For about ten seconds, even before lighting the stranger up, Orrey just stares into his face. The other man might sense that a good deal of men before him have seen this same unanimated, unamused expression mere moments before a violent death, but no such undue violence is offered. All at once Orrey is smiling again, beaming with a joviality that never climbs above his nose. Never touches those flinty eyes.

"There now," Orrey says after lighting both of them and stowing his little lighter away with a smooth motion. "Now we can talk."

Orrey falls back in his chair, leaning out of the light. He's just an unremarkable seeming silhouette with a ripped-up voice, a torn ear, and oddly broad shoulders... almost unnatural in the set of his body.

"You're speaking my language, friend, have no doubts," he goes on. "Who else is there?"
