Maria was shaken and somewhat hesitant as she recovered from her wounds. She was grateful for the help and the healing. And seemed to pull through though much less enthusiastic than before. She had been dealt a rather nasty low blow. But she was very brave and found the strength to move on in spite of her lack of confidence. In the morning she was memorizing her spells for the day and was silent, again staying in the middle of party as they moved on.

When they come across the ravine, Maria lets the adults decide what to do. But she stays alert, eyes roving even more than she used to thanks to her close call last night.

While they made camp that night, just as everyone settled in, Oshana found a place next to the young mage. She put her arm around the girl's shoulder and gave her a gentle hug.

"Hey. Being caught unaware happens to all of us eventually. You came out the other side of that fight alive and in one piece. That's more than a lot of people can say. We're not going to let you die on us."

Oshana shuffled over to the rope and gave it a tug. If it was secure, she had to wonder why someone would got to the trouble of setting it up without making something more stable or permanent.

It is stable, do you want to climb up?

Oshana held up the knotted rope to the rest.

"I can't sweet talk anybody else into being the first to clime this, can I?

"I am a terrible climber. I might fall so I need someone to catch me.", Maria says with a slightly embarrassed smile.
