You too! Today is the first day I have had a steady girlfriend on Valentine's Day, pretty stoked despite the whole poverty thing.

Eh, more of a call back. I don't actually mind people mentioning it's Valentine's Day that much, unless they're doing it consistently (like somebody was at work), it's just it has this unfortunate tendency to variety people to thrust their plans and their relationships into my face. It means that come evening I always feel lonely and miserable (speaking of which, I'm expecting it in about an hour, sooner if my friend gets back to me).

EDIT: to be clear, the 'go away' was more directed at VD than Bartmanhomer.

Well it sounds better than mine, the closest I got to any Valentines stuff was... nothing. I mean the girl I asked out months ago was happy to see me, but she always is these days.

I'm pretty sure you'll find someone in your life or she'll find you. Don't give up.

Conversely, I think there are several someones for everyone out there. Plus, if it makes you feel any better, I didn't get a girlfriend until I was 27.

I got fat after getting married and my ring no longer fits, so I haven't worn it in quite a while. It's very ornate, so resizing it isn't really possible. So my wife got me this very elegant white gold rope chain so I can still wear it, even if not on my hand.

I do still plan on losing weight, but that was a delightful gesture.

I mean... did you do anything? It's entirely possible to just hope that life/other people will relieve you of the burden of taking the initiative, but that's usually just a recipe for disappointment. You seem bummed that nothing really happened for you (nothing wrong with that) but it also seems like you didn't do anything to change that.

As someone who has been in a few retail position, I am often (bitterly) amused by those customers that sympathise with how bad the job is. I say this because they are often terrible customers.
