Re: [WFRP] The Bloody Crown OOC XV
I picture Rolf as an Irish wolfhound.
Holy crap. A full decade, and still with 5 of our original players (barring the quick dropouts and replacements at the very beginning). We must be legends in the GiantITP community.
Thanks, LCP, for this wonderful journey. I hope we see it through to the end.Last edited by -Sentinel-; 2023-01-20 at 09:44 AM.

Wow what an amazing run so far!
I'd also like to thank LCP and my fellow players - by far the longest game I've ever been in!

Re: [WFRP] The Bloody Crown OOC XV
I would say that would be if anyone but the ~7 of us were reading, but I have had a few PMs over the years from people saying they enjoy reading the IC threads, which is nice

Re: [WFRP] The Bloody Crown OOC XV
I imagine even forum users who don't read our threads will sometimes think: "Holy crap, The Bloody Crown is STILL going?"
He's a livestock guardian rather than a hunting hound, so I was picturing something a bit shaggier.SpoilerRunning:

Re: [WFRP] The Bloody Crown OOC XV
Hey screw the readers, I've been having a good time. I was in my first year of university when the game started and it's been a constant comfort since through some rough times.

Re: [WFRP] The Bloody Crown OOC XV
Ten years is very impressive! And, like LeSwordfish, this game has been a great thing and a very concretely positive part of my life while I was an active part of it!
…
and to put my money where my mouth is – I passed my PhD viva today, and (like I said after I submitted my thesis) this game was an essential outlet in the process of getting to this point, so I wanted to share that fact with you folks! also I’m extremely drunkAvatar by LCP

Re: [WFRP] The Bloody Crown OOC XV
Very nice, Thragka. Congrats.
Wish I had something that impressive to share. Best I've got is lately I've been dabbling with 3d printing and trying to homebrew some game systems. Nothing really concrete there yet though.

Re: [WFRP] The Bloody Crown OOC XV
Congrats Thragka! We'll have to get a copy of your thesis to file with Cacophrax.
Apologies everyone that I haven't had my foot on the GM accelerator pedal too much - it's been a bit of a week (that culminated in me taking a colleague to a Swiss hospital last night). On the train home now and hoping for a nice relaxing weekend catching up with you guys + some gobbos.
If you're ready to move on from this scene, my immediate questions are:
1) Do you want to try picking up the trail, or finding more local witnesses?
2) Do you want to push as far as you can before dark, or double back and find shelter here? I'd say you probably have about 5-6 hours of daylight left.

Re: [WFRP] The Bloody Crown OOC XV
@ Thragka: Very happy for you! Remind me, what's your field?
Oh, are you at the CERN?
About what % of your time to you spend in the UK vs. Switzerland?

2) Do you want to push as far as you can before dark, or double back and find shelter here? I'd say you probably have about 5-6 hours of daylight left.
2) For my part, I think our chances of meeting night goblins increase if we camp in the wilderness. That's how we met them the first time.Last edited by -Sentinel-; 2023-01-27 at 02:17 PM.

Re: [WFRP] The Bloody Crown OOC XV
I think aside from the trail getting colder, we're not on an urgent clock. How about a quick trip out in the rough direction of the trail now, seeing if we can spot it, and then head back out to where we find it in the morning?

Re: [WFRP] The Bloody Crown OOC XV
5-6 hours is a decent amount of time to work with, but we're losing a lot if we need to double back. I'm thinking maybe head out and see if there's a hidden or defensible place we can set up camp while still allowing us enough time to head back if there's nowhere suitable.
I imagine Bardhyl knows the area better than any of the others. Would he know any places like that in the direction we're heading?

Re: [WFRP] The Bloody Crown OOC XV
I don't know - would Bardhyl know any such places, @LCP?
As for Follow Trail, Afrim and Damjan both have that trained, so the party's not completely stumped there.

Re: [WFRP] The Bloody Crown OOC XV
If anyone's interested, I got my 3d printer settings figured out and did a first run of minis. Here's the results.

Still need to do a bit more cleanup and glue the rest of the heads on, but I'm quite happy with how they turned out.Last edited by TheSummoner; 2023-01-29 at 05:41 PM.

Re: [WFRP] The Bloody Crown OOC XV
Undecided. The set is essentially Empire state troops (complete with sword and spear options in addition to the halberds), but they're a bit too big for Warhammer... 32mm scale whereas Warhammer used 28mm. My thought was to throw them on some 25mm round bases and design a movement tray to fit rounds so they can still rank up. Then either use them for Kings of War or to mess around with a custom system.

Re: [WFRP] The Bloody Crown OOC XV
That's looking pretty great for home printing. IIRC the scale for Warhammer was kind of drifting larger anyway - idk how those guys would look next to some modern minis but I bet they wouldn't seem too outsized.
Am guessing I should move things along to having you guys make camp at some secret spot to Bardhyl - will get that posted ASAP.

Re: [WFRP] The Bloody Crown OOC XV
If the gobbos are keeping to the shadows as Bardhyl suggests they'll be down the bottom, but it wouldn't be difficult to traverse along the top + would let you peep down over the edge.

Re: [WFRP] The Bloody Crown OOC XV
I'm not sure I have a super clear idea of the geography here - are we looking up at this ravine as it goes uphill, or is it going down away from us? Would going along the top require climbing up from here?

Re: [WFRP] The Bloody Crown OOC XV
Here's a sketch:
The dotted lines are the tracks coming to and from the gully; you've arrived following the one from the north.
The gully runs uphill from your current position, but to getting to the top doesn't require you to scale any sheer face - you'd just need to go round a little way to the north or south and walk up the hillside. I'm picturing something like this.
