. Also, Professor X has got his superpowers from being a science genius, not from being a mutant like his students, just like Xavion.

"Red-eye" is not a particularly appropriate name to call Redcloak. Presumably it represents a mish-mash of "Redcloak" and "Wrong-eye" and represents an agitated state of mind.

I assumed it was just a throwaway line. I don't think it'll come up again because Qarr works for the IFCC now and not his former supervisors.

I don't recall ever hearing about any reference but that can also be because everyone gets it.

To me that has always been one of those eastereggs that the world has more stories than the one we are watching.

Ofc ours is the most important one, but for the PCs of all those other stories theirs is.

Same reason Tarquin thinks Elan's quest is just villain-of-the-week sort of.

Rereading through some of those, that on page 632 the Fiends are “singing” a parody of “War, what is it good for”, and answer their question! “Blood war, who is it good for? ; Good gods y’all!”

So they’re trying to start a blood war amongst the good gods, whatever that means!

I think the reference is actually that the Blood War itself is benefiting the good gods because it keeps the various branches of the nether regions focused on each other instead of the upper planes.

I am sure that other people have mentioned this before, but I only know about it because my 9 year old daughter pointed it out over lunch. In 50 baby Nale has the beginnings of a goatee.

Also came up over the same meal: Emperor Nero used Christians as candles at parties (source Horrible Histories). This is referred to in 759.

In the 9th panel of 374, you can see a tiny far away flying figure while Miko falls to the ground. I assume this is Sabine flying towards Azure city.
