Kynos leaps up onto the porch, skirting past the ghost and then turning to stab at it twice, his sword flashing with radiant wrath.

Mia moves out of sight.

Ekemon unleashes a flurry of sword strikes, opening more wounds across the ghost's body. It abruptly vanishes in a poof of dust, and a clattering sound. A pointed black blade has fallen to the ground, perhaps 20 inches in length. There is no handle, and the back end of the blade is uneven, as though it is part of a greater whole.

"Over already?" Runa asks, poking her head over the roof's edge. "Nice work."

She stows her bow and takes her sword from Wol, walking down the front wall of the house.

"Well, it's half of something," she says, looking down at the black blade. "Maybe the handle is in the other ghost? Let me see if I can move this one."

She tries to pick it up with her telekinesis, and it floats up into the air in front of her.

"No immediate necromantic shock," she notes, "but of course, I'm not exactly touching it in the traditional way... maybe let's not try that unless we have to."

Runa easily picks up the blade. It's sized like a longsword blade, not a shortsword blade.

Kynos looked at the blade, trying to uncover its significance with his - admitedly limited - knowledge about necromancy.
Finally, he said: "Maybe we can affect the shadow blade with this one. We'll have to take car of the other ghost first though. Let's hope the two constructs haven't been repaired meanwhile. We should scout out where they stood. Maybe we can disable them before they become active."

"Let's go through the house," Runa says. "We can leave this thing inside until we need it later. I don't want to have it floating around us in the middle of a fight."

She leads them into the house, stashing the black blade in the coat closet.

"I looked around earlier," she says. "Ghost man had a wife and child. Possibly they got away before... whatever happened happened."

She tears a blank scrap of paper from one of the books on the bookshelf and puts it in her pocket with the feather, then goes out the back door, looking through Wol's eyes to see further in the darkness.

Runa will immediately tell the others if Wol's darkvision picks up anything that looks like an enemy within 120'. She gives the skeleton and the pump a wide berth, trying to see if the ghost farmer is still at the dock.

Runa steps out onto the back steps, the secondary screen door making some noise. Wol flies forward a bit and spots the ghostly figure back at the dock, as well as 3 oozes close to the house. It looks like they had been going around to the right side of the house to reach the noise in the front, but they've now turned to move toward her.

"Oozes out here!" Runa calls to the others.

Mia is the quickest to react. She moves to the door, opens it, calls down holy fire on the ooze nearest the door, then closes it again and hides behind the wall.

Runa darts forward in a simultaneous attack with Wol. His hardy talons rake the surface of the ooze while she jabs with her sword. Magical vibrations shake slime from the blade as she withdraws out of their reach.

Mia moves to AL34, opens the door, casts Sacred Flame on O5, then closes it (letting go of the door; if I'm not mistaken it closes automatically) and moves to AM34.

Wol flies to O5's square, uses the Help action to give Runa advantage on her attack, then flies back to her shoulder.

Runa moves 5' towards O5, attacks with Booming Blade, advantage, and sneak attack, then disengages and moves to AH32.

While the haste spell still lasted, Kynos flitted out the door, attacked the oozes and moved back inside

As before, I take the opportunity attack if necessary, attacking oozes until they stop moving or until I'm running out of attacks.

Mia's Sacred Flame lands atop the closest ooze, scorching it to a crisp (destroyed). Kynos dashes out and slashes rapidly at the next ooze until it falls apart.
Runa shoots the last one with her bow, splitting it in half.

(I swapped her attack to O4, the last alive, and subbed in a shortbow for booming blade... still hit, 1d6+4+sneak attack vs 6 hp left).

The oozes are all gone, wiped out by the party's rapid response.

"Time for the other ghost, then. Before Mia's spell ends." Runa runs to the tree she hid in before, taking cover behind its trunk. Wol follows, carrying her sword.

Mia comes up behind them, veering in the other direction so that she is behind the remains of the orange beast.

Mia and Runa move up. Kynos nearly flies across the ground, light flaring around his sword as he cuts the ghost on the docks to pieces. A black hilt falls to the ground with a clatter.

Ekemon, right behind him, attacks one of the fishing poles, leaving it chipped and battered but not destroyed.

The poles try to hook the two, but all of them miss.

Moving more than 30’ from the pole breaks the line, but the Hooked target takes 4 damage. A creature may use its action to make a DC 13 Sleight of Hand check to remove the hook, or it may take the Attack action and roll against AC 10 to cut a line using a slashing or piercing weapon.

Runa uses Dash to reach the nearest pole to her still standing and attacks it with her shortsword. Wol remains behind the tree.

If the poles count as creatures for the purpose of attacking them, Runa uses Booming Blade, but if they're not, she just attacks normally. Similarly, sneak attack only works on creatures. She gets it without advantage if an ally is within 5 feet of her target.

Kynos chops a pole in half with 3 hits. Runa doesn't have much luck, as the pole whips out of her way. Ekemon does like Kynos and chops one to bits in 3 hits.

2 fishing poles remain animate, and try again to hook the party members closest to them, but miss.

You easily destroy the other two, and Mia's Haste spell expires, leaving Kynos and Ekemon momentarily exhausted.

"I'd say, let's compare them to the part sticking out of the skeleton, but that would activate the pump and those pesky oozes. Any idea, how we could stop that menace?"

"Honestly, I don't know if we need to worry about the oozes," Runa says. "They are by far the least threatening things here. Even if we can't stop them, one of us can just kill them as they come while the others work on the skeleton."

She picks up the hilt with her telekinesis and draws it to her, but does not touch it.

"Of course, we don't have to get close to check if it looks the same." Levitating the hilt a distance away from her, she moves it closer to the sword in the skeleton, using Wol's keen night eyes to peer at it.

Runa moves to within 30' of the sword in the skeleton, and levitates the sword right next to it. She is holding her sword which provides dim illumination from 15' to 30' away, which means that to Wol (or Runa looking through his eyes), it is equivalent to bright light, due to darkvision.

It looks identical save for the missing center of the sword, although the pieces Runa is holding appear more substantial than the one embedded in the skeleton.

"Eheh, sorry!" - Mia says, sticking her tongue out at the letargic Ekemon. To be completely honest, she hadn't feel much talkative since that weird dream put her in a bad mood. The necrotic energy that seemed to impregnate that place didn't help either, she felt exhausted and drained from all the negative energy around her. - "But here, this ought to make you feel better." - she says, and as the sorceress says that, she blows another gust of silvery dust on the weird substance on her companion.

"So, Runa, opinions on the sword?" - she asks, as the rogue is inspecting the piece on the skeleton.

He stands, the wave of lethargy now passed, and the irritating wounds from the pellets now healed. Get ready, I'm going to try to lock the pump, but if any oozes come out, let's make short work of them. Ekemon pulls the hempen rope from his dungeoneer's pack and runs up to the pump, grabbing the handle and looping the rope beneath it. Pulling the rope taut so the handle cannot depress, he pulls the rope over to the well and loops the rope around the posts holding the roof up over the well. After a few passes, he crosses them over in a simple knot and let's go.

Alright, we have two of the three. Which means there is likely a third ghost around somewhere. Wasn't there a large building around here? maybe there's the missing piece.
