Sigrún shows no signs of concern at Smelkie's words. "If there are only twenty of them they'll wish they had brought back up."

Crossing the bridge over the creek you realize the lookout you were warned of must have run or been killed already, as you meet no resistance. The tunnel turns and you find yourselves facing a larger cavern with a big fire in the middle. Six goblins tend the fire, though each is actively armed unlike those in Klarg's den. At the far side of the cave, a set of roughly hewn steps leads up to a ledge where two more goblins can be seen relaxing. One is notably larger than the other goblins and seems to be wearing a few spoils of their raids, namely a tattered but clearly once expensive silk coat that has been torn and resewn repeatedly to fit a goblin, and a necklace with a handful of golden teeth tied to it

Netish followed close behind Sigrun. And as she sees the next group of goblins, she looks up to her companion.

Same as before? We charge and let the others come behind?

"Music to my ears," Sigrún replies to Netish.

She then unsheathes her greataxe and shouts at the goblins before her. "Klarg is dead, as are all the goblins that stood beside him in battle and all those who stood guard outside. Surrender now or join them."

The goblins scramble for a moment, but the larger one with the golden tooth necklace barks out in Goblin Stop! and they all freeze, looking at you. The leader peers down from the ledge and speaks in flawless Common Impressive. Klarg was quite strong, if a bit thick. But now you're in a goblin den and you're tired. So why don't you make me an offer and if I like it, I won't have you gutted like fish

The smile isn't one of amusement any more, but like that of a predator closing in on its prey. She then says, in flawless goblin, "I offer you only this... A swift death."

She then charges forward.

Having avoided the dart and shaken off your spell, the large goblin spits, and then reaches behind him. He hauls a heavily injured human man in chain armor forward You seek his death? If not, you will leave Yeemik tribute and flee! He gives you all a cruel smile Yeemik will even let him go in a few days, to drag himself back to the human town and spread word of Yeemik. Or... The goblin pushes the man towards the ledge, keeping a boot on him to kick him off if you fight. The ridge is only about 10 feet high, but the man is half-conscious and already wounded.

"Look, I'm not the most experienced about this, but I really don't think you're in position to barter. Like... Your kill him. Then you die. Or you stand down, and we don't kill you," she says. "I promise we'll spare you if you just surrender peacefully-and I think my word is better than yours."

"Can't we jus kill him?" Smelkie says while loading an arrow and aiming for Yeemik. "Nobody will know who, whats your name again?... he was and we will be awarded for rescueing a man from foul and stinky goblins."

"You know the second you start bartering you've already admitted defeat, right? A true warrior never entreats for their life," Sigrún says, her tone clearly of disappointment, "Simple fact is, if you hurt him you'll never get out of here alive. There's nobody left in this place to come to your rescue and if he dies, you die."

She waits a moment to let it sink in. "Your only chance to see the sun rise tomorrow is to hand over the human, curl up into a fetal position and pray to whatever god you believe in that we leave before night falls and all the predators of the woods are attracted here by the smell of carrion. They'll use your bones to pick the meat from their fangs."

The goblin leader hesitates. Your words all ring true and it takes no great insight to see the reality of the situation makes him furious. His one conscious ally has lowered her bow and whispers in Goblin

Sigrún picks the human up and hoists him upon her shoulder and begins to leave the cave. Before she does, though, she turns to the goblins and says "Now you bring it up, since we're all good friends now and we should never cross paths again, why don't you tell us where we can find King Grol and we won't need to tell him you headed east?"

Yeemik snarls at you and spits out It's northeast of here in Neverwinter Wood. Should be easy to find if you don't lose your way in the forest. The goblins put to sleep by Maria's spell begin to stir as the magic starts to wear off.

Lonnie feeds one of her berries to the unconscious man. "Thanks little guys," she says to the goblins. "Stay out of trouble, okay?"

The goblins glare as you exit the cave. The man comes to after being fed the goodberry, standing on his own and glancing around at all of you Who are you? Where is Gundren?. The man is on the taller side and though middle-age has greyed his hair, he has the build of warrior. Now alert, he seems tense but ready to hear you out

"We were hired by Gundren to escort some stuff to the mines. But then stuff went bad, and now we're here to save the day!" Lonnie tells him. "We found out that Gundren is being held captive by King Grol, and we've got a vague idea of where he is. We're probably gonna go there next to save him too. Also I'm Lonnie-what's your name?"

"More importantly.... Aparantly there was a prize on your heads. What is it that you guys are involved in that someone would pay good cash to kidnap and murder?"
