EDIT: He is loading then reading off the scroll. Yes, the one the squire is leading. He will unload that off her after they are back at the warehouse for further diagnosis. Since we are skipping of getting the acquaint part and assume that we got along at some point of the conversation, I assume Deku will say "we will continue this later or something."

The warehouse has a severely danaged door. There is a group of 12 human men, one of whom is severed wounded with infected punctures to the gut. He is also poisoned and cursed.

There are also a flind, a gnoll, a cat lady, a Fox lady, a badger lady, elephant man in mithral plate, two half dragon looking things, and a red haired human girl with an axe.

The warehouse is filled with sacks of sugar and crates of fruit.

Deku dumps unload the body (one of the transmuted human) on the ground, thanking the plant like squire. During the time of respite, he divides his time out trying to mend the door with mending spell and diagnose the body whether it is alive or dead, trying to figure out a way undo the transformation.

Tori helps mend the door by carrying the heavy boards and holding them in place while the villagers hammer them in. "Ah, new allies Deku? You didn't seem the type to make new friends."

Whether they are helping our investigation remains to be seen but I am keeping watch on him lest he has malign intentions. As long as he has a reason to be on this island, we could use another hand. After the door is repaired, he begins to shrink back down to his usual Halfling self. "Considering the rain, now might be a good time to make a plan. The leader of the group calls himself Cam. He never mentions the names of his men, and they never talk above a whisper right into an ear. They seem to do most of their "talk" with glances.

Cam relates his tell of adventure and woe. He and his brother are from Liberia, the sons of a native woman and a luckless sailor. They became orphans, in the care of local nuns.

When they were older, they left the island to seek their fortune. And they made one. The Cententurian Kystral, a small magic ship that they won in a card game. It can sail against the wind, and sail slowly even when becalmed.

They had returned to visit their home island, and make money as cargo haulers. They could sail even in the off seasons...

But, the strange clouds and drums greeted them, as did the ghost pirates of the cursed lighthouses.

There had always been ghost pirates around the cursed lighthouses, but these had been harmless spectors. "Get in ya way, ya just walk around em, or right through em. Give us a bit o chill, but harmless. Then the nuns beat ya for going round the cursed lighthouses and the owlbears.

Kwatic owlbears. They suppee-als. Ya know, they gots spines. Eat the loopus sea weed. Hardly ever caught and et us orphans...

Anyway, da pirates....now they grown bodies, and got a ship, and suck the life right outta ya.. poor Sean...

Anyway, we jumped overboard to get away from em. Harm got a rapier in the belly first though. The currents are strong there and we got pulled all over.

Then Brother Larry and his squid shows up and helps us to shore. The pirates sailed off with our ship.

It took Larry a couple trips to pull us all out. And he dropped us on the beach under the light house...where the dropbear nesting cave is.
So, we ends up running from dropbars, and Ned runs off the wrong way. We couldn't find him aftarwards, and he's got the astrolabe that controls the Kystral. He's in trouble in he went to the lighthouses, cause their both cursed.

Then Larry got back and scared off da bars and escorted us to the edge of Town. Kept yammaren on about how fair his God is, and how he accepts everyone, even if we're a high in fat, whatever that means...

But it's like that whole towns gone weird. After Larry left, We got attacked by animals and things ya never believe.

And the river's dried up. It gets low in the dry seasons, but it's never gon dry before. It can't. It's always raining somewhere in the uplands. But there it is. Bone dry.

So, we hold up here, then you lot bust in."

Does anyone heal Tori, Axe, or Flail?

Or any of the splash damage?
    .....,

The heavy rain continues long enough that you decide to shelter in place for the night.

Through the night you exchange stories and information, set a rough watch schedule with Cam's men, and tend to Harm.

In the morning the rain subsides, and you send a small team to get Osrik and Zander.
They find their backpacks (including all equipment purchased with the vouchers, the daggers and potions, and Zander's spell book) sitting on the dock. The boat is capsized, but easily salvaged and otherwise undamaged. There is no sign of Osrik, Zander, Snek, or the boy. The fishing gear is gone, and any trace of combat (or not) has been washed away by the rain.

The outing team return to the warehouse with the distressing news of the missing party members.

    ,...............

    FF:

Flail Flind has had an interesting night of dreams about counting crates of chickens and sorting them by grade and breed, and expectly brooding a clutch while snacking occasionally on cracked corn, layers' mash and the occasional scratched up cricket...

The snoring Flind is stirred to wakefulness by the sleepy clucking of a dozing chicken...or is it the other way around?

When she opens her eyes, she finds a disconcerting composite of looking down her snout as usual, while also looking down on it from above! What the BAWK!?

FF has a chicken on her head. Attached even. Looks like the same chicken. The pelvis of the chicken seems fused with her skull.

No! Samual Sanders, poultry inspector and Rhode Island Red has this nasty dog thing stuck on his butt. Her butt. Where's my nest? Is there any seed around? I really want some poultry to inspect. Poultry's my life's passion, and brooding eggs, and I'm sitting on the Sonavabitch that ate me! Daughterovabitch... Just bitch! Hey! There's a raven, let's inspect it! ....

    Curse effects:
    Curse: chicken on your head.
    Curse: composite remnant personality.

-5 to perception, stealth, and social skills.

Hard to focus focus when you also see through the eyes of a chicken that is looking around at random. And when you turn your head to focus on what the Cluckers is looking at, moving your head moves the whole chicken, and then the chicken has to refocus...and it gets in the way of aiming your hyena ears...

The chicken clucks at random. Sometimes you do too. Flaps its wings too.

And it is really hard to be taken seriously with a chicken on your head...

When you pluck a feather, you feel it in the chicken's butt, and your own, but worse. Though you are of two, or maybe 3, minds in the matter, you don't want to hurt the chicken, as it is part of you and you share minds and thoughts of harming the chicken scare it...you... Sanders...All. and any pain the chicken feels you feel twice, in the chicken body and in your own. The chicken body seems somehow to be an extension of your brain...

When you aren't paying attention you take on the chicken's mannerisms.

Chicken: roll twice and take the worse result on all checks and rolls involving fear.

Expert poultry inspector: + 5 on any check involving knowledge of poultry (domestic) and agricultural import/export law.

"Who brought in the chicken.. And.. something isn't right." the cat samurai says, as things were not adding up. She could hear the chicken.. but couldn't "see" the chicken even after taking her focus out there. "The gnoll.. has a chicken for a head. I can't heal that with a punch.. I don't even know where to begin with that."
