Zistalna doesn’t say much about getting more firepower, but instead sits down with the troopers and anyone else staying. While it might be interesting to see how the war machine in the Republic operates, she is far more interested in getting to know soldiers, in particular with such a short notice.

“Want to make practice clearing rooms? If there isn’t such a training course on the ship, perhaps we can do with some improvisation?”

    Heading to Quartermaster

    "Let's stick together," CT-0509 says.

You pick up the droid without an issue, as you walk the clone starts some idle conversation.

"So, we've pushed the Seppies out of the mid-rim, and we're on the doorstep of the Confederacy's Foundry," he said, "we take that, and they won't be able to replenish their droids. War could be over soon. Not sure how I feel about it, to be honest. What do you think?"

    Briefing Room

"I am CT-0476, medical specialist," one of the clones says, "and this is-"

"CT-1453, heavy weapons," the other one cuts in, "of course we have training grounds on the ship, how do you think we stay sharp?"

    The medic rolls his eyes.
"He's always ready to blow something up, but who gets the work when something goes bad? Me," he said, "still, if you're interested in some target practice, I will accompany you."
    CT-1453 looks at you hopefully.

T'tchiirt inwardly cringes at the faux pas, glad, fir once, that her inability to articulate Basic protects her from stepping in that sandpit.

Frankly, she had had misgivings about the Grand Army from multiple perspectives since its existence became public knowledge. The human cost to the clones themselves, was, frankly, the least of it. But, actually meeting them, she was not without pity for them.

Perhaps the others will join us when they are ready?" She did not mind target practice, quite the contrary, but unlike targets, when it came to a sharp situation, whoever was in the sights would do what they could to survive.

"Zistalna. Why do you have such strange names? Where I come from, you'd be Ten'olch'yre, and Teo'dinc'het're." She hummed for a bit. "Or Enolchyre and Eodinche. Or Chy're and Din'che to your friends. Much more personal." She did not quite understand the whole clone and numbering. Detachment perhaps because the Republic was not used to war. It was easier to send numbers out to die than people. What an awful way of commanding. When her Head of House came into power, that would change, surely.

Coralej's first though is that it's not going to be that easy, "Not so sure about the war being over that fast, if they're too stubborn to surrender with us this close then they might keep resisting until we've wiped out every droid in the entire rim. Never given much thought to what comes after."

It's an odd thing, we've been talking about it amongst ourselves for a while now. We know the war is bad, seen what it's done to the people and the planets, but at the same time, if not for the Separatists fighting the Republic, we clones wouldn't exist."

"We can certainly take a look. I'm sure others are getting some practice in already," the medic replies. Skira was quiet for a good moment, mulling it over. He'd never been much for politics. His homeworld was small and remote enough for the entire Separatist Crisis to play out mostly in soundbites in the newscasts. Even after changing jobs and leaving home, he'd been content to work around the war, unless he was getting paid-and paid good-to get involved. On the other hand, CT-0509 had quite literally been bred for war. And considering the clone loyalty conditioning, it was probably a war he didn't understand any better than Skira did.

    It was quite sobering.

Finally, he spoke. "When I little, grandma once tell me, 'Skira, you can only control you. Others's actions not your responsibility.'"

"I'm sure they do Chy're, but I've been taught that practice as a team if what matters. Anyone can shoot a target in a calm environment. Not everyone can avoid being the way when quarters are close and tight." She considered them for a while and their naming. "I see." She leaves her judgement out of it.

    Quartermaster

You arrive at the Ordnance quartermaster's office. Two staffers work desks near the entrance, while a Siniteen, easily identifiable by his bulbous head, sits at a larger desk in the rear of the office, tapping away at his terminal. There is an armory guarded by two clone troopers on the far side.

One of the staffers looks up as you enter.
"Can I help you?" he asks.

    Proving Arena

There is a large training arena on-board, and it can be set up with various scenarios and obstacles to overcome. There is an observation deck, where you can look through transparisteel see what is going on in the arena.
Currently, a squad of five is engaged in a mock firefight with training droids, some of which man towers or take cover behind obstacles, making it tricky to avoid getting shot.
CT-1453 explains that you can schedule time in the proving grounds to take a run through the obstacle course, and it can be set up as something similar to what you might find at the Corporate Alliance HQ.

There is a lounge nearby, where some small snacks are available from auto-dispensers. A few dozen clone troopers mill about the area, relaxing and chatting. The non-clones of your group draw some curious stares, but nobody mentions anything (yet).

    Spoiler

we won't actually RP through the proving arena scenario, rather, we can make a few rolls to see how the squad does.

"Dinche? Sounds like the noise a clanker makes when it walks," the heavy weapons clone says.
"Setting up the training session is easy, c'mon, I'll show ya," he adds.

There are a few options, one of which is a floor clearing exercise. There is an option for difficulty, 1-5.

    The staffer nods.

"Non-clones have been assigned credit allowance allocation. If there is any left, they can use that to requisition arms and ordnance," the staffer replied as he looks through a computer terminal, "Hmmm... Commander Sadaki has four troopers, I'll need to know what kind of explosives, and a justification for the additional ordnance."

He hands a datapad over to you with a blank requisition form.

"Chy're is the shortening of Enolchyre, which is the short hand for Ten'olch'yre. Chy're means, hmm, Chy is cold wind that seeps through the body and you can't quite get rid off, and re by itself means little, but together with a verb, it means strong, powerful?"

"Din'che." Zistalna repeats. "There's a tongue flick between Din and che, perhaps Dintche would be how you'd express it? Din is a reflection of light that's almost blinding, che is a form of ice, the kind you can see through, but can't punch through" There were a lot of variants of ice and snow, but the language spoken here did not take that into account. They had a single word, where ice could be so different. "It does not play very well in your language, but it would mean something along the lines of strong ice that reflects the light in a blinding way."

"What does these step means? What do you practice normally? We go one step below that, because you are used to work with one another, and the rest of us are newcomers. Don't expect us to keep even steps with you. Yet."

You fill out the forms and receive approval for four additional fragmentation grenades, one for each clone.

At the proving grounds, the request is made at a difficulty of 2, and group's turn comes soon enough. The arena is set up to look like the floor of an office building, with mock desks set up for cover, as well as thin walls to represent hallways. You are issued training rifles so as not to cause too much damage. Your goal is for as many team members to reach the other side of the room, as quickly as possible. As you enter the first section, you see that there are three ways you could go, straight ahead, to the right, or to the left.

You can divide your forces here or stick together.

    Spoiler
    Show
ok, you can decide who to send where. If you stick together, you have a better chance of punching through any defense, but if you split up, it might be possible to flank the enemy, which would make it easier to defeat them and move on.

"Let's stay together and shoot all the droids. The fastest way through is a straight line down the middle, and more guns means we should outnumber them at every chokepoint," the heavy weapons specialist clone says.

"I recommend splitting our forces at least two ways," the medic says, "flanking the enemy is why we work in teams."

“I will agree with the plan of three parties, a stronger vanguard and two mobile parties. One moving up the sides, and one held in reserves to be able to flank or reinforce where it is needed. Committing all troops at once means there are no options if or rather when the situation changes, and deploying to many in one group makes them vulnerable to grenades. No one should go alone, it is better to loosen the strength of the vanguard to ensure everyone has someone with them.” She paused for a bit.

“The obstacle course may have problems of its own so we also best have slicers divided by teams as well as ability to… open… doors or disarm armaments.” She draws with her fingers, quickly formulating plans within plans. She was no officer material, but she knew how to make a complex plan that once broken down was simple enough that everyone knew their job, and their comrades job.
