Re: Maacain Invasion: Ross Dattar's Group II
Initiative - (1d20+1)[4]
Mentos
"And you can call me... Narrasillus! YAH!"
Mentos turns invisible, and the cart turns towards the nearest opening, and rockets off - hopefully with everyone inside.

WAAAAGH! Marcus yells, as the cart blasts off. Barely clinging to his seat, he uses Prestidigitation to turn the cart red.

Re: Maacain Invasion: Ross Dattar's Group II
The faces of the three go white as sheets.
"Narrassillus!?" Says one.
"HE HAS THE SWORD! CAPTURE THAT KOBOLD, NO, KILL HIM!!!"
Begin combat.
One of the warmages spins their staff and then points it towards the cart.
"Rise up from the dark and bind him, BLACK TENTACLES!" shouts the warmage, and the staff glows.
A field of rubbery tentacles erupt from the ground and tangle themselves into the wheels of the cart, halting it's progress rather abruptly.Thank you good sir Necromimesis for the amazing avatar.

Re: Maacain Invasion: Ross Dattar's Group II
SpoilerI guess the invisibility and activation of the cart doesn't happen then?
Side note: The seventh Dragonblood Sorcerer level granted Bless for 1st, Fog Cloud and Resist Energy for second, and Fly for third.
Mentos
"Can't catch me, I'm the gingerbread man!" laughs Mentos, who pauses as the expected rocketing off doesn't happen, and looks at Marcus.
"Ooh, those black tentacles look kinda menacing. Can you do something about them?" asks Mentos, turning towards the warmage with the staff.
"That was very mean of you. Now we've gotta fix the cart!" he complains, and flings a tiny vial that should fly less than ten feet over a hundred feet at the warmage with the staff.
"Rise up from his stomach and be free, HIS LUNCH!" he counters, as the vial spirals into his face and shatters, producing a huge nauseating cloud that only those who succeed on a metaphysical test of fortitude worth '21' points in an arbitrary form of measurement can resist.Last edited by pingcode20; 2007-10-30 at 05:29 AM.

Re: Maacain Invasion: Ross Dattar's Group II
SpoilerActivating the cart is a free action that you can perform at any time, including during other's turns. The Warmage had initiative so though you did encase the cart in adamantium, it was still being held down by the tentacles. As for the invisibility, it happens at initiative 4.Thank you good sir Necromimesis for the amazing avatar.

Re: Maacain Invasion: Ross Dattar's Group II
Marcus looks around to see if anyone is not on the cart.
If so, he will attempt to Flee the Scene out of the cart, hold hands with as many of them as possible, and bring them in via FtS.
The image of Marcus on the cart comments
Oh, tentacles. Wonder which kind they are?
If not, Marcus will delay his action until an enemy comes close enough to blast/cast a spell on.Last edited by Solo; 2007-10-30 at 01:33 PM.

Ferah
Blood in the Water at +0
Narrassillus. Veryn had broken off from the group to attempt to steal it. Apparently, he had succeeded. Did he still live?
"Do we actually have that accursed sword?!
Doc, Mark, Lid, if the mages try to cast anything further, shoot them. Joe, do what you do best. If Rottiks comes to fight me, feel free to concentrate on him, I would rather not have to fight another losing battle."
Ferah looks between the priority targets for a moment, deciding which to strike at first, then gives the longsword she was holding a mighty heave, sending it whirling through the air at her target.
SpoilerDoc, Mark, and Lid ready actions to shoot at the warmages if they do anything that looks like spellcasting. Joe will fling a stick of boomy fun at whichever mass of troops is largest.
doc - (1d20+3)[18] (2d6)[8]
mark - (1d20+6)[13] (2d6)[5]

(this should be Joe)doc - (1d20+4)[11] (1d6+1)[3] you know the drill, aimed at maximize enemy casualties.
As for my action, its a touch complicated. If EITHER of the warmages happen to be floating/flying a fair amount above the nearest solid surface, I am going to hit them with a disarming strike, in the hopes of making them drop their precious stick. Otherwise, my strike will go to Anti-Ferah, to make him drop a kukri. Either way, move action to pick up a fresh longsword afterwards (how many of those did we get from the soldiers, anyway?)
attack - (1d20+11)[30] (1d8+3)[8] opposeddisarm - (1d20+11)[28] Crit confirm/damage (23/7)(+1 rolls to all rolls if within 30')

Re: Maacain Invasion: Ross Dattar's Group II
Ritticks has yet to even draw his weapons, so Ferah's attack goes at the Red Warmage, who sure enough has his spiraling double staff knocked free from his hands as it falls to the ground below. The warmage who still has his staff is suddenly taken aback a cloud of noxiously minty fumes envelope his form. Then...
They get shot.
Marcus moves the group around.
((Yes you can Karsh))
As everyone is moving around, preparing for battle, Ritticks leaps down and stands before Ferah, drawing three of his weapons.
"Good to see you Ferah... You FRIEND broke my weapon last fight... so I suppose I'm lucky..." He draws the final blade... THE Tiger Fang, "That I kept THIS in reserve..."
With that, he enters blood in the water stance, and prepares for you to move.Last edited by Talfrey; 2007-10-30 at 08:21 PM.

