[IC] Cayden's Cheerful Company; Chapter 1: Carnival of Tears

The sight of the crazed carnival-goers inhaling their mystery meat pies with such gusto made Kouran almost sicker than the thought of what had gone into the grinder. He knew by now not to try to reach them, or reason with them—in that moment he was at a loss for anything clever or inspiring to say anyways—and drew his sword as he moved around to the side. He couldn't begin to guess what fresh horror might come spewing from that machine but he wasn't about to stand in front of it, and if the pig-man decided to keep it aimed at him at least it might not hit anyone else.

[Spore]

The pig man does a hearty belly-laugh Now are you fat-shaming me? Honestly you could use a bit of meat. Goat is delicious if prepared right. He turns to Drastia. And rather eat your friends, the animals? Including the tiny birds, and the he sounds insulted pork?

He sees Kouran advance. Oh. You want a fill first? Well then! Piping hot liquified entrails pour in your face. Even Sparky recoils from that. You're just glad your god protects you from earthly diseases.

Drastia claps her hands, and a Storm Burst envelopes a nearby Gremlin.

Therin stood there for a moment, looking over all of the chaos, the grease over the floor and the grinders. A thought occurred to him, as he stumbled, putting a hand against his mouth. "You fiends." standing up straight again, he points his stick at the pigman. "You stand before this court, charged with crimes against booze and merrimaking. You've been found guilty in the court of the tavern, In the name of Cayden, your crimes come to an end this day."

He goes into moving closer to keep an eye on the imps to they don't swarm the casters.

[Spore]

The pair of gremlins jump forwards but rather than attack, they present to you, Therin, a tasty tasty pie. You feel hungry as you see it. One presents it to you, the other one rubs its tummy to tell this is really tasty. You swear you can see a few pieces of cooked dough hang out of its mouth.

Kouran advanced slowly towards the chef, careful not to slip on the grease as he wiped the splattered stew from his face and drew a dagger from one of the scabbards on his belt. "If that's the best you can do, you're in serious trouble, swine!"

"Well gee, I like pie." Therin says to drop his weapons and start eating the offered pie.

The gremlin hit by Drastia's Stormburst fights wildly with its angry stormcloud until the cloud leaves.

Kouran approaches the swinomancer and throws a knife at him that embeds in his shoulder. NO RUNNING WITH KNIFES IN THE KITCHEN! I shall teach you manners, YOUNG MAN! As he speaks the final words, you feel a magical tingle pull at your insides, slowly trying to reduce your size to that of a kid.

As an act of defiance the swinomancer jumps on top of the bakery stand and flails his rolling pin at you menacingly.

Clover drew his longsword as he moved in closer, altough it seemed one of his allies was currently occupied.

"Oi, Therin! Got no time for that now!" he called. Extending his finger, he focused on the pie, before drawing back into a beckoning motion, attempting to compel the pie to his hand.

"What do you think you're doing to my friend?!" Drastia shouts as she fires an arrow at the grandstanding Swine.

While Therin resists parting with his gifted pie, the magic soon wears off. Therin suddenly realises he has a tasty pie in hand. However a foul stench wafts around his nose as he sees the insides of the pie crawling with vermin, digging through the flesh.

Drastia's arrow flies true, and it is accompanied with lightning. The smell of ozone fills the air. The gremlin is hit square in the chest and tumbles back a bit realizing it has a big gaping hole in its chest. It is angry and attacks with a kettle chain adorned with spikes, swinging it at Therin, missing wildly. The other gremlin steps a bit back. It jumps up and down and yells: Kill the elf, goat. We will feast on her!

"You're not the first fat swine to threaten me with a blade," Kouran growled, "and you won't be the last! Let's show him, Sparks!" Kouran signaled the Cayhound to aid him as he thrust with his rapier.

What are you going to do doggy, bite me? the cook taunts before getting bitten and dragged to the ground. Kouran thrusts into the big sow and makes him squeal. Ow, ow, ow. You are brutes!

Therin felt ill, damned casters, He grabbed his spare tankard on his hip and moved to flank the imp before something whelled up inside of him the pie and a large amount of the ale coming spewing back up as he vomits on the beastie.

He puked on me! the gremlin screams. It then proceeds to lick the vomit off its face. Delish. The ale on this carnival is decent, I say. Maybe your innards taste as good. It then proceeds to hook the spiked kettle chain in your gut and rips small wound for 4 damage and ruins your leather jerkin.

The other Gremlin engages Sparky. Its chain entangles the dog's leg dealing 7 damage. The dog yelps and growls at the gremlin.

Clover stared at Drastia for a moment, brandishing his sword in one hand and the pie in the other, but turns back to the gremlin and answers with a curt, "Nah, don't think I will!"

He drops the pie, having considered throwing it as a joke but deciding against it, the fumes having already made him queasy. He brandishes his blade again, grabs the pommel with his other hand and starts humming a little ditty to soothe his nerves, before leaping at the little monster. The sound of his hooves muffled by the snow, he steps in close and whispers, "Dance with me, won't you?" before delivering a powerful chop, humming his tune all the while.

Clover's gonna focus his Stare on the not puked on gremlin, which I believe is the one that attempted to charm him earlier. He's then going to move in and Power Attack, modified by Furious Focus to ignore the attack penalty

The gremlin almost dances with Clover indeed, nearly jumping onto his blade in the process. You chop in its side almost cleaving him in twain but the gremlin grabs its innards and pushes them back inside. Drastia, in fear of hittin Kouran, misses her shot.

Drastia misses, Clover hits, one gremlin is heavy wounded, the other one is dirty and annoyed.

The boar wizard squeals for help which does not come. Your reputation precedes you as you see brownies, grigs and gremlins all around you run in fear. He jumps back down the counter and becomes invisible.

Therin brings down his goblet onto the creature, muttering at the burns.

"Oh no no no, I can't let you get away that easily!" Clover calls to the gremlin, as his long hoofed legs allow him to easily catch up to the monster and deliver a mean carving slice.

The gremlins are sufficiently distracted by looking for "master" to flee towards, Drastia quickly nicks one in the neck. Its body convulses from the electricity but the arrow piercing its skull makes the gremlin ultimatively fall over in the most bizarre way possible, cramping and bleeding. As the arrow overtakes Clover, the satyr uses his powerful hind legs to quickly follow the other gremlin. Seemingly hypnotized by the quick movement, the gremlin instead of ducking, just kind of stands there and takes the hit. You lob its head off, and in a way, the rolling head still stares at you, all the way until it rolls back into the pie tent.

Hohoh, new meat. *huargh* you hear the swinomancer shout, followed up by a garbled sound that sounds like a magical incantation halfway broken up by vomiting. This voice also moves away quickly.

"Hmm, so this is what it feels like..." Clover mutters to himself, baring his sword before him but taking no action yet.

[Triskavanski]

Therin looks around for a bit, before picking up the gremlin's body that forced the pie on him through magic, and goes to throw it into the oven. "We should probably go after the lardo."

[Athaleon]

"Tough bastard, that swine. Think you can track him down again, Sparky?" Kouran asked encouragingly.
