Ashwyn shudders a bit, stands, and wipes her face. She seems to have composed herself as she head over to the hunter gathering the bodies Let me help. She kneels in the sand and uses her wand to draw a circle, muttering an incantation. A yellow disk rises from the sand, about 3 feet in diameter This should... Should make it easier to carry them Ashwyn helps to move the bodies wherever they need to go

Khapya roared with victory as the last sahuagin got obliterated by her trident and then magic.
She nodded in agreement with the tiefling, and gave the female shark hunter a commerative clap on the shoulder.
"They fought bravely. A good end!" she said, for once her habitual grin absent, before she turned back to the sahuagin. She retrieved another of the tridents, and slung one of the dead fishmen over her shoulder to take back to town. The remainder of the fishmen she left on the beach for the gulls.
"Wonder why they attacked? Sure ended poorly for them, though!"
    And the far stars cried, and the planets yearned;
But no man may know, for she'll ne'er return.

The tiefling scoffs at Grey’s warning. “If there are any more fishmen, we’ll be quick to dispatch them!” Having said so, he resumes his prideful march towards the mainland.

As the floating disk rises out of the sand, the human reacts with surprise. When Ashwyn explains that it’s meant to help, she murmurs a quiet “thank you.” Ooduls, as you help Kebri and the human move the deceased onto Ashwyn’s floating disk, you can see all of the hunters have passed and can’t be revived by any normal means.

Once they are lined up side to side, arms crossed and eyes closed, the woman stands and says, “The Storm Lord guided your strikes true, and now the Wild Mother will guide you to the endless seas,” with a nod towards Kebri. Having said so, she takes Grey’s offered handkerchief, and blows her nose loudly into it. She stands straight and faces you all. “Thank you all for everything you’ve done here. If it weren’t for you, I’d be...” she lets out a cough that covers a sob. “My name is Elanza. My friend over there is Joao. We've had skirmishes with the fishmen before, but they've never attacked the town like this. If it hadn't been for the earthquake, I'm sure we would have brought them to a swift end!" She punches her hand into her fist, but it lacks the conviction that Joao displays.
"I'm going to follow him, I want to make sure everyone is okay after the quakes." Elanza begins tracing Joao's steps through the palm trees.

Kebri's eyes narrow to vertical slits, scanning against the glare on the waves. She waits for a moment on the beach, then follows Elanza.

Once Elanza is out of earshot, Grey explodes.

"What a fool!" it snarls. "Three of his people slaughtered like children, two more dead in battle; yet somehow he celebrates. In my tribe, he would be—well, never mind that now. I only hope the rest do not share his attitude."

It sighs exasperatedly, then casts a last pensive gaze across the beach and the pile of sahuagin corpses before starting back towards the mainland.

Perhaps they attacked to save their shark friends, it thinks as it walks away.

Grey only manages a few steps before it feels a rumble underfoot. It turns quizzically to Ashwyn and Velkaria.

"Did you feel that? The ground—"

Then it sees the sharks swimming around the sides of Flora Isle and the shoreline creeping up the beach.

"It's really not over. Look over there!" it hisses in fearful realization. "And we're being surrounded! Get to the bridge, quickly!"

Bolting off in the direction Kebri and Khapya went, it shouts after them. "Kebri Tor! Where are you going? The fish are sinking the island; we must leave now!"

Kebri is headed generally northeast, still kinda towards the bridge, but just via the area north of the building and next to the docks. "If there are others in trouble over here, we should help them leave, too!"

As the docks come into view, the clanging of metal begins to accent the crash of the waves. You can see three sahuagin engaged in combat with a group of sailors on one of the docks. The sailors are defending the gangplank of the large caravel that sits at dock. Although they are holding their own, they are about to be flanked by two giant crabs that are crawling out of the ocean.

Looking past the caravel, the two fishing skiffs who had been docked have both set out to sea. One is heading due north along the coast, towards the rest of the Menagerie Coast; the other has swung around to circle the island, and you can see Suza waving from the starboard side as other fishers man the rudder and trim the sails.

On the northern side of the island, approaching the mainland, the bridge has already collapsed, and Flora Isle has sunk about ten feet lower than it used to be. On this side of the bridge, the few people left have started running to the docks. Looking into the channel, a few people have started to swim across in hopes of finding safety. A dozen villagers stand on the north side of the channel, all of them calling encouragement to the six currently swimming across. But their calls turn to screams as three fast-moving sharks tear through the channel.

Ooduls hustles toward the docks to find Suza. When their eyes lock, he waves back to her in her retreating skiff with a smile at her apparent safety. He unconsciously carries the shark creature's trident.

He focuses at the creature's attacking the sailors. His smile turns into a battle grimace. He reaches back and throws a radiant lightning bolt at one of the attackers.

