Heading down the hallway, you come to a door at the end of it. Unfortunately, it's locked with a rather high-end lock; it'd take a DC 30 Disable Device check to get through it.

Akaash looks at Goma, "Well, hardly time to start being quiet now, right?"

"I'll see what I can do. Historically this hasn't ended well for me or my shoulder."

That said, Goma steps back and charges the door shield first.

The Water Prince says, "Y'know, I could just pick it."

While picking the door was less bombastic than Goma or Akaash's solutions, it was nonetheless effective. The room is decorated with lavish silk wall hangings, a circular multi-colored carpet, and numerous incense burners. A gold plated sarcophagus decorated with numerous hieroglyphs sitsin the center of the room.

Well, you've opened the room, what are you gonna do with it? The room is 40 x 30, but I'm not going to add the map until it's relevant.

Akaash eyes the room warily, "Empty? Can't be. Keep your eyes open." He makes a quick pass through the room, floating to the far end, going well over the sarcophagus.

Goma eyes the sarcophagus suspiciously. "Khwaja, I think this might be your wheel house. I made a lot of noise so I'll watch our flank in case anyone comes from the around the corner."

"I think we can come back for 'exploration.' Let's focus on why we're really here, and make haste our friend."

"Wait." Alssariq said, realization hitting him like a brick. "Remember what the guard said, about the leader here? That he was 'like a mummy, but not'?"

Enhancement: No creature you see has any temporary bonuses atm.
Fate-Loyalties: The only people you see are your teammates and you already know their loyalties
Fate-Fate: The only people you see are your teammates and none of them are mystically tied to alignment
Fate-Alignment:While there is a stone lid of the sarcophagus, it's not thick enough to prevent you from reading the moderate Lawful and Evil auras in there.
Life: The only living beings you can sense within range are your teammates
Mind: No one is currently under a charm, compulsion, possession, or mind sphere effect.

You could also spend 1 SP to gain lifesense or 2 SP to gain thoughtsense, but I don't include those in your "Let me scan the area" divinations due to the cost.

"Within that sarcophagus lies a soul of tyranny." Malak said, ""And that soul is past living, but not yet at death"

Akaash frowns, "It seems content to lie there for the moment, but it would likely be easier to seize the moment and end the thing before it comes out on its own terms."

"If it's a tyrannical undead then I don't see why we wouldn't take it down now. If nothing else I don't want it to flank us later on." Goma says from the doorway.

"Soooo...." Rowan says looking to the group, "Should I burn it then?"

Akaash nods, "Seems the safest course. Goma, care to do the honors of opening it?" He shifts to take position to strike at the contents when able.

"Gladly." Goma says as he moves into position to fling the lid aside.

Anssariq readies his blade behind Goma.

As soon as Goma touches the lid, it bursts off and the mummy strikes, slamming its linnen fists against him for 15 damage! How will you respond?

Everyone make a DC 16 Will save or be paralyzed for (1d4)[2] rounds. Goma, make a Fort save

Goma yipes in shock before turning it into a shout. He brings his shield down on the bandaged brigand.

The undead's gaze passes over Rowan, and he feels a chill up his spine. It wasn't until Goma's curses over being smacked that Rowan shock off his paralysis and started chanting a spell. "Let's see how dry linen burns!" Rowan cries as he unleashes a terrible bolt of blistering heat at the undead.

Rowan's fire engulfed the mummy, wreathing it in flames. Within seconds, all that remained was a pile of ash; turns out that while the mummification process removing all the bodily liquids does wonders in preventing rot, it doesn't do much to protect if from pyrokinetic outbursts.

With it no more, what's the plan?

"That went better than I expected." Goma says as he brushes ash out of his fur. "The other way down the hall it is then."

Goma leads on to the stairs.

Khwaja Malak, the Water Prince, Shahrazad, and Aziz all look up from their impromptu senet game to see that something happened. Realizing it's time to move along, they put the game away.

Alssariq nodded, having not even moved from where he was standing behind Goma.

Heading back out, you see two branching paths. Down the hall you see a closed door and the hallway also branches to the east.

Which way will you go?
