Stupid avatar question

Hi all,

Sorry for a question that may be stupid, but how do I choose a new avatar?

I had an awesome custom one, which died. I want to select a new one, but I don't know how to do it. I've looked, but can't find it.

Go to Settings -> General Settings -> scroll all the way to the bottom.

Can you post the address?

My initial guess is that it is hosted somewhere that no longer allows hot linking, so you'll have to move it to a new service, but I'd need the address to verify.

I use tinypic.com myself, and has worked out ok for the last few years since I last had to change due to something similar. Won't last forever, but that'll be a problem for another day.

If you go to your address (you may have to refresh once or twice to be let through), you end up seeing your avatar. Download it to your local machine, then go to tinypic.com and upload it there (it doesn't even require you to create an account, IIRC). You will get a new address that you can plug into the custom avatar field.
