    The Glorious Bear Battle:

The bear, impressively angry but not tactically astute, charges at Skimbibble. It's struck by a crossbow bolt, doing little more than further enrage it - but then Skimbibble's wolf, aggressively defending it's friend, launches itself straight at the neck, trying to pull the bear over. While the bear resists the trip attempt, the wolfs fangs do a lot of damage, tearing fur and shedding blood.

The bear, in turn, swings a great paw, claws rending deeply into the flesh of the poor wolf.

    The Goblinhunt:

Chief Plink, along with his trusted lieutenants and the rest of the wolfriders, sets off in pursuit of Pipzy. They follow the same set of tracks that Skimbibble followed - but in another direction, somehow. No one would ever accuse the druid of being an inept tracker, not within earshot at least, but regardless, the hunting party soon arrives at the foot of a steep cliff with a cave opening a good 30 feet up. Nestled among large stones at the opening is Pipzy and her two compatriots. They launch a tirade of goblin curses that could shame a sea hag, or peel paint of the walls.

Seeing the cave up ahead, Hekx directs Silkwhisper to take a long route to the side, scaling the cliff a good way fr9m the cave then coming at the cave from above. He makes sure to stay out of range from any goblin weapons but isn’t to concerned about being seen.

    Dismounting (and mindfully staying between his wolf (this was meant to say keeping his wolf between himself and Pipzy's squad), Plink looks up at the opening, and waits for the tirade to wear itself down. After reminding his "posse" not to attack. and ensuring that at least two sentries are posted watching their rear, Plink tries to be reasonable;

Pipzy, you come down now, lets go home. Three goblins is not tribe, this not home.. But.. Nice finds, you did good! You mad because you smart, want to hear gobbos call Pipzy Chief.. Maybe that happen someday, but not today. Today, and for many many days, Plink is Chief! But Pipzy and her friends is smart. Not their fault they lose battle. But tribe means family. Tribe means forgive Pipzy for Chief-wanting. As long as Pipzy only does it once! He makes sure to add extra emphasis on that last bit. Pipsy gots moxie, and Plink needs advisors with big moxie, big ideas. You come down, you help Plink make tribe shiny and full. You come down now, everyone happy you come home. We strong together. Weak alone. And you three is alone here..

Oh sure.. Plink is definitely going to have an eye kept on these three. He realizes he needs to grow eyes in the back of his head to keep an eye on everyone. But he also knows that, at least in the short term, unity is strength. While it may become necessary for Pipzy to have an accident, he is open to the idea that they can reconcile. Goblin grudges don't always last long.

Plus.. She found some nice digs.. We may want to look into this place..

    At the cliffs:

Pipzy gives a pretty good speech, from her perch high up on the cliff. She adresses not Plink, but the goblins with him. She explains how it wasn't the tribe that wanted Plink as chief, it was the evil, wicked mist woman. She explains how it's not as if anyone really want's Plink as chief, not even now, they're all just afraid of Gibbs and Skog.

She goes on to proclaim how everything will be better with Pipzy as chief. How the food will be more plentiful, the goblins happier, how there will be decidedly fewer goblin-eating spiders in the caves.

    Spoiler: OOC

Her words don't fall on entirely deaf ears - some of the wolf riders mumble and grumble .. although not too loudly, because it's not untrue they're scared of Gibbs and Skog.

Upon reaching the top of the cliff Hekx dismounts and sends Silkwhisper on ahead while he follows behind.

Upon reaching the position directly above the crag, Silkwhisper will descend to get as close as possible to Plimsy from above, then throw a blob of web down at Pipsy’s position. Silkwhisper then tries to pull the pull the goblin up if the web lands.

With their attention riveted on the goblins below, neither Pipzy nor her allies notice the great big spider scuttling down the cliff above them. When the audience hoots and points in excitement, they think it's support and agreement - right until a strong web closes around Pipzy, and she's pulled up into the air, screaming Kree! Stupid Plink, not feed Pipzy to evil spider pets, Pipzy promises to be good. Promise-promise ... double-promise!

    Spiders like dat one?