While she's a bit nervous about splitting away from Ooduls, Velkaria decides to take the safe choice of attacking things that can't attack her back given this is her first fight in her entire life and it's suddenly extremely lethal for many people. As such she approaches the channel a flings a bolt of water at the sharks going after the people trying to swim across.

There were three sharks, and not enough time for slay all of them before they reached the swimmers. Khpaya looked around, and saw the bloodied body of a victim of the quake half-buried beneath some rubble. With a grunt, she hauled it out, quickly pressed two fingers to its neck - no pulse? No pulse. Hoping the smell of blood from the body would distract the sharks, she quicklypulled out on of her handaxes, slitting open the stomach and hurling the corpse into the water.

The combat between on the docks is fierce and bloody. Three sailors defend the gangplank that leads to the caravel above them, and two sailors armed with crossbows are shooting at the sahuagin. The sailors get in a few sharp strikes, as well as one crossbow bolt, and you see green blood splash onto the rough wood.
The sahuagin are so busy defending themselves that they don’t notice the spray of acidic breath that flies towards them, and you hear them roar as it hits all three. One stumbles backwards, barely dodging a column of radiant flame that flies down towards him.

The group of villagers running from the bridge give a wide berth to the combat occurring in front of them, but they recognize the ship as their only form of escape. Three of them mill around nervously, not sure if they should approach, but two of them grab stones and branches and begin to hurl them at the sahuagin. Unfortunately, they go wide and splash into the water.

Of the two giant crabs crawling out of the ocean, one of them scuttles onto the dock and lunges at one of the sailors from behind. The claw closes on nothing as the sailor steps forward to press his sword into his enemy.
The other crab sees Grey charging across the sands, and scuttles forward to attempt to grab them. With quick reflexes, Grey manages to jump to the left, out of its reach.
The sahuagin, having been burnt by acid and struck with swords, rally and press back against their enemies. The two in front use their weapons to strike, and follow up with vicious bites to their opponents. The sahuagin in the back hurls their spear at one of the crossbow wielding sailors, hitting her in the shoulder. He then lashes out at one of the sailors in front of him, and you watch as the man goes limp and falls backwards onto the dock.

Seeing this, the sailors decide to cut their losses and make a break for it. The woman who was hit with a spear fires back, but with her injured shoulder her shot goes wide. The other crossbow user disengages and disappears onto the ship.
The last two sailors on the dock, a lithe sea elf and a dark-skinned human man, strike out with their swords as they retreat. However, the giant crab strikes from behind, grasping the sea elf by the thigh and preventing him from escaping. He cries out in pain, and blood spurts from the wound- he looks as if he is close to passing out. The man’s retreat is stopped short as his companion is grappled, and he strikes out at the nearest sahuagin in desperation. With blood running down his head, he also looks close to unconsciousness.

    • Finally, there is Dillyu, a green-skinned sea elf who you picked up in Port Zoon during your last stop there.
Heidi and Dajarkal were wielding crossbows, and Dajarkal was hit by a thrown spear. Kijori was the first one killed, and now Dillyu and Boerth are left, both close to death themselves.

NOTE: I only posted what happened on the docks, to give Ashwyn some more time to respond.

The sailors attacked with moderate successes, and after Kebri's acid breath strikes, you can see that one of the sahuagin is noticeably hurt, but all three are still standing and able to fight. The villagers attacked with improvised weapons, but didn't have any luck.

The sahuagin counterstrike was much deadlier, and one sailor is dead, with two more close to unconsciousness. One of them is grappled by a giant crab, blocking the path up the gangplank.

For anyone who is wondering, the initiative order goes: Sailors, PCs, Villagers, Enemies. The first round is finished, and the sailors used their turn to try and disengage; now the PCs are up again.

Casting eldritch blast at the crab at the docks (not the one that just missed), using Healing Light on the sailor that just died (assuming we're still doing the save-in-a-round thing, if not then it targets the one bleeding from his head), then moving towards the crab at the docks, getting as close at possible. Should provoke an opportunity attack from the crab I'm next to.

With a loud splash, the body thrown by Khapya lands in the water. A couple of the villagers watch in horror, having seen the body of their friend disfigured, but most are focused on the swimmers who are still alive.
A plunging blast of water flies down from Velkaria, smacking one of the sharks in the nose. Its charge is halted, and it is surrounded by a swarm of bugs and mites that begin attacking any part of it that they can reach. However, the shark dives under the water before it can be hurt.

Two of the sharks zoom towards the decoy corpse, both of them attacking fiercely as its blood blooms into the waves. This gives most of the villagers in the water time to cross. Three of them reach the opposite shore and begin climbing up the cliff face, assisted with ropes from the Palma Florans on the opposite bank. The ones who reacted negatively to Khapya's decoy look relieved, as it seems to have worked very well.
The third shark ignores the body being attacked by its allies, and zips towards the two swimmers who are left behind. You see one of the swimmers cry out in pain as he suffers a deep bite wound to the side, going limp in the creature's jaws. Next to him, Joao spins to face the shark, and raises his spear in preparation.

