Kaladan files into the middle of the group, but can't help but keep occasionally glancing over his shoulder every so often. Arrows have a way of inspiring paranoia like that.

"There's collapsed stonework to the right..." Silence whispers. "Maybe we should go left first? Unless we want to try the door?"

The door is solid and imposing, so Kal just shrugs and leads the party along the leftward path. Fortunately, the corridor doubles in width after the turn, stretching on until it turns back around to the right. Three doors exist along the way. The closest is dark, with none of the strange torches nearby it. It is closed. The second door is open, and from within you can see light, and a hint of smoke. The last door is at the end of the hallway, directly ahead. Something's off about it, but this far away, you can't tell. There are several places along the floor and walls that are cracked, exposing broken cogs and jammed machinery. None of it looks in working condition.

Is there a keyhole in the door that's open a crack? Failing that, is the crack wide enough to see through without opening it further?

Only the second door is open at all, but its open all the way.

EDIT: and the door opens inward, so you don't need to walk around it to see inside.

Kaladan looks over the exposed cogs and machinery, curious as to what purpose they might have held while they functioned.

I assume an INT roll would be applicable here? Maybe investigation? (1d20+2)[22]

As Kaladan studies the machinery, things start to click into place. Broken spear shafts, wreckage of what appear to be crossbows. Traps. The hallway was covered in traps.

"The bandits wouldn't have destroyed these traps would they?" Silence whispers. "The rational way to do this, if you're planning to live behind the traps you need to thwart, would be to disarm or slip past them so that you can use them yourself. Unless they didn't have the skill... or the traps were destroyed before the bandits got here."

"I'd have almost thought that someone else had gotten here first...except that that would have required them to get past the door guards."

Silence looks over the traps, just in case, to see if any still work and need disarming. (1d20+3)[10]

Silence looks over the traps, realizes he's probably safe, and walks through to the open door. He looks through it with one eye, to make the shape of his head less obvious.

(1d20+7)[13] to Hide, if anyone's watching the door.

Edit: The dice do not like me today.

    Percerption (1d20)[10]

Looking inside, Silence sees most of the room, as the door turns out to half been against the room's left wall. It is moderately sized, and appears to be some sort of larder, with crates, large jugs, and other foodstuffs piled across the floor. In the back, they are more orderly, but closest to where you are is just a tangle of clay pots. Directly across from the door, at the back, is the source of the light. A burly half-orc in a stained leather apron holds a lantern over a workstation. Another figure is bent over it, manipulating something you can't make out from the distance. His clothing is similar to the other bandits, and he wears an elaborately fancy hat, decorated with purple scarves and claws from some sort of beast.

    The half-orc doesn't notice you.

How big does the thing I can't make out look? Is there any reason it couldn't be a mostly-finished guard drake?

It's on a countertop, and is roughly the size of a rotisserie chicken.

Can I see what they're manipulating the thing with? Are they using cooking knives?

Could they, in fact, be preparing a rotisserie chicken?

Some sort of knife or other blade is involved, but there's not enough to tell if they're preparing food or not.

Silence turns back to the rest of the group and whispers. "There's two guys in there. Not sure what they're doing. They... might be making food?"