Re: Maacain Invasion: Ross Dattar's Group II
Ferah, if we can make him distracted somehow, I will be able to target vital parts of his body, and bring him down faster. Marcus swiftly advises, as he hunkers down in the cart.
Again, Marcus casts a Baleful Utterance this time on Ricketts' pants.
If Ricketts has no pants, then Marcus targets one of the non-special daggers he holds.

Mentos
Mentos unshoulders Coolmint, and waves a hand over it while pointing it at the freshly disarmed Ritticks, before relaxing Coolmint and letting it fall to his side while he sits down.
A force crossbow forms itself on one side of the cart, pointing at Ritticks.
"Ah, the humble crossbow. So simple to use," The crossbow fires a force bolt at Ritticks. "And so painful. Kobolds have used this little contraption for countless generations, and with good reason."
The crossbow fires again.
"Sure, a longbow's a bit faster, but it takes years to learn. Crossbow, you just point," The crossbow shoots again. "And shoot."

Re: Maacain Invasion: Ross Dattar's Group II
Kurak breaks into song and dance.
Then, the soldiers begin to launch arrows into the fray...
While both warmages extend their arms toward the battle...
And unleash a fireball each. The fire washes over Ritticks with no effect, despite the fact that others attack him, he attacks with his onslaught attack once more.
SpoilerI want to roll the rolls outside of the boards for my own ease...
In the end, Five of the eight flying blades slash open Ferah's Chitin for a total of 23 damage.
Most of the arrows miss, but Kurak takes a 12, Mentos takes 8, And unfortunately most of the goblins go down again 'cept for Mark. Karsh takes 19, and Marcus takes 14. They don't aim arrows toward Ferah and Ritticks.
The fireballs have a save of 17 each

This fight was not going to end well if they stayed put. It was time to run.
"Get everyone on the wagon!"
With one last glare at Ritticks, Ferah pushed off the ground into a powerful leap, sending her sailing towards the wagon... and the mass of tentacles. For a moment she sinks into the writhing mass, making no outward effort of fighting them... and suddenly they were gone, leaving the wagon free to move. Ferah promptly boarded the wagon, keeping her eyes on the army, particularly the leaders.

Re: Maacain Invasion: Ross Dattar's Group II
As the hellish flames consume the form of the tiny kobold... a thunder echoes across the sky.
The kobold opens his eyes...
Death for him is cool and crisp, with a minty after taste. He stands in an endless field of mint, freshly frosted by a light snow.
"Now is not your time." comes a voice from behind him. The world spins and he stands facing an enormous white dragon. But... not a "White Dragon" just a dragon who happens to be white. The beast leans close and breaths out a blue green breath which smells what would be overwhelmingly of mint to any other...
And Mentos feels a heart beat in his chest, but this time, it is far more powerful, far more full and vibrant... as though it were the heart of an actual dragon.
Mentos gains [Heart of the Mint Dragon]
Heart of the Mint Dragon
+20 to base HP
+10 to Frost Resistance
+1 to base Natural AC
1/day, may use Breath of the Mint Dragon, at a manifester level equal to character level.
"Return to the world... good luck... and... try not to die again."
Suddenly, Mentos stands back up as though completely fine, his body free of all previous injuries.
The nauseated warmage suddenly vomits, and in the process falls off his perch, into his freshly spewn bile, and lands with a painful crunch on the ground next to the fallen staff.
((All of you are within a standard move of the cart, the staff is thirty feet north of the cart. NoDot, you are out of the blast, and he cast defensively.))
The second warmage cries, "BROTHER!" and dives after the first warmage, casting flight as he dives.
Rittcks signals his men to attack the cart and throws back his head as he laughs, the calls after Ferah.
"YOU HAVE SEEN NOTHING FERAH!!! With AMRIEN'S GIFTS...." He draws forth another THREE Tiger Claws... then throws back his head and laughs maniacally as his troops swarm past after the cart.Last edited by Talfrey; 2007-11-02 at 03:01 AM.

Mentos
Mentos coughs, and climbs slowly to his feet as Marcus' magic takes effect, rubbing a nasty bump on his head. He seems miraculously lacking in internal injuries, though.
"Ow. Remind me that adamantine walls hurt."
Although he still feels a bit woozy from his death experience (and subsequent discovery of the existence of Mint Dragons), he notices Ritticks pulling out three more of the legendary weapons.
"Oogh... Go'way overcompensating bug." he mutters, the patch of grass under Ritticks and the front line of his men becomes abruptly as slick as wet grass.