Two of the sharks were fooled by the decoy, but the third one bites one of the villagers into unconsciousness. All of the villagers have made it out of the water, except for two: Joao the tiefling, and the man who just got attacked by the shark.

It's now the PC's turn in Round 2; Velkaria, Grey and Kebri have gone, Ashwyn, Ooduls and Khapya still have their turn. No rush to make a post, just wanted to make sure everyone is on the same page re:initiative order. :)

Leaping forward, Kebri grabs a leg of crab in her fangs, right as it reaches out to grab Grey. Thanks to her distraction, Grey escapes the clutches of the crab once again. Turning its focus towards the creature that is biting it, it grabs Kebri by the shoulder with a predatory pinch.
It hurts like hell, and you hear a pop that might be your shoulder dislocating, but your tough scales prevent it from seriously hurting you.

The two balls of light that Grey summoned whip through the air, passing a charging Ooduls on their way. One thumps into the crab, almost knocking it off the pier. This creates an opening for Ooduls to charge in, and he buries his trident deep within the gut of the sahuagin in front of him! Letting out an involuntary groan, the sahuagin grasps the haft, and raises his arm holding a fearsome club tipped with sea urchins… but a rock hits him in the head and he falls into the water.

The villagers who had previously been keeping their distance are emboldened by Ooduls’ and Grey’s counterattack, and now four of them are throwing debris. Only one of them managed to hit their target, but that was enough. In response to Grey, one of them yells, “The bridge to the mainland is broken! We couldn’t make it across!” Another one cries, "There were still a few people at the bridge, I'll get them now!" They begin to run in the direction they originally came from.

Grey’s second bolt of light hits Boerth, the dark-skinned man on the pier, and the wound on his head stops pouring blood. At the same time, a young human with orange hair runs down the gangplank, and magic flows out of his hands into the Dillyu, the sea elf in the grip of the crab. With a burst of energy, Dillyu begins to pry its claws open, and he is yanked out of its grasp by a burly dwarf who also came down the gangplank.

The crab and one of the sahuagin try to hit him, but he manages to escape their grasp. In frustration, that sahuagin swipes at the orange-haired man, and crimson stains his sea-blue robe as he screams in surprise and pain. The docks have become slippery with seawater and blood, and as the other sahuagin attacks Ooduls with a watery growl, he slips and his spear glances off the tortle’s shell.

The half-orc, who was previously hit in the shoulder by a sahuagin spear, clasps her hands together and shoots a burst of healing light at Boerth. Reinvigorated, he raises his sword in defense and backs his way up the gangplank, which has become significantly steeper than it was a few minutes ago. A tabaxi with three earrings and a bandana appears above the gunwale, and expertly throws a dagger that lands in the eye of one of the sahuagin below. She calls to Ooduls, "Gather you friends and we leave! Is anyone left on island?"

    Spoiler: Round 2 Summary
    Show
Left standing on the docks are two Sahuagin, both very bloody and close to death, and one giant crab who seems mostly okay. Most of the sailors have retreated up the gangplank. One is left behind, who appears to be a cleric of some sort. He looks very wounded.

Nearby on the sands, Kebri has been grappled by a crab who is also doing okay. (Roll STR(Athletics) or DEX(Acrobatics) to escape, DC11. I also left the results of your Vengeful Assault open-ended in case you wanted to narrate it- no worries if not!) Four villagers are standing nearby, waiting for the sea creatures to be defeated before they attempt to board.

Just for fun, Grey, Ooduls and Kebri can roll an INT(Nature) check.

Disgorging a gout of incandescent energy at the nearest sahuagin, Grey ducks out of the crab's reach to call hoarsely up to the tabaxi. "The bridge is down—more will come! Forsake them or not, but wait for the dragon-woman!"

Stealing a concerned glance at Kebri before turning back to the battle, it sends a pulse of power towards the orange-haired cleric that flares into dazzling visibility as it makes contact with his wounds.

Eldritch blast at the nearest sahuagin, moving just out of the dock-crab's reach, then using Healing Light on the orange-haired cleric.

Reminder that armor of agathys is still active, so anyone who hits Grey takes 5 points of cold damage.

Kebri struggles with the giant crab. Her acid was mostly ineffective, and when it grabbed her shoulder she tried to use her staff to hit it away, but missed. With great effort and grunting, she pries the pincer off and gets a moment to catch a breath.

She looks up, beyond the crab, to the sailors and the ship at the dock, and calls, "Be right there!" Then she refocuses her attention on it, trying to decide whether to fight or just run for the ship.
