For a very cinematic style, you could try Blade of The Iron Throne/Riddle of Steel’s limelight system.

Basically, initiative starts with whatever character it makes sense to naturally start with, and enemies only act in the frame of a PC’s limelight. The limelight continues until a significant thing has happened, then passes to the next PC and whatever opposition is acting in his context, and so forth.

Besides being book keeping light, narrative friendly, and wiping out “wasted” turns, it also keeps combat more human. You can’t plot down to the five foot grid where everyone involved is going to be and talk about exactly what effects each part of the tactical system is going to do; you fight like hell and try to keep some sort of coordination going between the PCs who are each faced with their own personal viewpoint and problems.