Making up a title on the spot, Plink raises both his arms and his voice, turning slowly to ensure he makes momentary eye contact with all of the goblins present. Pipzy and her friends is one of us. Maybe, he adds ominously. Because they tribe, Plink wants words from the Mighty Council of Way Important Deciders to advise. Hexz, Skog, Gibs, Krog.. What says you? Pipzy is bad goblin, she try to overthrow Chief, say bad things about spider allies. But she one of us. Is she trusty still? You thinks live? Or die?

Plink assumes a posture of patient confidence, content with the knowledge that these, the wisest and strongest members of the tribe, will provide good counsel..

Hekx does not formally give an opinion, but between the salivating spider at his side, the arcane threads being manipulated to try and disable Pipzy and him hopping around as he waves a sacrificial dagger above his head, it’s clear that he would not readily advocate for clemency.

Plink waits for each of his trusted advisors to chime in, then nods decisively.

Speaking loudly enough to be heard by all, he pronounces sentence.

Pipzy cannot be trusted. She made secret pact and tried to usurp Chiefness from Plink, but I tries to forgive her. I tries to bring her back to cave, to make nice, so tribe is stronger. I tries to convince Pipzy that she smart and can help us get even more happy shiny fullness. But Pipzy is stubborn. Pipzy tries to make others turn on Plink, for second time! Pipzy will try and try, doesn't care about the rest of us, just wants her own shinies. Plink listens to wise advice of Mighty Council of Way Important Deciders.. Two says live, and two says die.. No Chief can trust Pipzy, never ever! And if no Chief can be trusting her... Plink looks to Hexz, and nods.. Then she has no place among us.

Spoiler: Depending on what happens next

If Hexz takes action and either kills her himself or allows Silkwhisper to spin her up, Plink will address her two misguided followers.

You comes down, do your sorrys, and you gets the stinky-bad chores for two moon-gones.. Then you is forgiven. This is your last chance!

If they comply immediately, all is well. If not.. We'll do something else..

While Pipzy's fate is being discussed, Silkwhisper continues to reel her in - eager to feed, and oblivious to the mindless chatter of mammals. She deftly uses a few of her many legs to haul the goblin up, sink her venomous fangs deep in the defenceless victim, and paralyze her. Then, she wraps her up in a neat little bundle, a silky white cocoon which she sticks to her belly, where it will be nice and safe, to ripen for later consumption.

Pipzy for her part objects loudly, until the poison takes effect, at which point only her desperate eyes and a bit of drool shows any further discontent with her harsh fate.

Her two compatriots - presumably wildly loyal to Plink, now the alternative has been demonstrated to be a gruesome death-by-spider - cheer and dance: Long live Chief Plink, may his reign be legendary, and blessed by the Gods!!

Well, looks like this has been wrapped up. Let’s head back.

With that Hekx descends the cliff into the cave on Silkwhisper, has a quick look around the cave to see if it could be of any use in future. Then descends the rest of the way, leaving a silk line for the other goblins to follow.

A quick check of Pipzy's cave reveals it to be fairly shallow, carved in some unknowable past by water streaming down from above. The cave ends in what was once a great underground waterfall, smooth polished stone walls ascending into the utter darkness - goblins can see in the dark, of course, but also quite vividly imagine the terrible dangers lurking just beyond their 60' darkvision.

It's possible a spider mount could carry a rider up the walls, but at present only one spider mount exists, and perhaps a custom saddle would be advisable for vertical exploration.

Back at the Three Caves, things are progressing well, industrious goblins building homes, raising crops, and unsuccesfully trying to mine the cave - maybe there simply aren't any metals to be found here.

The spiders in the Spider Cave were breeding happily, multiplying less explosively than one might imagine, due the fact that cannibalism is quite rampant among such creatures.

All in all, the situation is peaceful, which naturally should fill any goblin of sound mind with the very deepest of dread.

When the goblin arrives, Soz is overviewing the fungi production. Her magic is, for the moment, insufficient to really help with it, but she uses her expertise to help ensure a good haul. The goblin tells Soz of Skimbibble's request for her presence. I'll be right there-thanks. And you look a little frightened-take a deep breath, calm down. We're doing okay, she says with a smile.

She heads to the entrance of the cave system, and waves to Skim. What's the word?
