    Crap crap crap!!!
They're healing damage like my aura. You gotta hit them as hard as possible. Argal, use my blunt....
Lazarus offers Argal his morningstar (or would do if it was his action - he's just shouting at this point).

Hey! I got some glue I can use!!

I think Dribble has an action since all he did was speak, then it's back to the rats? I don't think there's anything the other two PCs can do except maybe find another blunt weapon that does more than 1d3 hp damage.

As the fight starts to seem on the worried end, Dribble grits his teeth. We are not going to run from some tiny rats... He takes a footing, growls fiercly and almost leaps into the swarm, cleaving his shield through the mass of rats.

Arhg! Yes I use bashing weapon

If possible Argal is now readied to except the morningstar as a readied action (ie free action)
The moment he gets it he will rage his little socks off!

Just waiting on the rats now.......

EDIT; Am I right in thinking that Argal can use the one handed Morningstar in two hands and get some kind of bonus or was that a house rule I played once?

Yeah you get the strength bonus x1.5 with any non-light weapon. Fortunately morningstars are not light and neither is a quaterstaff even a small sized quaterstaff doing only 1d4.

    Raging str is 22 = +6 dam x1.5 = +9
so if you hit its 1d8+9 less 5 for the DR is 1d8+4
not bad at all. try not to miss please!

The rats keep munching on Argal.
    damage - (1d6)[1]

Argal, do 2 fort saves, both at a DC 12. First is for resist being nauseated, and the second to resist the disease...again.

Will say that Argal managed to get the morningstar, but there is no bonus on wielding a 1H weapon with 2H...other than the normal STR bonus for 1H.yeah, not a light weapon...STRX1.5

    It's a d8+9 not a d10+6 but close enough.

Also you need to make two Fort saves, one for the disease attack of the rats' last move and the other for nausea so you can attack in your round just gone..

Also you know if you want to you can step OUT of the rats area so they have to MOVE to get you again which gives you a free AOO vs them, but they never get any AOO against you.

Lazarus changes his aura to the healing aura, seeing the other ain't working.

    Keep smashin them Argal!
He grabs one of the Tanglefoot bags he has with him and rips it open in the area in front of and around the doorway to stop the rats getting through the doorway and if Argal is still in that area to stop them scampering up his legs.

If Argal hasn't already done so, Lazarus shouts out:
    Step back through the doorway!

    (1d20+5)[7]

    And AOO;
Attack; (1d20+8)[15] (Igot it wrong before should be +8)
    If hit; (1d8+9)[15]

(Also how does healing aura work?)

Default let's see if I can get this figured out

    Spoiler
    Show

OK Argal's Fort save was at +7 not +5 due to rage.
    Still fails both.
Therefore you're now going to contract the rat disease in 1d3 days....
Also you were nauseated last round so couldn't hit the rats.
But nausea lets you move just fine so....
You are now just outside the room with Lazarus ready to AOO the rats (for the 15 hp - 5 = 10 hp you already rolled) should they try to get past the glue on the floor there. If they do that I think we got 'em because they will get stuck probably... I hope.

OTOH they might go kill Tolsimir

If they move to attack Dribble he gets an AOO.
So far then the damage to the rats is only 3hp still.
    They have on average 18hp.

    It's the rats move next.

Let me throw together all the links you need to look up all these rules:
    Nausea
    Swarms
    Rat swarm
    Fiendish
    Tanglefoot bag

Oh and fast healing means you gain 1hp magic heal at the start of your round if you have less than half your current HP maximum of 15 (+2 for rage, right?) it works even if _you_ are unconscious, but it stops if _Lazarus_ is unconscious. So basically you're healing 1hp per round now.
    [hr]
Does Argal get an AOO -- a perfectly normal one -- if the rats just run away from him? If so I guess he's going to do that 10hp damage either way.

Two black dots in the NE of the room are L and A.

That was the position before Argal stepped through the N doorway next to Lazarus btw.

Big red blob is the rats.

    The problem with colour codes:
    (1) who has what colour?
    (2) I don't know exactly where to put people -- maybe I'd put Tolsimir at the back and he wanted to be at the front. By keeping them all black the exact locations can be fudged.

I suppose the others have moved too since Dribble and Septima have meleed the rats. Elusive Joe probably has dropped out. it's the same pictured I made this morning quickly - positions just after the rats first attacked.

Yeah there's no standard rule for goo vs swarm.

OK a ranged to hit. But with standard scatter rules it would end up in the same place even with a miss since I didn't throw it any distance (miss = move half distance thrown in random direction).

    Throw/drop goo - (1d20)[13]

Argal's turn is next with a normal attack.
Also he heals 1hp due to the aura. I think he has 8hp currently, so > half HP max (7.5), so no heal is triggered.
