R9T13.05: Zauberei shouts out to the group, "Someone come and get this spellbook I am holding, then rip out all the spells. It will damage the Splatterman."

He then casts a spell and hits the spirit with two force missiles that strike the Splatter Man in the chest for 7 force.

R9T13: The Splatter Man concentrates and sends out another set of juiced up magic missiles: one strikes Hargrimm for 6 force, dropping him; one strikes Zauberei for 3 force; Angelo for 7 force; and finally Marius for 4 force. He flies across the room - getting missed by Marius' hammer - to then glower over Zauberei from his height of 5' off the ground, pronouncing, "You are no true wizard that would destroy magic so."

R9T12: Marius, your claim on the dying Rat-2 ends. Roll a Fort save vs. poison. What do you do?

Wren on deck, Lexi in the hole ...

Marius shuffles backward and stabs at the rat with his polearm. "I'll get Hargrimm! Someone help Zauberei!" Marius calls out worriedly as he surveys the situation.

R9T10: Wren drop his axe on Rat-2, and it disappears with a slight popping sound. He then moves east and north around the oubliette.

R9T9: Lexi, what do you do?

R10T13.1: The red-tinged spider on the side walls of the oubliette snaps its mandibles at Lexi.

R10T13.05: Zauberei channels a bright light of healing power that provides 3 healing and stops Hargrimm's bleeding. Zauberei pants some from the effort, as it seems that is the maximum strength his body has to push such planar power through his body. He begins moving over to Hargrimm. Nethys is with him this time, though, for the Splatter-Man's corrupting, ghostly hand is stopped by Zauberei's magic field of armor.

R10T13: The Splatter Man floats into the corner, maintaining his 5' height, and begins casting a spell ....

OoC: It's a full-round action to pour a potion down someone's throat, so Marius can't revive Hargrimm the same turn he pulls out a potion. The delicate nature of that task explains the delay, but man does that choke the action economy.

R10T12: Marius full-heartedly resists the poison while he gives a half-hearted stab at the spider which is under the lip and he misses wildly. That done, he shuffles farther away from it, before dropping his weapon and pulling out a potion.

"It's another long spell! Try to disrupt it!" Marius calls out.

R10T10: Wren casts a spell on his hand and moves up to the Splatter Man. Wren's hand goes through the spirit's elbow and discharges and is resisted for only 5 PE, and the ghost doesn't lose its spell.

R10T9: Alexandru, your warhammer is dropped while you fight with longsword and shield and some minor mental impairment. You are mentally connected to Angelo, Hargrimm, Marius, & Zauberei. Your spider quarry is not at your level, but below you under the lip of the oubliette (which is why Marius's attack was doomed to fail). The Splatter-Man is casting a spell. What do you do?

and he tries to move closer to the oubliette in an attempt to draw the creature out and strike at it.

I know he can't actually move closer to the spider but he's attempting to lure it out so he can poke it with his sword.

Alexandru doesn't need to really move closer to the spider; any closer and he is taking the express elevator to the lower oubliette floor, but he does tap the side with his longsword to annoy it. He gives a mighty strike, and the spider disappears on contact!

R11T15: "I wonder if this fellow truly appreciates all that we are trying to do in order to help him," Angelo says with a smirk as he begins to cast a spell. But that smirk quickly fades to horror as in his casting and confidence - Angelo forgot to do so cautiously as well. A ghostly hand reaches from above him to pass through his abdomen for 24 aging. Liver spots form on his casting hands, his lustrous hair grows dull and limp and begins to gray, and the effort is too much as the older-Angelo loses his spell.

R11T13.05: Zauberei, what do you do? You still have The Splatter Man's spellbook in hand.

R11T14: Seeing the danger the ghosts presents he changes his plan of action and aims a spells at the spirit, striking it with 2 bolts of arcane energy for a total 7 force. "I can damage the spirit with spells, someone get the book and tear out all the spells at once."

R11T13: The Splatter Man almost faltered when struck by Zauberei's spell. Almost. But proving himself a superior wizard to Zauberei, even in death, he manages to find the supernatural fortitude to continue casting and his spell ignites. Energy coalesces and forms just north of the fallen dwarf into a small creature that none of you are likely to have ever seen before. The body of this red-tinged creature is kind of blob-like, with many tentacles forming from it. The Splatter Man points to Hargrimm's body and hisses, "Smite!"

The mini-monster forms faint, baleful energy on its beak on the underside of its blobby-body and the tips of its tentacles, and bites Hargrimm in his arm for 4 + 1 poison, even as its tentacles attempt to find purchase.

As for the Splatter Man himself, he concentrates on a spell, and sends bolts of energy of his own at Hargrimm (5 force), Zauberei (3 force), Angelo (4 force), and Wren (3 force) before disappearing into the wall to the north, cackling wildly for the pain he causes.

R11T12: Marius, you have a potion of CMW in hand. What do you do?

Marius administers his potion of cure moderate wounds to Hargrimm and then resumes his defensive posture.

R11T10: Wren uses the axe on the side of the wall to pop him up and around the corner so the monster there doesn't get an attack on him as he passes Zauberei. He slams his axe into the freaky creature for 12. "It's an octopus! Sea creature with a poison bite."

R12T14: Hargrimm's dwarven constitution defies and defeats the poison in his system. Hargrimm smacks his lips at the aftertaste of the potion, but stops in wide eyed terror when he sees the sea octopus(?) so close to him. Not wanting to risk the spider's bite by running, Hargrimm channels energy to heal, providing up to 10 healing to everyone. He is no longer disabled, but he is prone ... and now he is too tired to push planar energies through his body anymore.

R12T13.5: Zauberei, what do you? Though Angelo ripped a spell out (magic missile), you have no idea what effect it might have had, if any, and you are the one still holding the book.

R12T13.1: The octopus bites Hargrimm in his left calf for 3 + poison while at the same time its tentacles grab him! Lexi fails his readied action - a clumsy attack attempted around the corner of the wall.

R12T13: Five feet above the ground as usual, the Splatter Man appears out of a cell wall farther to the southeast. He casts a spell, and four arcane bolts rip outward to strike Hargrimm (2 force), Zauberei (5 force), Angelo (4 force), & Lexi (2 force).

R12T12: Marius, what do you do?

Marius stoops down to pick up his polearm, glowing with dark frustration. "Vexations! Marius, be better than this. Finish this already!" he quietly chides himself.

He then lashes out with his polearm at the tentacled monster attacking Hargrimm.
