    Self-scrubbing for reasons.

Hamar'Zam is a high-fantasy setting that puts a number of different ideas together. I think the central concept is abandoning the idea that some species are inherently evil/inferior. There's also some emphasis on order versus chaos rather than good versus evil.

This is the first world/setting I'm creating since a long absence from this hobby. I'm modifying my approach based on past experience and new research, sometimes making changes when I'm in the middle of creating. My focus is on creating a working world which the characters can step in to and inhabit. Things happen around them. If they change the course of events then those ripples can carry far.

I'm trying not to put to much detail in. I expect to respond to player input (intentional or otherwise). But I'm trying to have enough detail that world feels more real than "You open the door and see a 10 foot by 10 foot room. There's an orc sitting at a table."

The document can be read: here
That poor orc is living in a very cramped space.

The orc in a ten foot by ten foot room with a table.
Ten foot by ten foot is already not huge but with a table it is even smaller.
I guess that the orc is probably a student.

Would a setting with only that orc and the room and nothing beyond be interesting?
Maybe the orc would hallucinate people coming to his room and imagine stuff beyond his room in order to keep hope instead of thinking it is the only living creature and that everything is pointless.

MOST settings are the hallucinations of an orc sitting in a room trying to imagine it's not the only living creature and convince itself that everything isn't pointless.
